Peter Bol forgot what is he was there for. He's there to run like the wind..like we know he can and get that finishing time down the 1.43s/44s. For him, this is where the gold medal comes from, not prancing around like a show pony for the first lap and then being subject to a final 200m sprint race and finishing in the 1.48s. The Kenyan played him off a break, sucked him into a sprint race, which the Kenyan knew he would win. Peter Bol was led and controlled by Kinyamal, not the other way around. Peter Bol was reactive and ran with fear, not with the courage of his strongest quality which is to just run the pants off the opposition. He will regret this one for the rest of his life. If you're going to come second then at least don't die wondering.....
All true, brilliant analysis @ peter littlestar,. Bol was sucked into the event horizon, and forgot to run his own game plan. He was like minor moon of Jupiter under the gravitational pull of Kinyamal. He made the typical rookie mistake like what you see in an Olympic 1500, until Stewart McSweyn kept the bas..rds honest, by running race pace from the get go, in the lead up and into the OG. Now 1500m is great again - especially the CW Games crown victory. Bol will assess and refocus, and hopefull be great some day. He has the talent.
Pattison could possibly have run a better tactical race and improved on his position. Once he got out of trouble he didn't really lose any ground. He will be a very good 800m runner when his tactics are right.
This race was dope
A shame Bol no win
This guy Kinyamal isn't he a 400m specialist, when dod he start running 800m

sometimes an opponent will just defeat you on a certain day. I am sure Bol will learn from this, and do even better in his future races!

It's not always easy to defeat the only Kenyan on the field.
Kinyamal's season best at the time was a second faster than Bol's, so he didn't really have a whole lot of choice in my opinion
U DONT MESS WITH US KENYANS! We have been in this game way longer than australia's African recruits ! We know their game!

Agreed. He looks promising and has some 'growing' still to do because he looks a little light physically...but very quick so the future looks bright.
Dam navasky did too much work by getting blocked off.
Pattinson could have won if his tactics are not that bad getting boxed in
