I always love getting gear questions “What camera did you use for that shot?” I often answer with the name of the camera, lens, settings and add to the list “and 30 years of experience.” It is cool to see your tools and process though. Is there an industry scanner that is used for comics? 11 x 17 or 12 x 18”?
Hi Scottie love your work, thank you so much for sharing what you use so us mere mortals can dabble. One question... the number 2 pencil is it what here in the UK call 2HB? Again thank you.
Sometimes i wandering when will you share tutorial about how to render refference into your artstyle. I will very grateful if you share some tips about drawing
Love this video. One thing I do think that is important to note on the pencil comment is that if you are inking over the sketch, then yes use whatever #2 pencil you have lying around. However, if your drawing is going to be a graphite only drawing, then I disagree. You don’t necessarily need to spend a fortune and get the whole range of graphite pencils, but you are probably going to want something at least in the 4B - 6B range to supplement your HB and 2B pencils to be able to get those darkest shades. Drawing pencils are smoother and blend better, it is just a fact. Are they an absolute necessity? Of course not. Do they make some things much easier to achieve compared to using a #2 pencil? For sure.
@@SkottieYoungTV You could refill the Pentel with speedball ink probably. Get a syringe to squirt it into the empty cartridge 👍 Put red in in my last one this way.
I've heard that using India ink can clog and dry the tip of a brush pen; have I heard correctly? Do you clean your brush pen out regularly to avoid such a thing?
I have a question. Do you have any tips on drawing on both sides of the page(s) in a sketchbook? Does it have to do with a specific type of paper that won't "bleed" on the other side of the pages?
Thanks for sharing. Can you do a studio tour?
Great suggestions, I picked some up using your links. The perfect Christmas present for artists 🤙

It'd be cool to see a video that shows your digital drawing tools.
Thanks for another video skottie, it was cool to see you use each tool back to back and different techniques etc. Glad you're continuing to upload!
