Huge fan of the commander. Wondering if there is even space for things like Commune with the Gods or similar cards that let you dig a little for the Food Chain, if not something like a Sylvan Library to dig deeper, considering they hit both creatures and enchantments off the top 5. I don't know cedh a whole lot, apologies if those are a bit slow, great list overall.
Definitely think digging could be useful, I'm gonna keep working on the list over the coming months/weeks to see if I can find the balance. Hard to say before we can actually get the cards in our hands though!
And the combo is far away from a 2 card combo. We need an outlet to win aswell. Ballista being the best and most obvious. One of the huge strengths in green is Collector Ouphie, which isnt synenergizing with ballista very well. If we have FC in play atleast we can exile Ouphie before going for the win. Edit: 3+ card combo. Since you need to drop a bunch of stuff to start the decreased mana cost clause.
While I love this card with food chain I think it’s a very bald statement to say that it’s gonna dethrone Selvala. You’ll basically run a list with food chain + this and a bunch of junk. Since green cannot tutor for food chain you need to naturally draw into it. I do like it as a beater. But cEDH as fast as it currently is hitting each opponent with this three/four times is optimistic. I don’t want to be a party pooper on the topic, but with the current cards available to mono green in cEDH I believe this won’t go very far. It might be able to steal a game or two, but barely competetive :>
So I dont think it's fair to call alot of the cards junk-ish, as there's probs 70 cards that are similar to Selvala lists, with the exception of some of the worst creatures outside of Selvala's abilities. I've definitely cooled off a bit since putting this video out, as the new Storm Ooze in this exact deck list will do the job of this commander except way better. I'm convinced it can be a super strong commander though, as it's effects are all super relevant even at a competitive table.
Green certainly have 100+ non-junk cards to play in cEDH. The reason I call them junk in a list of Thrasta is simply due to the reason how un-synergetic the ”98” will be with the commander + food chain. Green literallt have 0 tutors for FC, meaning you have to naturally draw into it. There is no consitency in that strategy. If you are drawing 30+ cards in a mono green deck, you are winning anyways. Again, I don’t want to be a party pooper. I just want to share my view on it, which I believe is realistic. I’d love for you to prove me wrong though 😊
And to clearify: every card that could tutor for FC would increase the power level of the deck exponentially, so the future will tell if this strategy will be legit. My argument is that it currently isn’t.
This literally replaces selvalla explorer returned in selvalla twiddlestorm, turn it into mono green and remove the like... 7 white cards in that deck? Which is exactly what I will do, throw in food chain and chatterstorm and its GG baby

haha I love it. I think the new ooze aeve? i think it's name is, is also dope for this kind of deck. maybe even better than thrasta!
