"TvP is like a massage. You apply constant pressure. You can't just stab the guy, wait 5 minutes, take out the knife and stab them again."
Harstem really has the best analogies.
A big stupid grin appears on my face *every time* I hear Harstem start to say: "This is as if..." because I know he's about to bestow us with the finest pure gold of analogies. It brings me such joy. Never stop. :D
Terran literally has a building that detects every enemy unit in a massive radius which would prevent the exact kind of disruptor hit that happened. If there's a flashlight in your hand and you refuse to turn it on, don't complain when you trip in the dark.
Man that's deep :D
This analogy is very good.... Harstem will NEVER use it. hahahaha
@@brianfhunter Tbf, when did he reuse analogies? :D
He explained it so well even bronze players understood xD
slow hands ... sensor towers and ive never seen a gm build one at the third before ten minutes
I love the icons that Hamster gave to the players, I was thinking the same thing when I saw the terran's name.
What's the terran's icon?
@@lad4694 Dr. Disrespect, a twitch streamer that always wears these cool ass shades and has a porn mustache.
I just noticed after reading your comment lol
I've discovered that if I make a calendar even in MS Outlook and use the word Densist it places a toooth icon in front of the event name in my calendar automatically :D.
@@momchilandonov and I just discovered that if I go into properties in windows 7, I can change the icon of the audio I’m using :D
"With terrans like you, we're never gonna get nerfed" that's a brutal burn.
God Terrans anti-microing themselves to death never gets old. How can you lose a fight doubling your opponent’s army supply AND having a better position!? I mean…I would do that, then go “god damn am I bad at this game” and then search another one in anger
Colossus is just that good against the marines.
In this game though Terran could have focused this Colossus down... probably... but I guess he didn't because he get scared of it because he have a lot of experience of loosing all army to a single colossus with couple of support units like pretty much all Terran players above Platinum do.
God I love Harstem's search history jokes, I hope Hamster keeps them up
6:27
As a turtle owner, you never want to get between the turtle and it's food.
I would also pick the 7 head monster.
12:59 Dude I was drinking something and I spat all over my desk LMAO completely lost it there!
I laughed so hard at that point in the video. like WTF. 🤣
man that disruptor really carried the whole game on his back
Oh it's HondaCivic! I've played that guy a couple times. It's curious how once you reach masters, you start recognizing everyone on the ladder because there's hardly anyone on it.
I’m feeling that in D1, but I play pretty late at night too
HondaCivic has been on Harstem casts before I think, he was on Rank Roulette I think
HondaCivic is actually pretty good
@@Benjamin-ed9jv that disruptor move, tho. . .
The worst that can happen to a Toss that isn't paying attention: losing an entire mineral line to 2 widow mines at 6 min. Maybe even losing 2 full mineral lines to 4 mines.
Exactly what I thought! And loosing the army with a nuke ^^
i thought the same, and i dont even play the game... i know this by just watching Harstem and Lowko... "you blink twice and your mineral line is gone" - Lowko
was going to make the same comment but less well worded
Dude, there's no way you can lose an entire mineral line to 2 widow mines unless you intentionally clump up your probes 😂 even if you don't do anything, each mine kills 3-4 probes at most 😂
@Table Salt no like you literally cant kill a mineral line with 2 widow mines. with 4, maybe but thats with them paying 0 attention and even then there are still like 3-4 probes left generally
24:43 "If you did enjoy this episode... DON'T!
Forget to hit the like button"
Got it!
Lmao
That first battle at 8:03 should be game over for Toss, the classic death to the first Terran push, because you wanted to imitate the pros with your blink stalkers, and you got jackshit done, and as result of those expensive units you got nearly nothing to defend. It was really something that the Terran managed to not win there.
The little things with the edits always make these so much better… from the little text pop ups to the Honda Civic logo 😂 well done
I played the campaign of sc2 on release and maybe 10 games of 2v2, yet Harstem and these videos have been my favorite stuff to watch on youtube for the past months now. Keep it up captain!
Harstem, especially combined with Hamster is just such a great creator!
same here, i only play broodwar lol but love this series!! maybe someday SC1 series, it IS imba AND you SUCK!
Same lol. I've watched Harstem forever and never even played sc2. The game + Harstem + Hamster are just so entertaining.
Similar, I've played the StarCraft campaigns like two decades ago and that's it.
But watching Harmstem lately actually convinced me to go and finish what I started. Just replayed StarCraft and currently BroodWar, which I realise I never did before. Then on to StarCraft II, see you on the ladder. 😜
Funny enough these vidoes have some useful tips to nonSCII players IMO.. even tho certain race specific / match-up / unit specific stuff doesnt apply, lots of what Harstem calls out if like RTS fundamentals and decision making- def informative and entertaining content, prob my fav RTS/SC related stuff (other than ASL of course)
“What is the worst thing that can happen in a Protoss isn’t paying attention for a second or two.”
6 battleships in your main and a widow drop on your natural while your army is moving out.
When the IODIS turns into Rank Roulette
"As long as there are people like you complaining about not being capable of drinking water out of a toilet bowl ..." -HARSTEM ,so infinitely quotable :)
Danny the Disruptor's critical hit 12:55
what a brave spinny boy
@@ordinarytree4678 We call him "Danger Dan" for a reason!
I was not ready for the toilet bowl analogy 💀💀
I think disrespect just lost all their respect to toss and mentally lost the grasp of the position, after being abruptly disrupted by the first disruptor shot. The performance just got worse from there. -- who is better now and what to do? revenge blinded them and the reckless move-out leaded toward a slippery slip.
13:30 The ultraCHAD Disruptor having so heavy balls it cant help to venture the whole map to kill half an army with a perfect hit then walk away not looking at the explosion like a badass.
"this entire build is an unwanted element" -harstem 2022
3:05 "In case you are wondering, marine did kill the probe"
you know us too well
Thank you for the little card saying the marine killed the probe. It puts my mind at ease
Buying ice sculptures of your dog on a regular basis is a great idea. It was a provider of happiness for my whole family.
Such a great game, that disruptor going all the way across the map and then getting 1100 resources lost was the most hilarious play I've ever seen.
Fun fact! Disrespect got top 64 in dreamhack atlanta, same as Mcanning
I love the little Honda Civic icon in the bottom left lmao
10:07 "My friend, if you were a main character in Harry Potter, you wouldn't have made it alive through the first hundred pages of the Philosopher's Stone" xDDDD
I really like these low gold level games.
I LOST it at the disruptor shot, French fries out of my nose level of lol.
I feel like I should buy an ice sculpture of my dog
thank you hamster, i was wondering.
9:48 is where he snaps on disrespect lol
I was really waiting for "Ok, this guy suck, he admitted it, case closed, see you on the next episode of IODIS!" trick after the opening with the letter.
Love the disruptor bond in the title.
As for protoss looking away for 2 seconds: uuhm... not exactly great complaint coming from Terran.
Widow mine drop, Raven turret drop, and especially: E-M-P. What shield overload?
Terran can drop half the HP of many Protoss units in an area with a clicky (on a cloaked unit no less), and prevent the use of powers like... shield overload... in the same way.
BTW: for your Baneling drops: imo you really should combi-drop: baneling PLUS zergling into an area.
Far more annoying to deal with: weak surviving mining units get rekt by zerglings, then they can start slashing at buildings forcing army response (unless planetary or mass cannons,... )
What's the worst thing that can happen when a Protoss doesn't pay attention for a second or two? Widowmine drop getting 18 probe kills and GG on the spot.
… or you know, a nuke!
@@HamletNOR nah, nuke has an announcment. Can't miss that unless you're not just "not paying attention", but actually afk.
2 squads of fully loaded marine is capable of melting a base in that time frame.
Danny the DIsruptor out for a casual stroll and casually killing half of the Terran bio army along the way. What a life.
At 0:39 harstems reaction is cut. That means the disruptor take was so bad the captain was stunlocked into oblivion
i love how the analogies get visuals now lmao
I am so proud of Harstem for finally using the word colossus correctly. All these times of him calling a single collosus "one collosi" were so weird, especially considering he often criticizes others for their inferior English skills.
Also, great episode as always. Keep up the good work!
Now he just needs to stop saying "Nexi".
@@MarkusBindig true.
I believe I've actually heard him use e.g. "fewer" instead of just saying "less upgrades" in recent videos. So it seems like he's actually improving, I'm hopeful for the future ;)
I love Harstems analogies so much, i'm just laughing my ass off here. IIIODIS is always so good!
There is no glory in taking down a turtle eating a carrot, my man here is a warrior playing the wrong game.
I think I never laughed so hard in a StarCraft II game than seeing this disruptor hit 😂😂😂😂😂 and I watch and play this game since it came out 😅 hilarious, thanks so much Captain!!! 🥰🥰
One disruptor walks into a bar and the whole bar go nuts 🤣🤣
That disruptor movement seems really really suspicious, on top of not having any map vision which is frequently how mhers play, the build was also kind of weird, super exposed but building colossi despite not knowing what was coming. I watched the disruptor shoot like 20 times and the green arrows for aiming the ball happened before he had any vision on the troops, look at 13:29 no vision but he shoots the ball at the middle of the clump. He was also not worried at all about losing his -collosus- disruptor slowly walking into something or a sieged tank. The more I think about it the more I think this was cheated, going to continue watching the game but watching the guy fire the ball before seeing any units is pretty damning.
I'd really like to know if Hamster saw anything else funny in the replay while watching the toss, especially his first person camera
i dont play SC2 but i found the scouting disruptor to be sus as well =]
I was thinking the same, that disruptor walk was really weird for me and very convinient but i guess you can't be sure unless you see the full replay.
was he maybe using it to clear mines or something? with the probe? and it ended up making it all the way across the map so he just booped
we need a followup video: Harstem Investigates
What I can see: The green arrows are movement for the Disruptor. If you try to tell the Disruptor where to use its Nova, it will immediately try to do so even if it's across the map. At 13:29 he has vision of a single Marauder and fires perfectly at it (then redirects the ball slightly for center mass right before it goes off).
What I can speculate: He fired the Nova at a single Marauder because Concussive Shells means a Marauder touching your Disruptor is a free kill. It's "possible" he knew the army was there because the hallucinated Phoenix flying around didn't see them at the natural (and it'd be psychotic to keep your whole army inside your main). Also, having seen some UA-camrs cover maphackers, I've maybe once seen them use a hallucination and even then it usually gets to the back of the base and sits there until it expires instead of looking for info.
Obviously you can see what side I'm leaning towards, but I want to make it clear that I did not entirely rule out the possibility of cheats.
I'm 2 minutes in and the video is already golden, i had to pause it to write this. Love it.
I love how a third of this episode went into analyzing that one disruptor shot
Google search history jokes ( at 6:28 ) continue to be champagne comedy.
6:28 Hamster's calmness being tested once again )
Thank you, Hamster. I was, in fact, wondering.
I like the title, not clickbait, just funny 👍
It is thanksgiving. I am thankful for Harstem. Thanks for making these! :)
In Plat League i do this disruptor thing really often , but I have at least an oberserver at the army of the enemey
BGMWSS: mass disruptor
I love the bing search history
What can happen to protoss if he doesn't pay attention for 2 seconds? Yeah, not like 2 widow mines killing full mineral line or 2 medivacs full of marines killing 20 probes + nexus and casually flying away, lol.
Hence why I now open widow mine drop if I’m having a hard day of TvP. If they are gonna make me salty with storms, disruptors, and dt’s I’m at least gonna make them feel the pain of losing a whole mineral line instantly. Nothing makes me feel more vindicated then having a Protoss player lose a whole mineral line then rage quitting. 😂
@@robertnickerson5368 Funny that this is EXACTLY how I feel about PvT. If I'm going to mald playing against widowmine and liberator harass all game, I will mercilessly disruptor and storm endlessly in return.
@@booyawooya except mine drops are not nearly as effective as some other shit by Protoss (like storm drops for example)
@@geuros there's NO WAY you think storm drops are better than mine drops. Mines cost a fraction of the cost of templars, mines come out earlier than templars, mines are cloaked after armory, they also insta-kill and is not damage over time. If storm drops were actually good, you'd see it more often in pro play. Storm drop are very rarely seen while mine drop is a very common opener at the pro level. The fact that Harstem has a beating grandmasters with stupid stuff with storm drops should be a sign that storm drops are not as good / consistent.
@@geuros templars are excellent units, but it's not because storm drops are good. If anything oracles are much closer to mine drops; hits earlier, does more damage, harder to defend. I just don't think this was a good example you gave.
just downloaded the Game only becouse of you, thx for showing me this game (sorry if my english is bad)
hah. you earned my like with that "the marine killed the scv" banner. nice..
Disruptor does actually live to its name.
"This entire build is an unrefined element" hahaha
Damn! Kevin woke up extra sassy today!
thanks for the note of the marine killed the probe, its all about of thouse intense moves
One of your best, Kevin. I logged back in just to like & comment - that plumbing simile at the end was priceless
Almost as good as the dog ice sculpture. Which was almost as good as the tortoise eating a carrot. Then "I can't even recall.... I feel like I was flaming you about something before...."
15:04 I am so enjoying this :D Kevin start rambling about the AUDACITY of this player to say the Disruptor is broken in a scenario like this, explaining in detail and over the course of like 2 mins why that has nothing to do with the aspect "Disruptor OP" but with the fact "u suck :-)"
I rewinded and laughed loudly for a minute
tvp "massage" analogy was sick
When you suck so much that our rank roulette veteran has to stop the game to confirm your rank.
That first disruptor shot was sus af. He almost fired it before he even had vision.
Very likely because he knew from experience that every terran ever keeps their bio ball on the 3rd base and there was no sensor tower on the minimap. I think he had massive success with such a move many times in the past. He doesn't have map hacks because he was caught off position by attacks several times, like on the first attack.
Harstem, I will never grow tired of your metaphors 😂😂🥰
My favorite part about this is that the Disruptor and Shield Battery did get nerfed not long after this... thanks captain :)
Terran doesn't even have to suffer Widow Mines in mirrors! Who thought their splash not killing SCVs was needed? If they did, you just know they'd be whining about it perpetually enough to get it nerfed.
For basically each thing I've seen actual level-headed complaining about, such as Disruptors, Banelings, and Widow Mines having egregious kill speed, as well as Widow Mines splash-killing Observers, small Hellion counts losing to small Marine counts, Oracles not being efficient harass vs Terran, Hydralisks and Ultralisks being weak, Queens being too centralizing in defensive roles; the majority of the issues seem to wipe away rather quickly at pro level --
As Queens are very strong but are not omnipresent and are too slow to build or expensive to have everywhere, with good Viper usage, the Hydralisk's generalist high-damage nature shines, Oracles don't have to just use pulsar beam, Hellions have huge speed, Widow Mine shots can be manipulated, Banelings are melee, and Disruptors are decently snipable.
What if the ProToss doesn't pay attention for two seconds on their base?
I guess this guy never heard of the unit "Widow Mine" lmao
We watch James bond every Thanksgiving
best toilette paper contest incomming.
Long story short i can for sure grind up to gm seeing this and brag about it with my friends... Online
I only just noticed that the Purification Nova has the same shape as the Disruptor.
The Terran’s control was top tier in some of those engagements. It makes no sense.
I was just watching WTL game from month ago, and I can't help but notice Harstem walking 4 disruptors with no support to the middle of the map and randomly shooting couple bio units when Clem wasn't looking. I think the only explanation is, Harstem is only telling people they suck so other people don't learn his tricks. Truly despicable behaviour. I expect an apology video to Mr Disrespect (not to confuse with a certain Doctor) around Thursday.
2:59 thank you mister editor, but if we really wonder we could look at the toss supply / worker count or the minimap, but again, ty
You're a content MACHINE!
"quick tip, that's sarcasm" ... lol, thanks ?

Disruptors- Widow Mines of the poor.
Bing? come on Kevin!
2:38 'Professional Low Life Gamer' XDDD
i love the title of this video :DDDD
Love your videos!
HondaCivic F2'ing his disruptors into the terran army so many times it quite hurts to watch honestly. Thankfully, he went up against a Terran that had poor decision making.
I have done that disruptor move in diamond, I didn't think it would be a thing in high master, lmao
Lmao with Terrans like you we will never get nerf!
Harstem using Bing search feels on brand for him
To be fair, the first Disruptor shot had some map hack vibes. 13:20
Disruptor going to the army by itself and then basically blindly shooting right in the middle of the infantry? Harstem said it, it's stupid and risky. But less so if you know what's coming.
I wonder how many cloaked banshees it would take to one or two shot disruptors. You could probably Target down the death ball Observer, then immediately swoop in with cloaked banshee and just obliterate disruptors. If that was successful you could then move your bio right on top of them and they would crumple. You could even distract them first with a single nuke. If only I had APM I have a lot of creative ideas for this game XD
Keep it coming champ
Harstem is IMBA!
The Philosophers Stone was probably an eralier Hary Potter book (not gona give googles advertisement algorythms any ideas by checking it out)?
That disruptor move though, the opponent was spam clicking the majority of the attack on the direct center of his opponents army in fog of war. He had really good reaction times despite no scouting or vision also, and good disruptor hits into high-ground when he didn't seem to have vision. Feels kind of like it might have been a maphack? I dunno, but that players play felt a little suspect.
