I truly appreciate this woman so much. Her recipes are simply explained and the results are exactly what you’d expect. Delicious food. I was never taught to cook traditional Puerto Rican food. And I be learned so much from you
Just wanted to leave this comment to say how much I appreciate this channel. I am a millennial that cares for her parents and disabled brother, and I cook for everyone. Being the head of the house now, it's easy to stick to making a few traditional Puerto Rican recipes and forget the rest. This channel is not just a blessing to remind me of how to cook everything - but it's the best resource I have found online for all of our dishes and desserts. What you've built and created here is irreplaceable and honestly one of a kind. I pray this channel always stays up because I know many others are in a similar situation as me where we are the heads of our house now and want to keep these recipes alive. It's bittersweet being the only person in my life who can make these recipes for myself and my family, but with this channel, I feel like I have a bit of help that I normally don't have on a daily basis. Thank you for being a blessing. I hope you are well. You deserve all good things in this life and I hope God blesses you tremendously.
I just made this and ate an entire bowl thank you so much for sharing your how to recipes I am half boricua and I’m trying to learn how to cook this helped me so much ❤️
You warm my heart!! I LOVE this rice.. Had a grandma neighbor, Vicky, from P.R. next door who made this and it was delish!! She has passed on now but now I can make this recipe and remember that sweet woman!! The only thing she would take salted fatback and cut it into little squares and fry before adding everything.. Maybe it was just an older way of making it .
Hello Ada, I love your recipes. You should be on Food Network. There are different hispanics other than Mexicans (no offense to anyone but true). I appreciate you. ❤
I just wanted to tell you your videos are always amazing I will always give your videos a thumbs up and this is another great recipe I will have to try very soon
You never disappoint! ❤ i came looking on a chance that you had this exact recipe as i had extra corn and wanted something different for tonight. I haven't made it in many years so i needed a reminder! Many thanks again ❤
I have made so many of ur recipes and each time they come out perfect. I loveeeeeee your recipes. Im making ur pernil and rice and peas for dinner this Sunday
You are an amazing cook!!! I am Rican and though I know how to cook, you taught me to cook many recipes that I could never get right and I thank you for that. I am most proud of the fact that it was my husband that found you on UA-cam and because of you, he has become quite the chef. He is not Rican but has embraced our culture and food. He is retired now but I still work and because of you, I come home everyday to a wonderfully home cooked meal. THANK YOU!!!
As soon as I saw you posted a rice video I was hoping that you would do the spoon trick! I am gonna try it when I make this rice tomorrow night😁 Thanks Ida!❤💚💜💙💛
Hi Ida! I've been watching your videos for almost a year now and just wanted to throw out a little tip. I'm not a Spanish speaker, but I think the fact that you make Spanish versions of your videos is amazing. To save your energy and time, you may want to consider doing voice overs. You could record one video of you cooking, then narrate in both Spanish and English. That way you don't have to cook twice. Just a suggestion, but other than that, your format is great. You really don't need to change a thing if you don't want to. I love the way you cook food and I am looking forward to more fun recipes. Peace and blessings from California.
Hi sweets and beyond. I'm a big fan. I love all of your recipes because they remind me of my grandma 😊 but i had a question about the sazon. Why dont you use your natural sazon recipe instead of the packets? and if you do so do you still have to put the oregano, cumin and salt in it? Also can you use half a can of tomato sauce to give it color? Thanks so much for your time
Yesss Ida. Excuse my language but that shit looks soo damn good. Makes me want to make it right now and I got Seafood in the oven. OMG I love me some fluffy rice. I tried your Pernil recipe and it is the best Pernil I've ever had. You do your thang lady. Loving these recipes. Thank you for your time S/n: I would really love that Sofrito recipe. I know its slamming good 😚
I didnt pat my meat as good so my skin was semi crispy. Next time I will definitely pat it really dry. The way she mixes up the seasoning is perfect. The fact that she doesnt add Sofrito or Sazon had me skeptical lol. I was truly impressed because it is the bomb.com
Will you do a video on how you clean your rice pot? Sometimes when I clean mine I soak it with water and soap but there’s time where no matter how much I rinse it it has a soap taste when I make rice lol
Rachel Gionfriddo rinse with cold water idk why but it takes it away the hot water intensifies the smell I had the same problem and you may even have to use less soap like no dawn brand use a less concentrated soap ❤️
I don't think she added the salt because she said her husband liked it as it was. Taste for salt after you add the oregano and the cumin. Remember she used fresh ham so that also adds salt to the recipe.
I can only do 1/2 tsp of sofrito! More than that and my rice tastes only likes sofrito and no one eats it! Can you taste only sofrito in your rice? I don't know why that happens to me.

Hello dear.. Can you make yellow rice plain with no corn or ham?
Yummy!
Will you do a video on how you clean your rice pot? Sometimes when I clean mine I soak it with water and soap but there’s time where no matter how much I rinse it it has a soap taste when I make rice lol

I swore I thought I seen you in Bravos one day lol
Probably lol
My News years resolution is to cook more and eat out less, I look forward to your videos.
I can smell it yummy,,,,!
🤤🤤
When do you add the salt?
Hi ida. I just had a quick question. Do you have a video of just yellow rice. No corn or ham? Thanks
JOSETTE SANTOS No I don't
Sweets and Beyond could I just omit the ham and corn. Or use the Jamon seasoning instead of the ham
How many cups of rice ,?
Can u use medium grain?
Yes!
Aida, when did you add the salt?
When I added the water
Thanks. I made it and it came out awesome. Loved it!!
YUMMY, YUMMY, YUMMY I got love in my TUMMY. thanks to Ida and her videos
that's what my mother taught me
what kind of ham do you use?
I used regular coking ham.
When did you put the salt???
I don't think she added the salt because she said her husband liked it as it was. Taste for salt after you add the oregano and the cumin. Remember she used fresh ham so that also adds salt to the recipe.
I can only do 1/2 tsp of sofrito! More than that and my rice tastes only likes sofrito and no one eats it! Can you taste only sofrito in your rice? I don't know why that happens to me.
LaNenaDRocky Not really. It doesn't taste like sofrito to me at all.
have you ever made your own sazon?
Yes. I have a video on how to make your own.
Too funny I sent you that msg and than searched and found non other than your video. Thanks for all your videos they are very helpful.
Yum! 😊
Wait, so no salt?
Probably forgot to film me adding it. 😞
@@sweetsandbeyond I ended up putting the salt, it came out delicious. Thank you 😉💋🙌🏼
Definitely making this tomorrow.
