    People are really misinformed if they think this guy is wasting water. Here are the reasons why...
    1- Okinawa's climate is classified as warm and temperate. There is a great deal of rainfall in Okinawa, even in the driest month. This climate is considered to be Cfa according to the Köppen-Geiger climate classification. The average temperature in Okinawa is 22.3 °C. The average annual rainfall is 2083 mm. Which is 82 inches in comparison to New Orleans which has 62.7 inches
    2- He is most likely using a water filtration device that recycles the water endlessly.
    3- Okinawa Is literally surrounded by ocean... The water he is using is most likely saltwater anyway.... Any Water released will most likely make its way back to the Water table, the ocean, or evaporate back into the clouds where it will rain again soon.
    Do some research people...Its not like he is in the middle of Texas, or a dry season in California.... He is literally in a rainy climate surrounded by bodies of water.... Water wasting is not an issue here.

    Those fish markets in Japan are often close to ocean and they use sea water most of time. Sea water suppress the decay of fishes and prevent their tools from smelling badly compared to chlorinated water. I think this is the case.

      Aaron Gilbuena how come is that a waste? if the water is used only to clean those sea creatures without soap (and it usually does in place like that) it wont be that much of a "waste". and when it was recycled to the ocean, the water outlet usually putted in a pretty deep depth of the ocean. so it could be "cleaned" by the ocean ( if you dont know the water flow in the ocean itself involved in puryfing the water)

    haha @ the middle eastern people talking about wasting water
    #1 this is normal for a seafood mkt and in many asian restaurants
    #2 japan is an island. okinawa is a major coastal city. water is abundant. that's like saying "you're wasting desert land" in saudi arabia

    • @c0c0456
      @c0c0456 8 років тому +1

      So that would be true for any island in the world? Isn't it really hard to remove salt from sea water?

    • @MsCherade9
      @MsCherade9 8 років тому +8

      c0c0456 This market is right next to the ocean so they use seawater to wash the fish and crustaceans on the stalls. That water gets filtered and recycled then eventually released straight out into the sea. Any leftover food particles are then just eaten up by plankton, fish and crustaceans in the water. It's a very efficient system.

    Incredible how many ignorant people talk about wasting water here. Just because you live in a region where there's not an abundance of water and you have to really regulate its use doesn't mean that it's the same everywhere. Additionally, the Japanese have used and reused water for ages, wherever you're from, their water recycling system is probably better than yours. And don't even get me started about the illogical statement that using sea water to clean sea food should be a waste. My god, I just realized how many people are ignorant hypocrites.

Plus, I grew up in houses that relied on rainwater tanks - it just make me feel uncomfortable on a gut level seeing drinking-quality water thrown away like that regardless of logic.

      In phea15 Kid in Africa couldnt drink clean water?Sure I know , so what?
      Japan has many clean water because Japan is island.But we dont have energy like a oil.
      All of Japanese wish , all of child can drink clean water.But we cant help it.
      First , You must sell your cellphone, and send money to Africa.
      If you finished it, you can insist to Japanese.

    Japan is surrounded by water, they filter water, use it, filter it again and let it go back. No worry, they care about the environment more than every other country (if they did not classify the trash correctly, they get fined heavily, and more...) so no worry.

      @kauemoura 8 років тому +27

      @Levi Skardsen, that's a very narrow way of seeing things. Despite the Fukushima incident, nuclear power is considerably clean and safe if compared to other forms. Besides, given that the country is mountainous, covered in forests and its valleys are intensively cultivated and populated, what other forms of renewable energy would you suggest? There's no space for big hydroelectric plants, wind turbines wouldn't be enough, sun power wouldn't be enough.

You mean other than overfishing the ocean with little regard to how it effects the rest of the world.
