Thanks guys for doing what you do!
Y'all should leave the comments open on more of these. And maybe do more of these explainers pointing out passenger compartment collapse that can be easy to miss unless you are a weird nerd who looks at that stuff (like me)
Comments should be open on all our videos.
@@iihs-hldi some of yalls videos it isn't like the old ones as well
I like these explained videos
@Omega hello there
Agreed. It would be great if they could do in-depth explanation of all the data.
@@Wasabi9111 Definetaly! A lot of interested people would really appreciate those stuff.
Thank you for doing what you do!
Thanks Marcy
What are the factors that get considered in the seat angle used? It seems if the seat wasn't reclined so much, it would have fared better. Is the angle based on what is commonly used by people? Is there some math behind it? Is it not a factor at all?
To add some colour to my question: I have a VW with a very similar seat and head restraint design, and my head is practically touching the head restraint where as the dummy seems to be several inches away, which makes me wonder about seating position.
It's also interesting because you wonder how your own height, posture and seat angle affects how you'd fare in a crash in a particular vehicle
@@SuperMrgentleman Exactly! I've always been told that you should be sitting as upright as comfortably possible which usually means the headrest is near if not touching my head.
oh nice you finally allow commenting!
So sad it didn’t get to the top safety pick 2022
Bad structure for passenger side is so year 2015.
I don't understand why Volkswagen Taos was only rated acceptable in the head restraints test. Volvo 900 Series earn a good rating on this test.
The version of the vw taos made in Argentina have 5 stars, this version made in mexico I don't know why it's so criticized or why they don't see the version made in Argentina as well as the sprinter.
vw FTW
: )
☹️ p̷r̷o̷m̷o̷s̷m̷
Well the Taos is safe because it’s broken down at the dealership. Sooo many problems and vw corporate doesn’t care
What a flop for VW!
How it didn’t do poor
@@james32371 it's 2022, there is no excuse for an acceptable rating anymore. All cars get Good on all tests, and some are TSP or TSP+.
(excluding the new side test)
@@vxllfire Lots of cars do much worse
@@nothere572 in 3rd world countries yes but in the 1st world not really
@@vxllfire If all vehicles achieve a Good rating on all tests, it means the tests aren't hard enough.
Shame VW for continuing such ‘asymmetric’ 25% safety structure even in 2022!!!
In the US They don't use those safety structures.
@@foxxyguy2681 well this test was done by an American institution for the American market so…
@@gustavomercado1599 I thought that it were for non north american markets 100% Sure its not South America or China?
@@foxxyguy2681 I’m 100% sure

Even if these brand new cars are safe, the wast majority of them are like wasching machines on 4 wheels, i.e. incredible bad build quality and many design flaws in almost all new vehicles for consumer brands. Shame. People should keep their cars more and not buy a new car every 5 - 6 years.
