Verdine White is such a great bassist- and on these live performances the sound was so “bass forward”. Gratitude is still one of my mood lifter go to albums. Almost 50 years listening!
Tremendous group at its best and with its best songs, Sing a Song, Saturday Night, Shining Star, I danced and loved all those songs, thank you once again Midnight Special!!!
This was out when I was a teenager but I was into music such as Kiss and Led Zeppelin but now I'm old I find I taken a liking to lot music I didn't like growing up.
Saw Earth, Wind & Fire in concert several years ago - they had EVERYONE in the huge venue UP and on our feet dancing-together-as-one huge-party! 🎉 🎉 They were great!!! 🎉
This was my first 45... About a month later my father tapped me on the shoulders I took the headphones off he handed me $5 and said go buy another record... I listen to this song so many times that a concerned my parents
This is GREAT! Thanks for posting this. I was too young to see this, but I’m glad I can c it now. They sound great live! Dead ass audience but the real fans are diggin this. RIP Mr. Maurice White.
That must be a REALLY young Phillip Bailey. I wish the post-production had done closeups on that first vocal. But I saw him a couple times with EWF and he was terrific of course. I heard he rejoined the group but I’ll have to research that now later. But it’s funny because I think at 1:22 Phillip either forgot the lyric or maybe Maurice - I think that was his name - stepped on his toes there perhaps.
I really appreciate it this show however I don't see why all the artist have to play the songs faster than they were recorded are they on the time frame???? are they running late???? They have to catch their plane 😮😮😮😮
Johnny Graham playing trumpet?!?!?!?!!? Wow....we've never seen that anywhere. This is VERY EARLY and they are all so young!!! Verdines afro!!!!!Before the horn section came in ...we need the rest of this broadcast...History here....
One of the greatest bands of all time - in their prime. Incredible.

Hey, The Midnight Special, it's Earth, Wind & Fire (with the ampersand), not Earth, Wind "and" Fire.

Quite the opposite, that's Maurice's line that Philip started to sing. I hadn't caught that before, thanks.

ジョニーグラハムがトランペット吹いててビックリ。この頃まだフェニックスホーンズがいなかったのね。
I DARE you to be in a bad mood after listening to Earth, Wind, and Fire!
If you can sit still for this band you need to be checked for a pulse. Such great stuff!
Long before the Phenix Horns, Andrew Woolfolk and Johnny Graham (!) were the EWF horns.
pls post Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like We Do 💜💜
