Before it was added as an official game mode, I actually managed to kill Saxton on a community server as engineer. I was the last person alive and baited him on my teleporter to telefrag him.

I almost managed it as well once, just with engineer melee. He couldn't manage to get in any hits on me, and his health was in the hundreds, so in the end he resorted to taunting me. I was the final player.
That's pretty impressive. I've never managed to get a telefrag on Saxton, whether in official or community servers. I guess that'll be my next goal.
although your killing method was impressive, community VSH always have a nest of engies relying on sentry knockback camping on some weird ledge

It’s crazy how playstyle shifts so drastically from regular gamemodes in VSH, the meta is almost entirely different because of auto melee crits and climbing, making a lot of classes very different to play

Rescue ranger is so steong in this gamemode, you can waste a saxton charge, a heavy punch, or a grond pound by getting it away last second.
Wrangler was really strong as well, so strong in fact that they nerfed it just today. Saxton Hale can now pierce through the shield damage resistance.

I think it was less than that, but yeah it was certainly strong. Used it a few times before the nerf and it would straight up make Saxtons give up at trying to take down the sentry. And if they got close to taking it down, I'd just teleport it away, which is even more infuriating. Of course, the smart ones know to go straight for me instead of trying to punch the shielded sentry.
@@theunchosendude5446 The one youtuber (travingel) did some testing and yeah it was 9 punches. 25 damage per hit on the wrangled sentry.

It's a VSH exclusive mechanic for every class. You can climb walls as a mercenary in VSH mode by hitting it with your melee.

True, but that just means you'll need to either try and challenge them on the C1 Loop/harder section of the highway or tune for top speed. Either way, with how easy racing game opponents are in most games, it's refreshing to have opponents that pull no punches.

The power of replays! Replays are a system that has been completely abandoned by Valve, but using a bit of file editing, you can get them to (mostly) work again. First, you need a demo. I've been using something called Prec to record my demos. You can search it up online. Essentially it lets me save a game demo of any match that I find interesting at the click of a button. I can then replay what's essentially a reconstruction of the entire game. From there, I use a process that I found in this video (ua-cam.com/video/7TuOoqS7KP0/v-deo.htmlsi=TYzkkGEQSO4_RLJe) in order to convert the game demo into a replay. I then use the replay to get all the camera angles I want.

This UA-cam video is the guide I used. As a summary, I have it set up so that demo files are recorded of every game I play. If I have a game that I particularly like, I convert that demo into a replay using the method in the video.
As for how I record demos, I used something called Prec. You can search it up online, and there should be guides on how to use that as well.

I didn't know it either. I was really surprised when I found the video. Granted, due to the fact that it's just a conversion, there's a lotta buttons that simply don't work. Still, it's a replay, and that allows you to do a lot of things.
