- So let's talk about a few things. I wanted to put a video out about this new deal that is in place. I know not everyone will be happy and you can come after me for trying to explain why there are more good points than bad but it is what it is. I will put a link in the description that should take you to a very helpful article that I was referencing. I think this is an important deal for the future of our sport. I can only speak from the side that I know which is how this business works and what we have to think about as a group. Please always know everyone is of course entitled to their own opinion I just want you to be open to maybe accepting some true information about what could be good about it and that everything is not ALL bad. Hope you enjoy!

I cannot believe people are complaining about this (other sites they are). The Fox deal is the best Indycar has ever had and will help the teams tremendously with sponsorship. Only thing we need now is Connor Daly in a full time ride!!
Having all practice sessions and qualifying live on Peacock for $5.99 a month was a GREAT deal. Plus the added bonus of the race replays. That’s a bummer losing that.
@@tweek218 yes but did you not see the streaming deal that will be on offer? You are NOT Losing the ability to see all sessions.
@@ConorDaly22 oh yeah I don’t doubt that I’ll be able to stream all the sessions somehow. What I’m doubting is the ability to do it for $5.99 a month lol
@@ConorDaly22 that streaming deal is phenomenal. All content from Fox, TBS, TNT, and ESPN!! You can count me in since all I watch is racing and hockey. I’m sure it will be in the $40-$50 range, but if I don’t need anything else, I save massively.
@@ConorDaly22 the streaming deal is fantastic. All of Fox, TBS, TNT and ESPN in one place. As far as people concerned with replays, that’s what DVR is for, and UA-cam TV, if you want to go that route has unlimited DVR space.
Big fan of the channel and your career Conor! Would love a video about your ideal perfect IndyCar schedule
I have mentioned it in the podcast a few times! 20 races, a few more ovals. Surfers paradise in australia. thats a quick summary hah
I'll miss the $20 a year Peacock deal every year (currently going on), but nothing like that lasts forever. Having the exposure for the series like this is excellent, even if it makes my cheapskate-ass have to pony up a bit more.
Will anyone see this comment two months later? I don't like the shorten season length either. I think the teams need breaks throughout the season. Would it be possible to extend the season into February with warm weather locations?
I mean I completely agree with you. I don’t like the short season either! Hopefully there can be adjustments in the future
I’m all for every race being on Fox Fox Sports one Fox Sports two just as long as the commentators are IndyCar guys not NASCAR guys
I never signed up for Peacock and don't have cable. My only option to watch live events is over-the-air. For everything else, I go to highlights or replays on UA-cam.
I'm thrilled that my favorite teaching series will be on big FOX. I get that there's concern about how bad Fox has been with NASCAR, but this complaints are typically related to poor production/direction. As I understand it, IndyCar does its own production through IMS Productions, the network brings the on-air talent and graphics.
I agree that it's probably great for our sport, but not all of us can afford $80/month for fubo or youtube TV. They need to find a way to make it more affordable.
I dont think any official price has been named yet for the streaming service Indycar will be available on.
Being on one channel for an entire year is so nice as I won't miss wondering if it's on NBC, Peacock, or USA. UA-camTV takes care of all the complaints with FS1, FS2, and an unlimited DVR. More money, more airtime, and more eyes, this is the deal we needed.
i agree!
$80.00 per mo, to rent crap of which 99% you don’t use v $5.99 per mo, for something you just need 1% of. 🤔
@@DustyTail not sure where you get that number from? But still. All the facts in this deal are more eyes to the sport. I fail to see how others can’t see this. It might not be right for the small group. But better for the majority
Please no nascar commentators. Bring Kevin Lee as play by play he does a great job. Bring Hinch and Bell over too maybe even PT
You mean Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick can't offer their expert knowledge of Indycar racing... LOL 🤣
#1love the michael andretti shirt.
#2 pay wall never bothered me for good coverage I don't know how to feel about it as a indycar and nascar fan. And fox has been actively hurting nascar viewer ship for a while. They have had the worst coverage I've ever seen of racing in the last few years. Peacock NBC has done a phenomenal job with it all. I remembered the first year of peacock them having like 2 races was annoying but it's gotten sooo good. And now that fox is done ruining nascar they gotta move onto indy.
Lol they there only paying 20MILLIIN A YEAR.
XFINITY 2ND TIER SERIES GETS 100 MILLION A YEAR
ONE CUP SERIES RACE GETS MORE TV MONEY THAN A WHOLE YEAR OF INDYCAR.
No wonder why Indycar teams have no money
Insert Homestead oval instead of Thermal Club and add another race or two in the gaps. I guess limited international expansion is on the far back burner for now.
As a kid who grew up without cable and still doesn't pay for TV, it's utterly astounding that people don't realize that regular FOX is a free channel. You can go to any hardware store, pick up a digital antenna, then plug it in to your TV and scan for channels. Sorcery! They don't know what it was like to watch Sesame Street, Dragon Tales, CyberChase, Wishbone, Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman, all that good stuff. You can watch most NFL games on free TV too, you don't need NFL Network to watch your team's games when you're in its regional viewing market. This is the most accessible way to watch sports, you don't have a monthly subscription fee, you don't even need internet, just buy a TV and an antenna and your set. Hell you could even watch while camping or on the lake!
Which sorcery do I conjure up to solve my line of sight blockage of the Fox signal?
Not everyone lives where antennas are usable unfortunately.
People know about fox and digital over air broadcast. Many are too stubborn to “go back” to antenna tv. I’ve used digital broadcast since 05 when first came on. Before then I used analog over the air. Digital over the air is at a higher quality definition too than digital cable, dish, or stream. That’s something many don’t know about.
The Issue is you only get FS in a bundled pay for pkg. Whereas Peacock, while it had other content, the base price was only $6 mo. YT tv as example, has FS 1 and 2 but it’s $73.00 per mo.
Problem is FS 1 is not over the air. That’s where all the nxt quals and practice will be. For all I can tell
@@inglewoodwhbThere is a web site where it lists at your location all the digital broadcasts in your area. And the signal strength you can expect along with the direction of the broadcasting station. It’s interesting and helpful.
Digital antenna may say Omni directional but it still has a stronger aim in certain directions. So aiming the antenna will help along with hight How high matters too just like the analog antennas did.
I put mine in attic. Some DTV antennas come with a booster and they can make a difference.
Love my antenna tv. Especially when contract negations between comcast or dish or whoever and my local stations cause a disruption of service to all the stubborn. 😊
Overall I think it’s a fantastic upgrade.
I couldn’t agree more though about needing to fill out those first couple months of the schedule. That’s going to be brutal having a month between races, followed by multiple weeks between races. Hopefully the influx of cash will provide the opportunity to add a few races going forward.
Appreciate the information and breakdown! Thank you, Connor!
Indycar on Fox should help the sport. I am excited. 🏁
glad to hear it!
I am SO STOKED for this!! This is a great deal. That TV time is such a boost for sponsors, especially potential sponsors and manufacturers cause now they're gonna see that the series has ALL races on FOX and would be stupid to not say, hey we wanna ride with Indycar and give them a new engine and or chassis and new/more big time sponsors. Not to mention that there's been talk of needing a new car for 2027. INDYCAR is in a fantastic spot to flourish and right the wrongs of the dreadful open wheel split in '96😢 that ultimately led to NASCARs popularity spike and overall financial superiority.
Hey Conor, I'm sure you guys chat with owners and Roger Penske about adding potential new markets or markets previously used for a race. That first part is brutal with 3 week gaps and then BOOM. Definitely need at least two more races and should be markets that are well known and stable and very proactive and aggressive in promoting the series.
Thanks for the insight. Much appreciated!
I just use a cheap HD antenna for NBC, CBS, Fox etc. $20 no cable bill.
They better keep Hinch!
i agree
Excellent post, Conor. All day, I've seen folks make comments on social media clearly without reading the actual articles posted. You break it down nicely for those who just read headlines, and little else. I loved NBC's coverage, but this is a very good deal, and it can only be ruined by FOX's choice of the broadcasting crew. I hope they put a lot of effort in selecting a great group.
thank you!
@@ConorDaly22 BTW, I hope you are talking to FOX. As someone who has recently retired after spending 49 years in television, I think you've gained enough broadcasting/media experience to explore the possibility of working with the FOX team. Podcasts, LVGP, SRX ... with those experiences, it's time to move into a more regular gig. You are great with the younger viewers and can be quite an asset to gain that segment, and FOX as a network, skews to a more youthful audience. Yes, still pursue a ride, and of course next year's 500, but start talking to the suits at FOX. Besides, if it comes down to an Indy only gig for next year, that could only enhance your participation as both a regular broadcaster and competitor for the month of May's coverage. Now get on the phone and make some calls!
To me, Indycar had to do something different. NBC was a great partner for a while but they seemed to have mailed it in of recent and only cared about the 500. It's never going to be a perfect deal but it does tick a lot of boxes. Ending in August means you gotta start sooner maybe a week or two after the super bowl. I get you have to find track/s that want Indycar and it's gotta be a good climate but worth a shot. Any attempt for races after August would have to be on a Tues/Wed night when there's zero football on. Let's see how it goes and hopefully the changes Miles talks about for 2026 schedule are why the 2025 one looks the way it does. Gateway and Iowa at night always
Where can I read about him changing the 2026 schedule?
Even though this doesn't directly impact the TSN deal for Canada (which they do place a few races on their streaming only service, which is a paid add-on, not included with TV subscription of their cable channels)... having all main races on FOX means I'll never miss a race as a Canadian cable subscriber, and I'm perfectly happy with that. I'd love it if Fox Sports Racing up here was able to pickup practice/qualifying/nxt... but at this time it sounds like that won't change (IndyCar prac/quali on TSN+ streaming only, and IndyNXT on RevTV a niche cable channel). Look forward to seeing how it goes for 2025, and hopefully it is a positive cause I otherwise 100% realize and agree with the points you made about consistent viewership and better for sponsors by having the main races 100% on network TV.
glad to hear this for canada!
Having the nascar on Fox theme played for the indy 500 would be weird…
haha hopefully there is a new theme!
Must admit I'm a UK-based fan, so I watch Sky Sports (thank goodness we don't have adverts), though oour deal is up at the end of the season. I do not understand why people are moaning about this. It is all on one channel, more money and more exposure for sponsors. NBC done an excellent job but do hope the graphics will be improved, we get more indycar explainers and more fun sagments.
completely agree here
Bro I got your diecast at RA, wish I would've seen you there because I would've asked you to sign it
I would have definitely signed it!
The great thing about Conor is that even if you've never seen him before, you feel like you've already known him for years!
haha, i appreciate that.
Just give us Townsend and Hinch and that will soften the blow.
Definitely hope for our sake!
I think this is great for Indy Car. I think it's the smartest decision to end before the NFL season and one of the reasons people love the NFL is because it is so short. So that is good.
My issues with the Fox NASCAR Broadcast are as follows:
- Too many random shots of non-action while drivers are fighting for position. Who the heck cares if a guy is eating a hot dog.
- Tight shots of cars when multiple cars are fighting for position. Show the wide angle.
- The use of a ghost car during qualifying taking the mystery out of if a guy will win the pole
- The use of Michael Waltrip and Clint Boyer. We don't need ADHD broadcasters!
- The fact that xfinity and truck broadcasts are remote. Announcer need to be at the track to understand what's going on. It's just Fox cutting corners. If they don't want to put in the time and effort to get the broadcasters to the event, then don't do it.
Thank you Conor. You explained it all very clearly.
no problem glad it was helpful!
I would like to see Indy Car going from March until early Oct.
Good, too many ads during the races on Peacock.
Have you watched a NASCAR race on Fox? All it is is commercials. It's the biggest complaint from fans.
My only issue is the #12 a month for Peacock will now be $50 a month for the FOX/ESPN/Venue app. That is a huge increase for people who only watch a few sports mainly Indycar and NHL I will have to wait and see the exact details of the packages offered for streaming.
Imagine living in Canada with TSN holding the IndyCar broadcasting hostage on TSN+ (which does not include on-demand streaming!!!!) with basically zero races on any of the main cable channels - TSN1 - 5. Here is hoping that the FOX sports channels we get being a border city will actually broadcast them for PVR recording...TSN is actively killing IndyCar in Canada
In the words of Zangief from the movie Street Fighter, QUICK! CHANGE THE CHANNEL!
Schedule could be better but that's... IMO outside the scope of the TV deal. Maybe if we get more support we get more tracks. Then we'll have to deal with complaining about being on cable!
I was afraid of the Fox deal when it was supposed to be significantly FS1/2. That was going to be bad. All network - I personally don't care but this is huge for the teams, sponsors and series. And more money? Big, big win. 500 qualifying on network TV, I hear? massive. Most underrated watch in all of motorsports.
Peacock was straight up bad. I liked the quality, but they'd put commercials over the racing (particularly side by side) and replay wasnt' available for houuuuuurs after a race.
Thermal points: Sigh. I'm against the 'automotive country club' movement for a bunch of reasons. If it keeps shredding tires, maybe it's an interesting full length race. However, for a points race, they're going to need some expanded spectator options.
I will miss Diff and crew. I'm sure some might get hired by FOX. I think Diffy is under contract with NBC for other sports. If so we will lose him.
I've posted a couple of comments on this video and I hope I'm not coming off negative. This is a huge deal for Indycar. I think this will grow the sport way beyond what NBC did.
Marshall Pruett was reporting that NBC also made an offer that included having every race on network TV. So if that’s true, that means they had the ability to reap the benefits of a network TV deal, and retain the same broadcast team and streaming partner. Instead they chose Fox, presumably because of the bottom line.
NBC’s nascar broadcasts are better than Fox’s and I’m concerned the same will be true for IndyCar.
that is in fact not true. NBC could not put every race on network tv. so that is the main reason why this deal was chosen.
Good to know. I feel a lot better about the decision with that in mind
This was primarily meant to cater to boomers and little kids. I’m cool with a paywall because the only ads I see when I watch anything are during Indycar races. Old people still watch cable and you can just slap kids down in front of a tv. I get it but I’d rather stream it wherever I’m at personally
Didn't know you had a UA-cam channel until now. Subbed. But you're right. It'll be a work in progress on programming but it is definitely a step in the right direction.
Not all of us are lovers of football
Some of us haven't seen a minute of NFL in several years, and don't miss it a bit.
Ironically I subscribed Peacock one month out of the year.
My first reaction to the Fox announcement was VERY negative. As I’ve looked into it further, I agree there are a ton of positives for IndyCar. My biggest concern, like so many others, is Fox’s handling of NASCAR but that could be alleviated with some of the talent from NBC coming over.
Specific issues with Fox’s NASCAR coverage outside of the commercials, they tend to zoom in on one or two cars for extended periods, which doesn’t provide a wider picture and a better view of the overall racing. They cut away from ongoing battles in the middle of them, they often miss accidents or lead changes due to commercials. Beyond that, there are times that Fox really doesn’t treat it like a top level series.
However, if IMS Productions is involved as suggested, that also could cure some of my concerns.
I think we have a lot to be positive about. but of course not everything is perfect.
Rabble rousers going to rabble. You could tell them 10% faster and the ability to not get aero locked and someone would complain. I hope the deal comes with a bigger check and some realistic cross channel advertising. Thanks for your take.
Can we get a Indy car game now or what?
lol i wish
👍
Great for IndyCar! Maybe not so great for me personally. I primarily watch on NBC. When races are not on NBC, I watch on Peacock. I also like to tune in to INDY NXT, practices, and qualifying on Peacock. I don't always watch intently, but I like having it on in the background in case something exciting happens or they interview drivers. For that alone, it is totally worth $7 even though I don't use Peacock for anything else.
To move all that content to a cable package (not happening), Venu (~$50/month), or UA-camTV ($60/month), that is a HUGE jump in price. I don't see myself getting into other sports which help justify that sort of cost. If you're already into that stuff I can totally see this as an absolute win! But if you're me, I see myself watching only races on FOX and cutting out all the extras.
Yeah if it’s more than $6 bucks I will not purchase. Yall keep your bundled garbage, I won’t ever buy crap I don’t use. Never.
I use Peacock quite a bit actually. Indycar, Supercross, and WWE.
Only reason why the season is ending end of August /Labor Day weekend is because they are out of the way when NFL season starts, College football is also starting that weekend. I would love to see more races...perhaps IndyCar should look toward adding a couple warm locales in late January/ February. All in all, I think it's a big day for IndyCar
we need more races for sure!
I'd say they should add one the weekend of the Pro Bowl Games and another one the weekend after the Super Bowl.
Inevitably there will always be someone to complain about something. Yet, if this is what helps the sport grow, and get to a broader audience, bring in more fans, bring in more money, then lets do it. Because once, the base grows, then we get to tackle the next thing, more races, which everyone wants.
“I also got a ring light” 😂
My concern is about how the races are presented on Fox. I don't want to see IndyCar being presented the same way Fox does its NASCAR broadcast. Each series' broadcasts need to be distinct in how they are presented as much as possible.
What about our favorite INDCAY commentators like Leigh Diffey, Townsend Bell & James Hinchcliffe??
they havent announced anyone on the commentary side yet. Very curious to see who they go with!
What a waste, thermal should never be used.
Do the paywalls have a safety barrier?
Bring back Eddie Cheever!
You don’t realize just how good Leigh Diffey, Hinchcliffe, and Townsend Bell are until you watch a NASCAR broadcast. I hope those three are brought over because the Fox NASCAR booth today is not great..
i will be very curious to see who they go with!
Will you be adding more races to the schedule? I'm from Chicago and it would be nice if you could back. I think Mexico City and São Paulo, Brazil and Japan or Europe race would be cool. I understand you end the season in September for NFL season, but you could start the season earlier like mid February.
We definitely need more races!
Anytime a network offers more money. That’s a good thing! Fox has to deliver, but I think the investment will hopefully pay off
We need 20 races ..( squeeze more in).
completely agree. 20 races I believe is the magic number
i never liked Peacock anyway
Don't love a Thermal Dud points race instead of a 2nd Milwaukee race but love all races and both days of Indy 500 qualifying on big FOX instead of cable. Great exposure for a series that desperately needs it. Hope they promote the series not just the Indy 500.
Texas not returning is also a bummer. Indy shouldn't be the only superspeedway on the calendar.
I wish there would be an F1TV or WEC style subscription service without commercials. I was okay with peacock but I'd have paid double if they had a commercial free option. Also, I can clearly recognize with this be a boon for the sport and I'm glad it's happening.
Commercials are definitely frustrating I can understand that
iam somebody that watches every practice , qualifying , and Indy nxt races so for me this a huge step down from peacock... peacock is so cheap and convenient.
sadly you're a part of only a small group of people. we appreciate you a lot! but peacock is not where the majority of eyes are.
I'm confused by the very Olde Worlde distinction between 'cable' and 'streaming'....for all intents and purposes they've merged into one and the same. Nobody has an actual cable TV pipeline into their home, it's all via the same line (mostly fiber optic) and if you use Apple TV, Roku etc. all, I mean ALL content providers, especially legacy TV networks, have apps that you can watch their content on live, on reply, whatever. Ditta mobile apps. The fact that IndyCar will now live exclusively in one branded place, Fox (however you get it) is a very good thing. They're better marketers than NBC (and they couldn't do any worse) have younger better demos, have been innovators in sports--especially racing--coverage and I'm sure will have some things to add, and will see this as a blank slate opportunity to exploit the recent DTS explosion in racing interest in America and expose them to what is, event on event, a FAR more entertaining, competitive, badass open wheel series than F1...if they avoid the cheeseballness of the NASCAR stuff I totally agree, it's all good!
lots of good information in this comment. thanks for your input!
The schedule came out and Nashville being on Labor Day weekend next year. Can we get a Sunday NIGHT race to finish off the season?
that would be cool for sure
Conor, why are we not returning to Texas Motor Speedway? Or, just Texas in general?
I wish I had an answer for that one. I think the main problem is that no one attended the race sadly.
Unfortunately, whatever decision is made will bring people that complain. Ultimately i think this deal is a good thing. Forget about the "but fox broadcast sucks" people. Over all, this is a really good move for Indycar hring more eyes to the sport and showcasing on a national stage. The biggest thing that i like is that NXT will be aired as well.
Thank you for seeing things clearly! Hah
Watched practice and quals on peacock. If No $6 stream then its crap. Nobody does cable. Nobody.
I don’t do bundle ripoff deals either. Peacock was perfect. For less than a price for a beer at Deer Creek I have Indycar for three months. Way worth it.
All local nfl games on broadcast. Most others too. Swift has nothing to do with it’s popularity.
Think one channel all events on same national over air broadcast is fantastic. But having to miss practices and quals for races because they want to charge me $20+ for crap I don’t use will suck.
youtube tv is literally $80 dollars a month to get Fs1 and Fs2 ...peacock is $5.99 a month ... this fox deal is only good for people that just watch the races but nothing else ....but for those of us that watch every session its a major blow ...peacock is so perfect.
I'm more shocked at the calendar. I'm hoping gateway is evening event because it's too hot and humid. I'm hoping we see times for races soon.
extremely hopeful it's a night race
This is definitely beneficial for the series, fans and sponsors to be on network TV for all races. Just wish IndyCar could host a few more races to extend the season. Fantastic the schedule has been released which will benefit additional promotion. Could this new tV package potentially be the impetus to roll out a rules package so new cars can be produced by multiple suppliers (just wishful thinking).
i also still believe we have to get to 20 races a year. Not sure how we do that yet but it needs to happen eventually.
Conor to the Fox booth???? LFG
Indycar racing is gonna be nowhere near as entertaining without Leigh Diffey. As long as I can watch both qualifying and the race, I will be ok with that. I always watched everything on Peacock because less commercials and no time constraints.
it's going to be tough to not have Leigh in the booth that's for sure!
Like I've said before, the six-month off-season has been one of the problems. I think the season should go until at least the middle of October. Ending in August, the other major series keep going for another two or three months. Whatever momentum you had is gone, because the casual fans move on, and then you have to win them back the next year. That's been my complaint with the schedule for years. Well, that and the shortage of ovals (but that's another subject for another time).
i am right there with you on that
So when are they hiring you?
I'm as pessimistic as the best of them for the future of this sport, but this was a phenomenal deal for IndyCar
love to hear it!
If you raced on Saturday, they could push the season into the fall. I just don't know what to do with myself between Sept and Feb.
i hate the fact the season ends so early. Definitely very strange and the fact that F1 and NASCAR will still be going on for a while will feel strange
The new streaming service starting later this year . I heard it will cost somewhere around 40.00 to 50.00 dollars a month
Doesnt sound terrible for what you get out of it!
You should become a Pitroad reporter for FOX in 2025
going to focus on being a driver first!
I know Conor wants to drive but if that won't happen, get Conor in the booth with Alan Bestwick and Hinch
that would be fun but I have a lot of racing left to do!
I really hope we get some nascar/indycar double-headers.
i doubt we'll get that lucky, but I think races that will lead into one another on TV will help
As a driver is the big break better? I feel like more time at home can only be good right? People in F1 complain that they are in season for almost half the weekends in the year, so I guess there might be a middle ground.
I certainly dont like it. We just want to feel like we have a season and not rushed through the summer. Ever since I started racing I feel like I've raced until october or so. which most other championships do. It's not ideal for me
not having the olympics to deal with plus one guaranteed channel where fans will know to look for the race will guaranteed boost viewership numbers in 2025....the schedule is more compact and easy to remember the season is still going with it being on fox every race (instead of having to be scrolling thru the guide and randomly see the race is on usa instead some random week and remember there even was a race). the people mad they are losing their precious peacock probably arent the fans indycar needs to begin with....especially when you have teams that are reconsidering their racing budgets among the many different series that are growing viewership and the product on the track. teams need a good reason to sell sponsorship that is getting tougher and tougher to sell amongst the so many ways for companies to advertise these days
this is all true!
Will you be apart of FOX broadcast????
not that I know of. I'd like to still be a race car driver
Fine with me but only if they don't relegate race day to FS1 or 2.
They won’t, when they show every race is on fox. That isn’t like a “hopefully” that is what is happening haha
"oh no! All the races will be free to watch on network tv!"
How is that a complait?
it's wild. i know lol
Conor Daly, Pit Reporter? I can dig that…
Maybe someday. But not yet!
We can say this is good without pretending NASCAR on FOX isn’t absolute garbage. Absolutely MISERABLE production and direction.
I guess I dont know what people are talking about there. I watch a lot of Fox Nascar coverage and I watch a lot of racing so I dont know why people are so upset with it
@@ConorDaly22my biggest issues with NASCAR on Fox are:
1. They zoom way too far in. Dale Jr talks about this quite a bit. They just aren’t showing enough cars in frame. To the point of sometimes it being legitimately disorienting where the cars are on track. They especially love to do this during close battles where we really want to see nice wide shots to see what lines the drivers are taking.
2. They somehow just miss a crazy amount of action. Wrecks, passes, etc. They have an uncanny habit of just not catching big moments.
3. This is my tin foil hat, but I swear to god they cut to commercial when there is a battle for the lead that lasts more than 2 laps. It’s like the producer is like “hey, everyone’s attention is on the screen, let’s get the best bang for our buck with ad dollars”. Like I said, that’s just my tin foil hat, but Jesus it happens all the time.
But all of these things will be fixed with INDYCAR because of IMS productions. So I legitimately think this is a great day for the series. I just can’t give their NASCAR coverage a pass lol. Also, side note. As an Air Force member I’ve been rocking your Thunderbirds scheme on iRacing for years. My favorite scheme in INDYCAR history and it’s not close!
keep Hinch in the booth Bring back Jon Beekhuis
that would be great!
👽👽👽👽👻👽👽👽👽
It’s purely about the money Conor- and no one one will admit it. This sellout to a major conglomerate looks so bad. Plus Network TV is a dying platform. Throwing more money at something is not analogous with a better (viewer) experience. The NBA Lakers coaching opportunity turned down by Uconn Coach Dan Hurley is a great example of what Indycar should have done... ‘pass’. Why? It was more money…?! Because money should not always be the primary consideration. One thing is already clear: FOX is now controlling INDYCAR by capping the INDYCAR season in August of ‘25, so as not to interfere with with their golden goose (NFL football) …(and they’re not even airing Indycar races yet…?!) It’s going to ruin what was doing so well on PEACOCK with so many other terrific motor sport options there as well. No one has patience anymore.
A lot of what you said though is not supported by any real data... I respect your thoughts and opinion but... what major sport ISNT Looking to get all of their events on network TV? We get 50% more network tv time than our current deal... How is that a negative? Indycar does not have enough power to go up against the NFL in any way shape or form. there is barely 100K people watching each race on peacock. That is not enough to sustain any sport or show or anything. So I'm just trying to let you know the facts. it's not going to make everyone happy.
@@ConorDaly22 You're one of my favorites Conor, and I wish you were racing the whole series. You have a lot more at stake here than any of us keyboard commenters, but I still think this is a bad deal for the long term. One network (FOX SPORTS) gives too much power/control of IndyCar. While I'm not providing specific hard viewership data- we all know what FOX did with NASCAR... and it was not good. I'm leaning into a common sense, away from the 'obvious greedy grab' approach... perfectly happy watching a Series as competitive as INDYCAR -and having to stream it/do a little work to find it. It's like having a great meal at a cool restaurant vs. fast food /drive thru; not everyone knows or can walk right in/it's not so accessible to everyone, yet it's more special when you've had that experience.
Trying to force Indycar into being something it will never be (...as Big a draw as Motorsport (F1) is in Europe...) is a doomed mission. The NFL, NBA or NL/AL Baseball will unfortunately always be larger than Auto Racing in America. Europe loves motorsport more than the USA an undeniable fact (...data you can fact check/take to the bank). Indycar is not in trouble yet they're trying to solve a problem they don't really have. You are one of the personalities that makes Indycar (the Indy 500) so great. We need more guys like you. There has been other drama lately in the Series and that has probably helped add some viewers. But Force-feeding/marketing & advertising via the bigger FOX SPORTS network won't add/keep # of eyeballs. The racing & personalities do that. You know this is true. It could have stayed at PEACOCK/NBC and grown some, but the stick & ball Sports will always take precedent. Regardless, they took the cash... they always cave to the Cash. Hope to see you in a full time ride again soon.
NBC used IndyCar to push Peakcock. Fox will hopefully push Indy Car. With FS1 & 2 it can’t be any worse than NBC. Now bring back Paul Paige.
CD Indy car drive now turned financial advisor 😂 just messing with you CD nothing but love for ya man.
all about some allocating of funds. learned that in motorsport lol
CD man gotta say, loved seeing you at Indy up front. Sure made my 1st Indy 500 experience that much more enjoyable. I’ll be back there next year. Hope to get a picture with you next year.
$6 a month for peacock is the best money I spend each month. If I can't watch practice, qualifying and warmup on a FOX stream like I did with Peacock, then it's a fail for me. And by the way, If FOX was smart they would put you and Hinch together for the broadcasts! (I'm dead serious)
I'm curious, what other streaming services do you pay for currently?
@@ConorDaly22 I cut the cable 2 years ago so I have UA-cam TV, Paramount+
, Peacock and Netflix. I pay for Peacock year round but really only use it for IndyCar and an occasional movie.
See ya Leigh Diffey….finally, no more screeching into the microphone on summer Sunday afternoons
this I disagree with. Leigh is a huge asset to our sport
Love Leigh sad to see him going to nascar.
Great video!
Is Fox gonna pull their bullshit? We’re half of the races are on FS one will that happen with the Indy cars?
all the races are gonna be on your local Fox channel .... but the practice , qualifying , and indy nxt races are gonna be on fs1 and fs2
please watch the video lol I explain where the races will be. All on network Fox. every single one.
Yeah, no more Doofy Diffey / will powwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Pretty sure USA network have an app where u can stream ? I thought they did. Either way its good for INDY, cant wait for 2025.
I hope that it gives us room to grow the schedule to 20 races by making use if some of those early season gaps, and ideally, starting the season earlier. Ideally we would start racing 2 weeks after the Daytona 24 hours, and ideally at Homestead, Phoenix, or Las Vegas MotorSpeedway
I think the extra money and extra network coverage far outweighs the concern of some of the “foxiness” of the broadcasts.
Not clear that the races will be on local, over-the-air, Fox TV network affiliates.
Will I be able to watch all the races on local Fox station with my TV antenna?
Not clear.
that is what Fox network TV races are lol if you have an antenna you can watch.
@@ConorDaly22 Just wanted it to be clear. I rarely watch tin top events so wasn’t sure if their on network local or not. Thanks for the clarity. That is great news indeed!
