Awesome did not know their was two screws holding it lol ugh it was driving me crazy. My cable for hot cold binds up when I put it on heat. So no air I think I need freon now. GJ!
Hey, really good video and I appreciate the high quality and clear instructions. My aux cord jack broke off on the inside of the radio, so you have an idea how I can get that out without unscrewing the radio out with a t-15?
Same thing, I need to see how you did the wiring, I had my stereo basically hooked up, but I didn't figure out why the stereo wasn't turning on. I'd like to know where you found power to get the stereo to turn on. For now, I have the stock radio back in place until I can figure out what wire to tap into.
I bypassed the after market plug for the power wire. i cut the power wire from the OEM plug that goes to stock stereo. MAKER SURE YOU CUT THE IGNITION WIRE NOT CONSTANT POWER WIRE ONE VERY important cause if you hook it into to constant power your radio wont turn off when you turn key off. and if you hook it to the wire that only get power when key it turned then it will only feed power to radio when car is on and shut it off when the car is not on.
John Weaver III can you make a video showing this. I know very little about doing this, had somebody install it and it turns off when the a/c turns on. I'm thinking it's not connected to the right wire.
Yeah someone hook it into hvac controls unfortunately I'm sorry but I can't don't much more to help it was on a friends cars that I don't not have access to on a regular basis
you prolly dont give a shit but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all of the latest series on InstaFlixxer. I've been watching with my girlfriend recently =)
Hey Thanks for the video its a big help. I have 1 question tho, i noticed that behind the radio there is 2 connectors but when the video skips forward there is only 1. What happens with the second connector.
+Kenyon Boykins yes try cutting the power with from the radio sode off of after market plug and find a wire that get 12 volts only with key on a hook it to that that way your radio powers when key is turned
+John Weaver III ok so I take it that means the red wire from the radio and hook it to maybe the clock wire or maybe bypass the wiring harness and plug the radio red wire straight into the red wire of the cars harness which ever give off 12 volts
Either way you only want 12 volts with car off or your radio wont turn off i think the clock has consistent power to keep time time directly to factory 12 volt supply with car on
I tried replacing my radio but the small harness doesn't release the key had some trouble till I took the aftermarket radio of and plugged the original back in any answered to or how to by pass that small radio harness?
I see you have a jack aux in, did you build that in yourself? if yes do you have a schematic or a manual I could find to build one in myself? good and clear video btw!
I heard you say it comes with the kit, is that the radio kit? I saw the radio was Kenwood, how do you make sure you get the Kit with the installation bezel with the round plastic built into it. Thanks
I have a 2006 pt cruiser without any information on how the wires work there are two blacks and two reds so it seems confusing. We tried to install a new radio and are 90% sure what each wire is for but not sure enough. Do you have a way to show exactly what each wire would be?
So how do I deal with the extra CANBUS wire cluster in my 2007? Is there a way to wire it into my cheap aftermarket harness? Is that what your talking about when you say 12 volt constant?
well if you want power the cam you would want to hook power into something that powered in reverse like maybe reverse light then hook the monitor fr it in to the same circuit so they both come on only when in reverse
hello i have a question about the 2 plugs on the stocked wire harness from the pt cruiser. My car is a 2009 and it has the 2 plugs, i wired the after market wiring kit and there was no second plug adaptor
Yes if you are not getting power there may be a fault in the after market wiring harness. if that doesn't fix it find your ignition power not constant make sure it only give off 12 volts when key is turn to accessory. then look at your diagram for after market one with it 12 vlot accessory wire and just butt connect those two together and that should solve your problem. Sorry for late response. comment if you need more help
What wiring harness did you use? Im hearing all different things from all different websites. Crutchfield reccomends buying expensive adapters. I just dont know what to get
Them doing that wouldnt stop the went from switching i can almost guarantee you are going to need a blend door actuator. There is a couple in each each one for where the air is as in Front, Feet, Front and Feet, Or Defrost and theres one for hot or cold. So make sure you locate proper one. Pull it out and try to leave it pulled in and then change the air location and see if it moves there should be a knob on it that moves when you change it. Hope this helps.

I have a 2006 PT Cruiser and some of the lights in the climate controls and the buttons to the switches that control the windows (both front seat and back) have burned out. When I tried to find out from a dealership what kind of bulbs that I would need to buy to replace them with, they tell that because those devices have led bulbs that are integrated into a circuit board, that they whole unit for the Heater/AC switch and power switches for the windows need to be replaced, and from the dealer the price is about little over 100 dollars for each, or over 400 for all three items. If anyone knows a video disproving this because I find it bullshit that they would design it like that so that you cannot just simply replace a burned out bulb in it.
