I took your advice and used the plug that you recommended. It started, but wasn't running right, stalled also. Turns out I didn't tighten the plug enough. Surprising how tight it needs to be! Running great now, Thanks!
I have the same machine and it did the same thing ( wouldn't start ) with 75 miles on it. Thanks for the help with getting to the spark plug. I was having a hard time trying to get to it. I changed the plug out to your recommended NGK and it started right up. It has always been a hard starting machine and now it starts better than ever. I cant believe Polaris uses such crappy spark plugs. Thanks again
Great video my brother just bought a new 450 several months ago, barely has any miles on it and it had the same issue, new 4$ plug from autozone and runs fine. Seems like this has been a problem for a long time no clue why they use such crappy plugs but can't wait for my brother to get his 4 wheeler out of my yard.
Thanks for your video I was able to fix my machine with your info. Was actually fun to do. The plug was 3.99 at the local parts store. Bought two will keep one as spare. Two small wobble extensions with socket like you said.
Thanks for the video. My 2020 Sportsman 450 EPS was idling strange and would die randomly while riding. After a fresh NGK Spark Plug, the issue appears to be gone. Will find out for sure this weekend when we get it out.
My brand new Polaris 2022 with one and ahalf hours on it shit the bed I’m out in the middle of a lake ice fishing and it would not start thankfully two buddies of mine showed up to push me one and a half miles back to the boat ramp getting on the trailer brought it back to the dealership here in Maine and loan behold they said the spark plug was fouled wow 1.75 hours on the engine and a spark plug this shit the bed so I’m going to pick it up tomorrow this was an awesome videoThis was an awesome video thank you so much for making it and tomorrow I will make sure that they show me exactly how to replace this plug thanks again safe travels
Very good. I was thinking it was on the other side I had to remove all the plastic. And have to order new plastic push bolts. That's for making the video 👍🏻
I bought my 450 brand new. 2 days later with no riding except on and off the trailer it fouled out. Battery that comes wit it is garbage as well. I also bought a 2019 850 sp which is a monster of a machine and I just bought a 2021 570 premium. Hoping the new 570 turns out well.
Bought a 2021 450 and with only eight hours of use the plug fouled causing it to not start. I owned a 2000 sportsman 500 and this never happened once. I always use premium gas as well. Polaris needs to fix this issue.

@@rickgillard2296 YES !!! spray in some WD-40 or similar and wait a few minutes for it to soak in and should come right off !!! - Let me know how it works for you as it was fantastic for me !!!
@Steve S thanks for the tip..I used some seafoam deep creep..then with the aid of needle nose pliers leveraged against the exhaust it finally came off!
Thanks. Same thing happened to my 18 Polaris Sportsman 450. Dealership installed brand new Champion plug and died after 2 days. It was hesitating and stalling. Eventually it wouldn’t start. Replaced it with NGK 6962 and it starts with the 1st crank.
Thanks to your video when I got my brand new 2020 450 HO home from the dealer I changed the plug the next day.Went with the same plug, a NGK 6962 BKR6E. Only had 25km on the machine when I changed it, figured why risk it?!
I have changed my fuel pump my battery my air filter plug and wire and it still does and black fire every so often I am afraid I am going to be out on it and get stranded and nobody will come and get me
I have a 2016 450 Sportsman. The NGK BKR6E plug will not fit. it it too large. The original NGK that came with my ATV has a screw diameter that is almost an 1/8 inch smaller. OH well, back to Adv Auto tomorrow.

How do you take the blue cap off? Is there a tool or something because I can’t get mine off to change plug out
