The best Germont you have "witnessed" you say. I don't know about witnessing, but I entreat you to listen to some of the great Germonts of the XXth century. There are plenty of great recordings to choose from.
The confirmation that #OlgaPeretyatko is the new Opera Star of her generation is the repertoire that she is singing in her brilliant career. Violeta, perhaps one of the sweetest characters, has a very technically difficult First Act that she sings as if she were singing a lullaby, without any problem. Some will say and where is the High Eb at the end of Semper Libera? My answer is, a High Eb does not make the characterization of a character, it is everything together that defines a character, and wow, Olga gives us one of the brightest Violeta, so feminine, so beautiful, so delicate, passionate, emotional and in the end tears ran down my face. Something had broken inside me, it was my heart and my soul, used to listening to other sopranos who are cold, who think that the First Act is saved with a High Eb, who in duet with Giorgio Germont, are as cold as if each singer was on different stages, there is no communication, they turn Violeta into a mechanical doll. Olga convinced me that #VioletaValery is a human being of flesh and blood, that in her life for a moment she lost her way, but with Alfredo's love she redeemed herself, and that in the end, her Addio del Passato and the final minutes your heart aches, because that's where you know the greatness of this woman, when she gives her portrait to Alfredo. Technically she is perfect, tenderness in her singing, her singing line is perfect, her breathing technique unwavering, her musical phrases perfectly constructed, her singing is a caress for our ears and for our hearts. Me resulta curioso oír los murmullos del apuntador, oculto bajo la concha del escenario, es una figura que prácticamente ha desaparecido de todos los teatros.
My favourite opera mangled by a mediocre regisseur, who has imposed his personal misconceptions to the point of ignoring the essence of the characters, making the singers perform actions that bear no relation to the text or to the music. Not to mention the meaningless handling of clothes and shoes and make-up kit until it becomes really tiresome. Also, what's with this trend of setting a XIXth century melodrama in supposedly modern times. It's not only anachronistic, it makes no sense: who'd give a damn today if the lady has had "a past" or if she and her love interest aren't married! I'm sorry for Ms Peretyatko to have had to participate in this pitiful production.
I totally agree.. too often seen these days, period settings replaced by modern day settings,. it does NOT work and in fact it ruins the original concept.

А я обожаю Ольгу Перетятько. Но здесь , на мой взгляд , чересчур медленное исполнение . Ольга при ее владении голосом обычно поет в хорошем темпе!! ( Тенор " не тянет"?)
Una penosa puesta en escena, habría sido preferible realizar la ópera en concierto, es una puesta en escena de un teatro de provincias, no está a la altura de uno de los teatros más importantes del mundo. En cuanto a las interpretaciones me ha gustado mucho Violeta, y Giorgio Germont, también Alfredo. Buena versión pero echada a perder por la puesta en escena, nada que ver con Solti y Gheorghiu en la Royal Opera House, ni con Conlón y Renee Fleming en la Ópera de los Ángeles. Lo siento mucho porque soy fan suyo, pero tengo que decir lo que pienso.

Ольга! Почему в разных спектаклях ТРАВИАТЫ Вы берете ми- бимоль в 1 действии,а в других нет. В записи Мариинского не брали, а БАДЕН БАДЕНЕ брали?
