What black pen do you use? Scottie you ought to have a list of the things that you use in each video so us mere mortals can buy and play... Hoping to one day attain to your dizzy heights of style..
I use adobe fresco. I use a surface pro over iPad Pro for drawing because they the same price but you can run full programs on it :). Plus you can also draw in photoshop with it :)
If what I see in comics right now is any example definitely traditional. The inking in comics today is dreadful and so sloppy. I don't think it's the tools so much as the lack of training. Digital inking is easier so no one bothers to learn how to truly learn how it's done. Back in the day inking was a skill and people who did it well were true craftsmen. Now it's all about the deadline no real pride in the craft that I can see.
I still do both, although mostly digital for work these days. But I agree... something is lost digital, depending on the style. Although I think thats an eye of the creator vs eye of the beholder, as i see a lot of work nowadays where I would struggle to tell the deifference, especially once it's printed in a comic... And while a lot of people do use procreate, I find it woefully inferior to clip studio, on almost every level... except price sadly. Clip studio has become a big spend on the ipad compared to procreate, if it didn't have that subscription method, I think most people would use it over procreate... but as I use clip studio on the desktop, and it's actual comic tools are second to none... have to spend that money on the ipad version too. But still, like you say... as with everything art related, it's what works for you, not what someone else tells you is best. Love the work...

Hey Skottie, You mentioned you scan your work, print then ink over blue lines, What scanner and printer do you use if I may ask?
I was gonna ask the same thing, but I get a feeling he is too busy to answer questions.
@@MitchGurowitz yeah, you might be right.

Is it inking without ink?
Or is it line art then?
Let’s have a argument about it.
What blue pencil is that and what scanner do you use????
digital - because I make waaaaay too many mistakes at this stage to use ink.
Top!
I sketch on paper, scan and digitise.
So you do it backwards to Skottie! Lol

I don't see how some current inkers aren't more well known... like JP Mayer (Ryan Stegman)
