Harstem tilting on behalf of terrans. Am I dreaming? Maybe our fellow captain is a little high after Zest smashed the competition today in GSL, and finally brought a W for protoss...
Personal opinion: The Zerg WAS actually the better player, but a bunch of serious misplays, which were clearly the result of nervousness and panic lost him the game. Seriously, that part at 15:52 was most telling: He was on the verge of winning VERY hard, but then suddenly sent his entire ground army back to fend off a single reaper... Clearly a misclick that was the product of panic / nervousness.
This is not complaining but actually giving advice for low leagues...also a bit of rant. Worked for me should work for everyone below plat. 3.5k and he plays like a clown. Don't mind the skill but if you're seeing this and you think it's imbalanced then it's like getting cannon rushed and thinking it's broken because you don't know how to counter it. Most build orders have a key part of it though If they watch Harstem so much they should at least have a high understanding of the game unless they watch to have it in the background. He explains everything, shows everything, shows wins and losses, plays everything, talks to other pros, explains low elo, explains absolutely everything there is to know about SC2 and the core mechanics you need to learn. If you watch all his videos for at least a year and you play diligently, reviewing your vods to see what you did wrong instead of playing, saving the replay and sending it to IODIS, you would be able to climb up extremely fast. It's not about playing a lot, but about playing a lot WITH BRAIN. How many times has cheesiest man alive won with stupid strategies or beating grand master with stupid stuff. Even macro games with standard build orders can be won with just the right units and a functional pair of eyes that is paying attention to stuff like idle workers, creep, chrono boosts, control groups. Not everything is imbalanced, if it were Lambo wouldn't be so good at the game and someone like Clem wouldn't be able to drop 3 bases in 1 second while 2 armies are in your third and fifth base. Also a good technique I used back on 2016 to learn the game when I started is that I only played VS Ai starting from the easiest then to the hardest BUT I ONLY could turn up the difficulty if I managed to beat the AI under 6 minutes. This meant perfecting my macro while trying to use advanced micro techniques at the same time. It wasn't easy but it worked, when I started beating the most difficult AI extremely early without any mistakes while feeling confident I went to play ranked as soon as I could and won everything except my last game where I got cannon rushed which I didn't know how to beat then. I used to watch a fuck ton of Lowko and someone called Dragon I think it was back then. I learned so much about the game it became easy to rank up past gold then I stopped playing the game for Rainbow Six and Overwatch. I started again when I discovered Harstem and it's the same story all over again. Now I don't play as much but low elo is not hard. Some people play worse than the hardest AI and also having a custom game with 2 hardest AI helps a ton I almost forgot to mention that. For beginners and people trying to perfect the build order this is it. Not spamming games and complaining, build your foundations first, learn about the game, if you're so keen into playing it so much that you complain online then this is nothing if you really want to climb. Starcraft is a game of player vs player, you have complete control of everything that happens, if you lose it's your fault, it's as easy as that. If you were playing team games it's understandable, you would have to be so good to win more but in this case I don't understand, are the iodis submitters not thinking? Do they not watch all of harstems videos before claiming they're "a big viewer" and sending IODIS? Do they not pay attention to their vods? Are they uncapable of making reasonable decisions with a bit of brain behind them like not go lings against BCs? I've learned so much from watching these videos in the last year and a half that I'm still shocked when I see people on 3.5k mmr making these bronze mistakes. Of course I know not everyone has time to play a lot or watch a ton of videos but if you're submitting to iodis or rank roulette you CLEARLY watch videos and play enough to complain about the game's balance, if you're still bronze/silver/plat and you complain about the game's balance which means you're not having FUN which is the most important part of it all, then I think it's time to stop playing the game and switch to Minecraft vanilla for a while to calm down. Not on hard mode though or else you will think Skeletons are broken and imba and you'll send a message to Bill Gates asking for a fix. In the end just have fun, think while playing and review your mistakes as hard as you can. Don't play just for the sake of it. It will not help your mental state. Believe me I used to play League of Legends haha
Ok even when I was playing SC2 back in the day, I wouldn't use queens as tools of attacking the enemy with, I would keep them at home popping larva on my hatcheries and perhaps this was just me, but I would always try to keep my queen count equal to the amount of hatcheries (and this included micro hatcheries) so there would be one queen per hatchery.
11:00 wait... Terran jumped out with the first two BCs, a second later he jumps back in with two BCs, one of which is slightly damaged, the other full health. How is this possible with only three BC? What did just happen?!
ooh, lool he just jumped like 3 feet with that second BC at the same time as the third jumped there. It seemed weird as it disappeared completely for a second before appearing again.
the implicit balance complain from you, saying: "6 queens gets you to diamond". It is indeed funny. It's even more so given you play toss :D :D :D Thanks for IODIS, has made my days lately!
The Ronaldo analogy had me dying man 🤣 it's soooo f***ing accurate. The last time I played SC, SC2 was only a rumour, I'm now 30. EVEN back then, I'd not have even ONCE considered throwing ling's at BCs 🤣 The only reason that would've been useful is if he's sent the ling's in AHEAD of the hydras, to "soak* the fire while the hydras drop the BCs...the problem with that strategy is ling's die just as quickly as hydras here so...yeah, silly move 🤣 definitely pooped himself and slipped 🤣
to be fair the almost instant teleport on battlecruisers is lorewise extremely stupid.... protoss lived thousands of years to develop their warp technology which takes a few seconds to work and terran just invent the half second teleport wherever they want *facepalm*
the fact that this man is in diamond is a testament to the imbaness of zerg, not terran. roach pushes are strong, specially in NA diamond ladder, where no one knows how to scout
Harstem, the problem is not BCs one-shotting queens because they're so much more expensive and that much higher tier, the problem is that zerg has no anti-air that can deal with BC in the early game except for queens. Which auto-loses you the game as soon as you underbuild queens and T goes for 2 BC with yamato, jump across, delete 2 of your 6 queens and you just have lost the game. So you need to scout T base as well, which is kinda hard if T has SOME marines. It also forces the zerg to almost always build queens when in doubt about the opponent's strategy. That's kinda boring and it's also what the other races keep complaining about. I think that was his complaint about the queen, not queen being a mediocre lategame anti-air.
I dont play but SC but seeing bcs and ghosts hurts my zerg soul. Like... I got that the $hit It expensive and take effort tô build but the fact that the time It gets done It can jump anywhere and screw half+ of your entre base piss off the Noob player in me
A Battlecruiser (without even upgrading yamato) is more expenisve than building a ghost academy, a ghost and a nuke. So the true question is, why does something as cheap as a nuke one shot a queen!? at least it only dies if its in the center of the nuke, but from a zerg perspective, that still seems imbalanced!

Harstem tilting on behalf of terrans. Am I dreaming? Maybe our fellow captain is a little high after Zest smashed the competition today in GSL, and finally brought a W for protoss...
The game with the voids and hydras, happened on the opposite side of this map
Most people probably don't truly believe something is imba but just want to see their replays roasted by harstem
I love my 4;47 BC rush. It's not invincible but damn is it fun xD
This is why Winter has the 3 strike way of judging replays
how the heck did this guy get to 3500mmr? he's got to be lying
How much I love when he roasts a complain at the beginning, with that sarcasm that everybody loves hahaha
"sometimes it's like you guys aren't listening"
xD
the implicit balance complain from you, saying: "6 queens gets you to diamond". It is indeed funny.
It's even more so given you play toss
:D :D :D
Thanks for IODIS, has made my days lately!
infestor + hydra is awesome vs air... the neuro and the swarm thing is rly strong and he has 2-2 upgrades ahead to 0-0
The Ronaldo analogy had me dying man 🤣 it's soooo f***ing accurate.
The last time I played SC, SC2 was only a rumour, I'm now 30.
EVEN back then, I'd not have even ONCE considered throwing ling's at BCs 🤣
The only reason that would've been useful is if he's sent the ling's in AHEAD of the hydras, to "soak* the fire while the hydras drop the BCs...the problem with that strategy is ling's die just as quickly as hydras here so...yeah, silly move 🤣 definitely pooped himself and slipped 🤣
'People will work when nobody is watching ' - you should meet my coworkers...
Love the sass, though
Someone send in a Canon rush and complain about terans building privilege
English Language Protip:
"idea" has no R
It does, depending on where you're from kek
Sometimes I forget the goal is to find imba and not just make fun of people.
hydras struggle against armored targets and bc deals extra damage to light targets. Bc counters hydras
to be fair the almost instant teleport on battlecruisers is lorewise extremely stupid.... protoss lived thousands of years to develop their warp technology which takes a few seconds to work and terran just invent the half second teleport wherever they want *facepalm*
and also invincible during the channeling o.o
did i miss something? Why is there no picture, or is that suppose to be a representation of the BC porting out?
*"SIIIIIUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"*
the fact that this man is in diamond is a testament to the imbaness of zerg, not terran. roach pushes are strong, specially in NA diamond ladder, where no one knows how to scout
They may send the replay for content not really for advice.
I can feel Harstems genuine frustration here.
BC change if it gets nerfed: can only warp to explored areas
That Queen rant had me in tears of joy. You were talking about the band, right?
10:46
What exactly happened here?
2 Battlecruisers warp out
2 warp in
There are 3 bcs
Is this guy cooldown hacking?
Nvm... I see what happened
He had f2 all bcs and jumped on the queens
@@lelouchvibritannia7809 Yeah, one of the BC's pretty much jumped on the spot ^^
Just became a Patreon supporter! Keep it up man!!
yessssss
Like... I got that the $hit It expensive and take effort tô build but the fact that the time It gets done It can jump anywhere and screw half+ of your entre base piss off the Noob player in me
Sick Lowko burn at the end. Had me laughing^^
This vid was sent to test Harstem's patience. A massive trolling xD Great video man!
Hydras are my favorite unit, have been since SC1. Even so, I would never go hydras to answer battlecruisers
The guy should have got a spire as soon as he saw the fission core/bc's
A Battlecruiser (without even upgrading yamato) is more expenisve than building a ghost academy, a ghost and a nuke. So the true question is, why does something as cheap as a nuke one shot a queen!? at least it only dies if its in the center of the nuke, but from a zerg perspective, that still seems imbalanced!
A nuke rush would bê really cool tô see hahaha
The Voice of Hamster!
you can start to feel harstem slowly get more and more (actually) pissed off.
stay strong man.
