Maybe the real Julian Rush died in Arkham and not quit the job. Maybe Sofia's father had him killed because Julian thought Sofia was innocent. But, the Julian outside of Arkham, or the present day one, could very well be a figment of her imagination. Our imagination still needs a foundation. And the foundation here being the likeness of Original Julian.
I was thinking that too. In one of the earlier episodes when Sofia brings up that Julian left Arkham, he says, “I left because I had to.” Like maybe because he died.
In episode 6 when he appears from nowhere in the kitchen, Sophia asks him "What are you doing here?" He doesn't live there so, if he was real, he would've been escorted by a henchman to see Sophia! Also, he has a moustache that looks very similar to the one on her father. Could that be a manifestation of Sophia's psyche?
@@DigitalCharcuterie The moustache is not a perfect copy, but Sophia was in Arkham for 10 years and wasn't released until after Carmine's death, so she didn't really see her dad and only formed the Julian Rush image from her memories. Now, the scene where Sophia had sex (that we didn't actually see) with Julian might have been either a slight Oedipus thing or a way of saying that she is screwing her father over (going against his wishes for the family). Makes sense. When her brother told her she wouldn’t go to trial becasue the doctors deemed her unfit to stand trial she immediately said Dr. Rush wouldn’t do that as if she knows him more personally then her brother said it was dr Venturas who was her assigned dr from the very beginning. Then you see dr rush oddly waiting for her in the cafeteria and she pretty much ignores him then proceeds to bash magpies face and no signs of Dr rush? Why wouldn’t he rush in to stop her no pun intended.
Dr. Venturas is the lead / senior psychiatrist, so he would have the final say regarding any legal issues / her fitness for trial. Rush wouldn’t really have any say in that matter, he was more an assistant.
@@Day-ZDuke still doesn’t negate the fact she immediately referenced him and said he wouldn’t do that. What would make her think he wouldn’t? Nah! He has interacted with several people, both in Arkham and at the Falcone mansion, even without Sophia's presence. If he is only in Sophia's mind, he couldn't be anywhere where she isn't and he wouldn't be in the room with Frances and the guard before Sophia arrived. Besides, she clearly turns off his hypnosis device, which further proves he is real.
He let Sophia know that her niece wanted to talk to the police because she saw something the day of the murders. If he's in Sophia's head, how would she know about that?

I had a feeling that neither he nor the 'psychopath' that wanted to kill her are real. Maybe even her brother that came visiting her wasn't real. She does things and then replaces reality with her imagination. Oz should have known this first.

He is real. Makes no sense for him not to be. She called him for help. She was in his office. He has been acknowledged by other people. Also he isn't any other character.
He’s not real he’s really a member of a motorcycle “club” and he’s hiding out in Gotham under a fake name he grew his hair to hide that tattoos on his skull.
What If it's 50 50 he is real but not all the scenes are him. He's manipulating her making her see things that aren't there So he can get in and profit from her
_You don't spend 10 years in a psych ward enduring that extreme treatment and trauma and walk out normal._ _He isn't real._ _or at least the version of him that she continues to interact with isn't real._
I am going out on a limb here and saying Professor Pyg. Theo Rossi is way too talented not to be. Mark Strong as Carmine Falcone was a stroke of genius. And who knows maybe he ain't truly dead. Or perhaps he's actually Clay Face.
I cant wait for him to be just Julian Rush, and no one else. Even before the show aired when people found out he's playing a doctor at Arkham it's been, "He must be Scarecrow! He must Hugo Strange!" The fact that it's kept going this late into the show when there's really been no hints or teases he's actually someone else is mind boggling. It would be so dumb if he turned out to be either of those characters. It's such a lame, lazy cliché to take a character no one knows and try to do a twist where they were actually someone else all along! Just give me the character straight up without that crap.
Umm of course he’s real we saw him takings oz’s mom himself to the Monroe club I think it’s called at the end of the last episode. So if he isn’t real what happened oz’s mom took herself there?!? He’s real he’s just a new character that’s all I’m sure
@ the one thing that debunks that whole theory is that we in fact saw a real desk with a real dr. Julian rush name on the desk which means that’s physically real so she visits a real doctor in that moment for her therapy so that eliminates the idea he’s a figment of her imagination.
There’s plenty of proof he’s real. I feel like the people who think he’s not are just piggy backing off internet conspiracies and didn’t really pay attention to the show. He’s literally introduced to her by another doctor when this video starts 🤦🏽♂️ how can he not be real and introduced at the same time 😂
this show has been way too smart to stoop this low. "all in the head" troupe is too overplayed. He's either Hugo Strange or Hush of this verse. Leaning heavier towards Strange

it's been a bad theory seeing that one of her men brought him into her mother's bedrooom while she was getting dressed before the meeting where she offed Vinnie

Pretty sure that’s how DID works but ok. It makes sense
I would much rather subscribe to this idea (even though I'm not 100% on board) than Julian Rush being a legacy character.
Yeah I kinda hope he’s just Julian Rush.
Julian spoke to the other doctor who tortured Sophia in Arkham I think his name was Ventrance in the earlier episode. Withered in his ear are you sure
Yup! I bring that up. Good catch!
We’ll find out Sunday!
He let Sophia know that her niece wanted to talk to the police because she saw something the day of the murders. If he's in Sophia's head, how would she know about that?
I saw someone say that Sofia may have just figured that out on her own.
I just made a fun video based on a ton of comments of people who believe he is in her head. I did my best to see if I could prove that theory correct. We’ll find out Sunday!
I like the theory he’s either mad hatter or hugo strange
I’ve done videos on both of those!
I’ll go give em a watch brother
Thanks! I’m really hoping for mad hatter in this universe!
I think he is real, he just has deeper connections so he can come and go as he pleases.
Thinking court?
@@DigitalCharcuterie yeah
Yeah I’d love that!
Julian Rush is the type to go sit in the audience for a live taping of The View
💀💀💀
Maybe Julian Rush is actually Jonathan Crane
Interesting thought… Julian Rush REVEALED His Part in the Batman 2 and Clayface
ua-cam.com/video/jtBKo1aEqHg/v-deo.html
Lol
I had a feeling that neither he nor the 'psychopath' that wanted to kill her are real. Maybe even her brother that came visiting her wasn't real.
She does things and then replaces reality with her imagination. Oz should have known this first.
Love it!
He is real, somebody opened a door to let him into thebroom for her then closed the door after him.
Gonna Rewatch fight club
It’s happened twice; a henchmen let him into the dining room before Sofia shot Jonny Vitti, and in last episode a henchman opened the door to let him in the room
Also, who’s house was Sofia in after getting rescued behind The Icebox, if not Julian who she called to save her? Who gave her the light therapy in his house in early episode?
Gonna watch fight club
Watch what ya fooking like bottle nose dolphin dose not make a difference he is real... when oz mam was having her chat with him little therapist session the red light were nkt real either. After fight club why don,t ypu watch i could not give a bollox sheep dog.
What?
Umm... IF he actually isn't real... or worse, IS real...
Pull up a photo showing Julian Rush, without the beard (of any kind), just the kinda curly close-cropped hair, the mustache... now, pull up a picture of both Carmine Falcone's, and try to blend both in your mind.
How different is that image, really, from the Rush one?
Unlike some, I can forego seeing the Episode 8 preview. Why risk being given a spoiler? Tomorrow is the finale, so one more sleep of anticipation will be good for me.
I saw the trailer and will tell you it shows things but also shows nothing at the same time . I’ll leave it at that to not give anything they may offer you, away to you
The proof for me of him being real is what I saw at 20:20 in episode 7 at the beginning of the boiling kettle scene
Cause the door was opened for him?
@@DigitalCharcuterie Yes. I was bought in to the theory of him being imaginary up until that point but the fact that someone else basically interacted with him threw me off, though you could say that maybe she also imagined the guard too but if Rush is already in her head I dont see why he couldn't of opened the door for himself or it have been left ambiguous as to how he got in the room
Yeah definitely a red flag for this theory. I just continued to get these comments and thought it would be fun to talk about it. I appreciate these interactions!
I never thought about it b4 but he might not exist for real. That would be a cool twist
Honestly I didn’t either but I was getting SO many comments about it!
@@DigitalCharcuterie I hope it turns out to be true. It makes sense given Sofia's fragile mental state
Yeah it could be an effective twist!
@@DigitalCharcuterie 😀
Rush was handed a file from someone on the right in the first 10 seconds of this video
He was!
Rewatch episode 8 and tell me how any of the scene in Monroe’s happens if he’s not a real person.
He may end up being the ScareCrow or another smaller lesser known villain.
They are changing the names to certain characters. Oswald Cobb
This video was done before episode 8 and was based on a lot of comments I received. Thought it would be fun to investigate and look into it. After all, what’s the point of UA-cam if not for conversations such as this.
Yup they’re changing names. My thought after episode 2 was scarecrow
There is a woman who gives a document to Rush when Sophia arrives!
Blasphemy! She’s a figment of Batman’s imagination LOLOL
@ 😂
I just subscribed. I got you bro
Thank you! Appreciate it
Probably was real initially and after release she imagined him with her. He was at Arkham at the end when he had supposedly quit.
Yeah this seems logical
@@DigitalCharcuterieof course he could have been in her head at the end there too.
@@gobucs3146 I think the letter from Selina though...but that may have been someone else giving it to her
He talks to Francis because she too sees figments of her imagination like Sofia because of her health ailments. He's fake.
Love it!
Comment section is defining ignorance
Welcome to UA-cam LOL
It's The boys Show all over again😅people who saw the last season knows what im talking about
i think he isnt their because he quit when she got out and all the sudden she goes back to arkham and hes back as a doctor now. thats not how working for a mental hospital works.
It is bizarre!!
They don’t explain how or why Sofia started seeing Rush for I guess hypnotherapy sessions, and it is a little weird they now have this dom/sub thing going on like where did that come from
Yeah he just sorta hovers all the time
He is real. Makes no sense for him not to be. She called him for help. She was in his office. He has been acknowledged by other people. Also he isn't any other character.
K. Gonna go watch fight club
I have thought about that theory and maybe Sofia was the actual hangman and her father knew she killed her own mother?? Maybe??
How would a little girl have hung a full-grown woman like that? Then the scratches on his face aswell?
Yeah the real hangman killer could still be out there
Pretty sure he is real
He’s not real he’s really a member of a motorcycle “club” and he’s hiding out in Gotham under a fake name he grew his hair to hide that tattoos on his skull.
🤣🤣🤣
Oh, he’s REAL!
Already have done those videos
What If it's 50 50 he is real but not all the scenes are him. He's manipulating her making her see things that aren't there
So he can get in and profit from her
Highly likely for sure
The henchmen let him in the room.
I have to Rewatch fight club.
Julian rush is dr. Light
👀👀👀
If he isn't who'd she have tied up in that chair doing the freak?
No one. lol
_You don't spend 10 years in a psych ward enduring that extreme treatment and trauma and walk out normal._
_He isn't real._
_or at least the version of him that she continues to interact with isn't real._
Excellent point!
I am going out on a limb here and saying Professor Pyg. Theo Rossi is way too talented not to be. Mark Strong as Carmine Falcone was a stroke of genius. And who knows maybe he ain't truly dead. Or perhaps he's actually Clay Face.
In this video I mention professor pyg and I LOVE that theory.
You know…clayface was rumoured to be in this series a couple years ago. So…
He is the scarecrow
Did a few videos on that
I cant wait for him to be just Julian Rush, and no one else.
Did that video!
He he doesn’t exist then by all means the joker that shank Arthur doesn’t exist either.
He might not.
Umm of course he’s real we saw him takings oz’s mom himself to the Monroe club I think it’s called at the end of the last episode. So if he isn’t real what happened oz’s mom took herself there?!? He’s real he’s just a new character that’s all I’m sure
Sofia took her there and Francis never speaks to Rush. It’s not as far fetched as you’d think
Fight Club.
@ the one thing that debunks that whole theory is that we in fact saw a real desk with a real dr. Julian rush name on the desk which means that’s physically real so she visits a real doctor in that moment for her therapy so that eliminates the idea he’s a figment of her imagination.
Good point!
I think he is imaginary as well.
It amazed me how many people commented they thought that! We’re gonna find out in a few days!
There’s plenty of proof he’s real. I feel like the people who think he’s not are just piggy backing off internet conspiracies and didn’t really pay attention to the show. He’s literally introduced to her by another doctor when this video starts 🤦🏽♂️ how can he not be real and introduced at the same time 😂
Maybe but a lot of people comment it and maybe he was real and maybe she created him after and maybe that was in her head.
Fight club style
@ but Oz’s mom had a therapy session with Rush while a henchman stood there and watched in the back ground 🤔
And fight club had Tyler fighting other people
@ he literally flashes in the movie lol also I do not recall scenes that showed Tyler without the narrator (Edward Norton)
I haven’t seen it in a while. But doesn’t he make soap? LOL
Julian Rush is real. Batman is imaginary.
Oh? Am I wrong? Well... who's been in the series and who has not? 😉
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice
Thanks
No, Julian Rush, along with all the other characters, are made up and exist in a fictional show called The Penguin.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nah, he’s a B grade villain, like Hypnotic, Spellbinder, or Dr Milo.
Already did those videos lol
this show has been way too smart to stoop this low. "all in the head" troupe is too overplayed. He's either Hugo Strange or Hush of this verse. Leaning heavier towards Strange
Gotcha covered: Hugo Strange? Scarecrow? Who is Dr. Julian Rush
ua-cam.com/video/DdlJQneyfp4/v-deo.html
Very cliche, if true. The Boys just did this, as well as Mr. Robot.
It’s funny cause in the longer version of this video I mention the boys and Mr robot. But Hollywood loves cliches
@@DigitalCharcuterie I will say that your theory does make sense. We know nothing about his character and he doesn’t interact with anyone other than Sofia.
Thanks, it’s really not my theory it’s more saw a bunch of comments on my previous videos and decided to run with it and see if it works. I think it could work, I’m hoping he’s connected to court of owls lol (my first theory on him was he was scarecrow)
Reaching hard af
K or not, but whatever
Anyone who STILL think Julian is a figment of Sofia’s imagination … LOL 😂
Have you seen fight club?
He's either Ras Al Ghul, or he is not a real person.
🤔
Or
.. he's just Julian Rush. The illusion idea is weak writing. This show has shown great writing. I don't think this is a viable theory.
Already did the “he’s Julian rush” video 😃
Hmmmm remember the scene where she deleted Johnny and threw the money in his blood and he stood back while everyone else was getting the blood money? He was sitting @ the table but standing back and no one acknowledged him
Yup
There has been at least 2 instances where another character outside the asylum directly interacted with Julian ; a henchmen let him into the dining room before Sofia shot Jonny Vitti, and in last episode a henchman opened the door to let him in the room
Also, who’s house was Sofia in after getting rescued behind The Icebox, if not Julian who she called to save her? Who gave her the light therapy and in who’s house in that early episode, if Julian isn’t real?
Good points and all mentioned in the video.
I’m gonna Rewatch fight club
DID is a real thing and this could be an exaggeration of that disease
That’s such a dumb theory. My friend said it and the whole, “he was a hallucination the whole time” it the most infuriating trope. I hate it so much.
You can hate it but I wouldn’t say it’s dumb.
@@DigitalCharcuterieI kind of hope he’ll be a mix of Calendar Man and Scarecrow. He has the same first name as Calendar Man
Yeah!! I did some videos on those theories as well (scarecrow was my first suspicion for him). I hope we see more of him!
This can’t be real…? 😑
Like Julian?
He's so boring.
LOLOL
He is called The Calender Man....thee end 🤷🏽♂️
Done multiple videos on that. When you watch this video you’ll see why it’s being discussed

Appreciate the support: Hugo Strange? Scarecrow? Who is Dr. Julian Rush
ua-cam.com/video/DdlJQneyfp4/v-deo.html
Yeah it has been a common theory for a while now. I mean it makes sense he only speaks with her and nobody else
it's been a bad theory seeing that one of her men brought him into her mother's bedrooom while she was getting dressed before the meeting where she offed Vinnie
@kenyattacoleman7284 And yet never spoke to anyone else except Sophia. I am not sayin he ain't real but...
Yeah like I say in the video, every penguin video I do I get MULTIPLE comments that they think Rush isn’t real
Fight club
I hope he's scarcrow
Did that one: Hugo Strange? Scarecrow? Who is Dr. Julian Rush
ua-cam.com/video/DdlJQneyfp4/v-deo.html
I understand you didn’t make this theory, but it makes literally zero sense. It’s just another nonsense theory that they’ve made. This annoys me because sometimes when their theories just get debunked in the show, they get mad at the writers for not doing it.
Julian brought one of those red lights in to talk to Oz’s mom and there were henchmen in there. He’s real.
But what if Oz’s mom is a figment of her imagination also? LOL joking
I got a LOT of comments from people having this theory so I thought it would be fun to do a video and work it out
But man, I didn’t think it would upset people this much lol (not you, in general)
