This is the best video that I have seen for working on this washer. This is the second time that I have had to replace the lid switch and this video was the most helpful of any video that I have seen because he talks while he works and stays on track with the work. It made it much easier to follow him while running back and forth to the laundry room to do the work. His tip to drain the standing water out of the washer by temporarily plugging in the new switch was tremendous. I'm a subscriber now. Why pay a repairman $200 to come to your house for 30 minutes of work when you have access to this quality of instruction?
Very helpful. Thank you for sharing this UA-cam, and your skills! I almost changed the clutch/transmission ($$$$) or the timer ($$$) but was not certain they were the problem. I did a little further search and found your UA-cam. So glad I did. Changing the lid switch ($) was say following your directions. Thank you again. Bonus: I am golden in the eyes of my wife! woot woot woot!
This video was very helpful. After purchasing the lid switch from Amazon I was able to apply the part in less than 15 minutes by following this video step by step.
This video saved my wallet. I had my garbage disposal and washing machine die out on me last week. I hired a repair man for the garbage disposal and it cost me $700 dollars. I felt like I was ripped off and decided to fix the washing machine myself, followed your video and got it done for $10. Thanks homie. Liked and subscribed.
Let me add another thanks here. I am HORRIBLE at fixing things but my daughter is the engineer. Between the two of us, we replaced the switch and put it back together. The toughest part was putting the housing back over the tub but once we got it all lined up, everything snapped back into place. Thanks again!
Excellent stuff. Second time this switch has needed to be replaced. First time we paid $400 to have a repair guy come do it. It happened again 5 years later and thought I'd search for it. Your video popped up and I remembered "that was the same as last time"! $11 on Amazon, and part arrives 2 days later and am good to go saving probably $500+ this time.
You can bypass the switch. It's what I've done on other washers. As long as you don't have small children around who might stick their hand in there, it's not a big deal. We have been using one like this for many years.
I could use your help. I have a Kenmore Model 110.24922200 90 Series washer. After completing one load of wash I started a second. The tub filled with water, agitated then stopped. No matter what setting I put it in nothing happens other then the water will fill. No humming, nothing. I did check the lid switch, it is good, I even jumped it to make sure. I also replaced the timer. I tried tracing the wires but got lost.

Glad it helps makes a huge difference to do it that way and no risk of smelly water all over the floor

A really excellent video. Thank you
Thank you for this
Seriously people.. just get a couple of strong rubber bands and wrap them around the lid switch. Done.
In that case use zíper ties. That works better than rubber bands. I’ve used them in the past
You the man
Thanks
Thanks!
Thanks for the super thanks.
Glad the videos help.

Most likely a bad motor if you by passed the lid switch and replaced the timer
Does anyone know how to find the part #? All I get is 110 and not 111 and Idk if its just the same?
Do you need the lid switch if so the part number is
3949238.
If you hold the switch down it should work correct?
What us the part number or name of that part. I think my machine has this problem
What’s the green cable you used to drain the water out?
It’s a jumper cable.
Is this the same fix for the washer even if it’s spinning but not draining because mine just spins but is not draining
Most likely a bad water pump
Many thanks buddy
Glad you like the video. And hope it saved you some money
