Very good video! 🖤 I went to art school and I was somehow disappointed... the College wasn’t well organized and very expensive. The most things I learned from practicing and self education. But one benefit maybe was that I had to come out of my comfort zone and confront myself with my social fears and self doubts. But I have to admit, If I didn’t went to college, I would definitely have spent less time with creating art.
From an art school grad: The most important thing (/only thing you can even control) is that you PUT IN THE WORK. If you buy books, DO THE EXCERCISES. Do master copies of the artwork/ pages. Read/ study the recommended material. Do the figure drawing streams. Online workshops are cheaper and fast (and great), but they won't get you through the door any cheaper or faster. You'll still need to grow organically. Art school can potentially provide a fleet of drill sergeants and resources to walk you through your journey (or not, unfortunately...), but the decision should be based on whether or not you understand what you need to become, and the most practical method of building yourself into "that" for your situation. For me in 2004, it was art school. Aaand a subsequent lifetime of self-improvement. Getting past the gatekeepers will require nothing short of a Supersaiyan. One way or another, you're gonna need that golden hair. Also, I appreciate the video.

I decided to type the name of the artists of a Deadpool comic into google. I ended up here. Thanks for the awesome perspective! Makes me want to watch the Atlantis films again haha. Take care!
fun fact(not exactly) : In Turkey, there is a mandatory army service once you hit 18 years old but if you are in a college you can delay that until you are 35. So most of people uses that as a tool to delay their army service :) That causes lots of different issues and problems as you can imagine.

I learned a ton in college and I have mixed feelings. I know if you want to work for a company .. Most of the time you need that degree. Sometimes it doesnt have to be related to the field. Not talking about comic field tho.
