Hi Polina, thank you for making this video. It was slightly different than other exercises I had tried for malar bags and was an excellent workout for the eye muscles and cheeks. Plus, I felt my stress levels dissipate. I plan to add it to my daily routine. My malar bags developed almost overnight (4-5 days) after having Botox in my crow's feet, and the bags are still there 6 months later. I tried laser resurfacing, and the laser resurfacing made the malar edema even worse. Since it happened, I have incorporated eye exercises and face massage into my daily routine, sleeping in an elevated position, and less successfully, eliminating alcohol, sugar, and highly processed foods from my diet.

Sometimes our bodies react in the ways we don’t expect, the oedema under the eyes sounds like your lymphatic system’s reacting to the presence of Botox ingredients in the face. I would also recommend trying a gentler lymphatic drainage massage (no oil), with rhythmic pumping movement over the face to stimulate the flow of lymph and removal of toxins and for better cellular turnover. You can see it in my recent video of Face Yoga for Better Sleep. I salute the nutritional pivots you’ve made in your diet, that’s brilliant, I think it will be really helpful in minimising the malar bags and oedema. Polina

Your might also need to do specific techniques that help you de-puff the face if you have fluid retention as a result of allergies. i'm 20 and i'm gonna start doing this exercise with other lifestyle changes because in the past 2 years my eye hollows got really bad due to malar bags shifting down and it's affected my appearance. Do you have specific video recommendations i feel like my cheek areas not as lifted as before and everything looks pulled down + my skin looks dull

I just discovered you and this process seems very doable. My problem is the muscles in my face are different from my friends. I have no pad in my cheeks. I have longer upper lip. I never got the wrinkles around my eyes and the edge of my face and have always looked 10 years younger than I am. But now the tear trough has extended down to the middle of my cheek and made a C down to the corner of my lip. Will your exercise still work for me?
Hi Barbara, thanks for your comments, it's really difficult to say whether the exercises will help with very strong tear troughs but you can give it a go and see if they do lessen. I have a feeling they will be beneficial but don't expect miracles💆♀let me know how you get on and track progress with before and after photos every 4 weeks or so🌸
After doing this exercises,My face felt so relaxed as if I could take a nap. Is this normal? I plan to spend time every day working on these muscles in my face,Also can these exercises be done upon waking while still lying down?

It’s not uncommon to feel relaxed after doing Face Yoga, you’re stimulating lots of acupressure points while doing exercises that may help your nervous system to relax, hence that ‘sleepy feeling’ :) yes you can do these techniques in the morning if you like, just make sure if you’re lying down, you apply proper positioning of the fingerpads as indicated, hope this helps, Polina

Hi Fivi, thanks for your comment. You can do this routine 1-2 times a day, 6 days a week and you should be able to notice improvements within a month. If you have very prominent bags, you may not be able to complete diminish them but it will certainly give the whole under-eye and cheek areas a big boost. Hope this helps. Polina
When i do that second exercise...i feel the back of my scalp contracting...just where the top of the neck merts the skull...am i doing something wrong? Sure is a strange sensation...didnt know i could move my scalp there LOL
Thanks for your question 🌸 interestingly enough what you're feeling is the movement and contraction of your head fascia (connective tissue). When we raise the eyebrows in the second exercise, we engage the forehead muscles which wrap up and over the top of the head all the way down into the back of the neck ! So it's not surprising you feel the pull as far up as the back of the head. What you can do, is to massage your scalp with your fingertips from top of the head to back of the neck (right into hair) after doing this exercise to release any strange sensations in there. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your question 🌸 you’re too young to have malar bags at 17! so if you’re generally healthy, then it might be lifestyle related (sleep, diet, etc), so tweak those and see if it creates results for you :)
Love your videos thank you. I have a question, when I do the upwards smile and press uppepr cheek into my fingerpads I don't feel anything. Is this normal or maybe I'm doing wrong? In the video you say "this was quite intense" and I'm always not feeling that
Many thanks for your question :) it's normal for the upper cheek muscles not to feel this at the beginning, as the muscles get more 'primed' you'll be able to feel the connection in them straight away. Try and connect internally to the upper cheeks (mid cheekbones) when you do this exercise and visualise the small lifting contractions there. Visualising the action of the muscle help us connect to it more and it will help with muscle activation and feeling 💆♀🌸
