Craft Your Own Monitor Stand with Drawers Using Scrap Wood

DIY Monitor Stand with drawer organization! Whether you are working from home or just trying to improve your home office setup, a monitor stand can raise your monitor up to the proper viewing height. When you sit a a desk for a prolong period of time it is important to understand how that can impact your body. From chair height to keyboard height to monitor height, all of these matter.
According to multiple websites on proper Office ergonomics, your eyes should be looking at a point on the screen that is about 2-3" from the top of the monitor. Your desk, chair, and monitor height need to be factored in when building a monitor stand.
There are quite a few monitor riser stands and mounting arms for monitors available today. It seemed to me, that none of the risers were tall enough for proper viewing, instead these were mostly focused on adding some extra storage space. As for the mounting arms, there are many computer monitors that do not have mounting capability. Instead, monitors can come with stands that allow you to tilt, swivel, and/or position the monitor higher or lower.
By building your own monitor stand, you can customize it the height that works for you and your body. Plus, you have full control on its appearance, from hardware to color to shape and size!
If you noticed that your scrap pieces of wood are piling up, this is a great project to use them up.
If you don'd do many wood projects, then the good news is that this project requires little material!
