@@anthonytaylor7928 After their appearance here, their career started to fall before signing with Brazilian musician/producerDeodato who produced Ladies Night in 1979 which contained Ladies Night &Too Hot which both made it to #5 on the Disco charts. Finally being inducted into the Rock and Roll HOF. It's sad that we've lost all the core members with the exception of Kool. Rest in peace to them all ❤
I’ve always felt this is maybe the all time greatest “funk” song. Parliament had some classic funk pieces too, but this jam just hits the inter-planetary funksmanship vibe the most for me. 😂
Love that they are finally being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year 👏🏾👏🏾. Robert is the only living member of the original group. I really hope JT Taylor is with him wjen accepting the award.
Congrats finally on this band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hame of Fame. Great music that we don't hear nowadays. Will be watching the induction this Saturday!!
First time hearing this was at the roller rink in fort myers Florida. Back then we had one AM pop music and one country radio station, we were not exposed to most of the funk music. Moved to Tallahassee in 1980 and discovered WANM am radio and discovered all that I had missed as a teenager! My skating days are all but behind me now I do on occasion take my grandchildren to the rink but the music is not the same.
I remember my mother giving me the $2 that I worked my butt off for to see them at the Uptown Theater in Philadelphia. I was mesmerized. I still remember Johnny O from WDAS calling Kool to the egde of stage to say hello. They closed with a tune called; Kool & The Gang. 🎉
Kool was ultimate Cool, and as far as “gangs” go today’s youth could learn a thing or two on how to truly represent. What great vibes, what a great era. Screw Rap, I’ll take funk any day.
Puras obras maestras produjo esta impresionante banda. Cuando la música se interpretaba de manera natural y perfecta, no como el horripilante ruido de hoy en día. Saludos y bendiciones desde el bello Cancún 🇲🇽🌴🐠🌊🌞
They are certainly fantastic here, it's kinda like Chicago in the Terry Kath era, they were leaders in their musical style and cashed in, in the 80s. Not a perfect comparison but songs like "Tonight" and "Fresh" seem like walks in the park compared to this sorta funk.
@@JohnSmith-op1tc When I heard The Force album I couldn't believe how bad it was. That's when they lost me. Didn't like any 80's songs except Raindrops because Chucki did it. It would have been a hit but had a terrible mix
One of the best funk/disco bands ever! You can’t stand still listening to them! 🎉 🤩💃😎💜
Shake it, don't break it!
@@brötzmannsax 😂 Will do... I mean, I won't do? 🤣 💃
Name one disco song they made? Name one?
@@anthonytaylor7928 Open Sesame. It's on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.

The custom suits👌
Are so cool!!!!!
They're fresh.
Loved it. I can't leave without saying something about Summer Madness being one of the great instrumentals ever.

They should have been inducted in the R and R HOF a long time ago!
REAL MUSIC WITH REAL MUSICIANS AND SINGERS!!!!!
even back then in the mid 70's. those brothers were MASTER musicians.

One of my very favorite songs when it came out. ❤❤
Loved Kool & The Gang! ❤
I remember when "Celebration" hit the air waves. Best party song there ever was!! 🍾
Happy Sunday 🕊 Thank you for sharing! 💖
That was our senior prom song 😁 Still love it and get up to dance when it comes on!
@@MedusasFeelinSalty It never gets old! 😊
I think I was in the 6th grade when Celebration came out. I made a tape recording of it off the radio so we could listen to it any time we wanted.

Skating on Sat nights! Man I miss those days!
Friday nite, Saturday afternoon then sneak into 17 and older session that ended at 10:00 pm on Saturday night. We lived at the rink on weekends!!
Alright!
They were FANTASTIC in concert!! I LOVE this song 🎧❤🎉
I remember seeing them in concert with KC and the Sunshine Band, Roger/Zapp, Sister Sledge and One Way. 1980.
Dope Solid
Kool and the Gang were tops last week playing this and Jungle Boogie, may they all rest in peace with Kris Kristofferson forever!
every time i hear this song. i think of "roll bounce". underrated film.
Great stuff!
The original masters
Enjoying Pasquale's Pizza and garlic cheese bread while playing this on the jukebox on Panama City Beach.!.!.
From the brilliant Wild & peaceful album. Before they drove off a cliff with Ladies Night, Celebration, Too Hot & Joanna.
A picture from this performance was used on the gatefold of their 1974 album, Light of Worlds.
On the eve of my fourth birthday. Still have the tux
That’s music!
How curious! I DJ'd this song last night and a few hours later you publish this. Nice! xD

Cause she's KOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Grooving and those horns! Glorious!
Gotta be the best video on the net
Funk used to be a four letter word (G. Clinton). Great swinging perfomance from the Gang
Nice. And that, boys and girls, is the way. It's. Done.
any funk tune that features the Clavinet D6 I’m all in!
Absolutely 👍🏾
Still the best!!❤❤
