All the comments criticising the father you clearly don’t know that it’s literally the worst idea to jump in there after him no matter how much you would want to. Both of them could wind up dead
This. Former lifeguard here. The father 100% did the correct thing in the situation. In almost 100% of situations unless you’re trained for water rescues as a lifeguard or first responder you should wait for someone who is. Drowning victims have a powerful instinct to get their heads out of the water and often end up accidentally drowning someone who is trying to save them. It’s also Chicago so that’s Lake Michigan. It’s deep, VERY cold water. You can go into shock just from hitting the water if you’re not used to cold dives. If you aren’t trained on rescue swimming then the absolute best thing to do is try to maintain visual contact with the victim in the water and wait for somebody who is trained
To all cricitsising dad for not jumpin. Not longer tahn 2 months ago 4 homies from my town where chilling next to iced like with a dog. One second the dog run on ice after a duck. His master went for him, the ice collapsed. # others went to help him. Now 3 of this for myoung man are dead. This is called thremal shock. (The dog survived)

Started to watch Chicago Fire but had to stop before Shay's death, when I found out what was going to happen. I love her in Lucifer and that whole series is perfect but still, the Chicago writers are too happy and reckless to keep writing off all these main characters! Chicago writers could actually learn from the writers of Lucifer!
@@fergussharp7954 Actually, the chest compressions are correct. If you're an adult doing cpr on a child, you should do it with one hand. Regular two-hand compressions (especially done by young adult sporty guy) would be too strong for a child. And for fun fact, if you're doing cpr on a baby, you only use two fingers.
@@the_teri yep. A baby needs your 2 thumbs and a child needs a hand and a adult needs 2 hands if your a adult. If your a child doing cpr then its 2 hands for child, 2 hands for adult, and your tumbs for baby. I'm registered in cpr by St John's Ambulance babysitting course.
Hi sweetie. I may not be your mother but i do recommend to not share your age. Im gonna guess your either using your parents account or your parents set their age on your account and allowed you to make a acc on here.
If I see a kid in the water I’m jumping tf in, I got early water rescue training for pulling children out of the water, btw I hate the father actors so much, in a proper situation a parent would be screaming like a crazy person, tears flowing and just in full panic
bullshit. the father is in shock and hes hella smart for not jumping in. All of your amazing early water rescue training is gonna be useless once you go into shock because of the freezing cold. And how exactly are you going to get both yourself and the kid out of the river? Even the firemen had to use a ladder. And whos gonna take care of the other children, who are probably also panicking and might endanger themselves? The father is doing the only right thing.

3:05 He's wearing that stethoscope back to front. They should point forward because the ear canals are angled forward. But nice effort otherwise.
haha lol i just saw that he wouldnt hear anything lol
Biggest pet peeve about medical shows... Wear the stethoscope the right way 😕
