  • Ronny Shaver of Ronny's Garage presents his second "Hands On" Without Touching ZOOM Technical Meet at his facility in California. This tech meet is being streamed over the internet (instead of being presented in the presence of the usual gathering of car enthusiasts) to be in compliance with all applicable state, county and city COVID-19 ordinances governing social distancing and gatherings during this pandemic. We used an ipad this time and upgraded Ronny's wifi for much better results. This tech meet shows that servicing a RR is more than just an oil change. Ronny has an extensive item check list sheet that he has developed over the years that he uses to do a thorough examination of this 1973 Shadow. This tech meet is in 9 parts (each about 10 minutes in length). After viewing this clip please continue on to view the next clip to view the entire tech meet. If you would like to join in the next ZOOM streaming tech meet with Ronny please email your email address to Ronnysgarage@gmail.com to be put on the invitation list. Congratulations Ronny on your second more successful ZOOM live streaming tech meet! As always, "The topics demonstrated and discussed in this video are for informational purposes only. Many of the repairs call for a degree of mechanical competence, experience and expertise. If not performed properly, the attempted repairs may result in property damage and personal injury."

    Dear Mr. Shaver,
    greetings from Germany.
I would like to thank you for your tremendously in depth videos on all things Rolls-Royce & Bentley, where I have learned a lot, thanks to you.
I still have a couple of videos to view and am very much looking forward to doing so.

    Hi Ronnie.
I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your Rolls Royce Technical forums .
I have subscribed to your channel.
I am in the UK and after watching how you break away the mystery surrounding how these cars are put together and how to service and repair them.
I have recently taken ownership of a rather unloved and neglected 1973 Silver Shadow.
This particular car has been languishing in the back storage area of a local body shop for almost five years after being taken in as a reluctant part exchange for a vehicle they were selling.
The body shop had the indignant idea of turning this beautiful majestic motor car into their shop pickup.
truck . However and rather luckily for both me and this particular Rolls Royce the advent of covid and a busy work schedule meant the pickup plans were put on hold for a while.
In the meantime a few months ago I happened to be in said body shop on other business and noticed at the back of several rows of every day mundane cars was the roofline of something rather special. There she was , a very sad looking Silver Shadow. After looking around the car and seeing the body was in very sound condition as was the interior and after hearing what plans they had in store for this beautiful piece of Automotive art I couldn’t allow this structurally sound car to be chopped up and turned into a pickup truck. Discussions and negotiations ensued and a deal was struck and I now have a 1973 Silver Shadow. The point of this war and peace long email is that, had I , had not discovered your Rolls Royce Technical forums on UA-cam I would never have had the courage or confidence to have bought such a complex and mysterious motor car .
I am sixty years old and throughout my life I have resorted many many cars and lorries and always wanted to own a Silver Shadow but because these cars , at least here in the United Kingdom have always been shrouded in mystery regarding their complexity and there isn’t anyone here like you in terms of someone showing and sharing their technical knowledge expertise and experience in maintaining and repairing these vehicles.
We are lucky to have Introcar and Flying Spares here which again with their amazing volume of stock makes getting the parts very easy but access to all the parts is no good if you don’t have the right knowledge on how to fit them.
I know by now, if you have got this far , you are probably thinking, this guy in England has taken on way more than he realises and is in for a world of pain and you are probably right but as a car lover I just simply couldn’t allow this beautiful motor car to be defaced in this way …..
Anyway, if you have got this far then I would like to thank you for your time in reading this and to say I may be contacting you in the future for help and advice as I make my way through this journey of restoring my Silver Shadow.
Thank you once again for your excellent detailed UA-cam videos on these cars.
Oh by the way if it’s of any interest the chassis number is SRH15250 and the engine number is 15250.
    Kind regards.
    Stuart Lee.

This is great! I have an early Bentley T (basically a Shadow). I did a 5 min video on my experience of maintenance, and would love your feedback, if I missed anything big. We hope to drive the car across country from Philadelphia to CA and wondering if you would be able to fit in last minute oil change if we needed it. About to watch your entire series. Thanks for posting this!

Good to know you have a list to refer to - otherwise I would be very concerned about leaving my car in your 'capable' hands.... more bullshit please.. Lol
