  • I needed a monitor riser, so I made this wooden Monitor Stand.
    I made it from spruce.
I decided I will not use any screws, nails, or hardware.
Ordinary drawer slides are too robust, so I used 10x10mm spruce slats.
I cut them to length with my Douzuki handsaw.
The only thing on this monitor stand that is not natural and is imported is a USB charger.
I had to drill a 50mm hole for this charger so I used my CNC. I took advantage and I routed two more slots, one for a pencil and one for a smarphone.
Dimensions of this monitor stand are 500x250x120mm.
Below are the dimensions of profiles and boards I needed:
    (all spruce)
    Glued board 1000x300 cut to:
    500x250mm 1x top board
    100x248mm 2x legs
    456x47mm 1x front
40x10mm slat for sided of the drawer
    229mm 2x
    418mm 2x
40x20mm slat for board support at the back
    460mm 1x
10x10 mm slat for drawee slides
    229 4x
To precisely cut these I used my Douzuki Handsaw
I finished it with Rustins- Danish oil so it fills silky smooth.
Thanks for watching folks and yes, start woodworking :)

Just watched this. Almost exactly what I wanted to make, so thanks. Found two old pieces of 'scrap' wood that someone gave me. After sanding turned out to be solid oak!. That will make a nice finish. Any recommendations for surface finishing of this wood, so I don't obscure the lovely grain and colour?
Dont like clear laquer. Would prefer some form of oil/wax

Thank you. Good, oak is the king of wood. I am still using Danish Oil by Rustins for the majority of my small interior projects. It is almost transparent, not oily, antistatic (no dust),... I apply it twice or three times.

Really nice. As a side note, thanks for not adding annoying music.

Thank you! I showed this to my carpenter and he made me one just like this but without the holes.

Feels like this video is so unfairly underrated. Your work is neat and accurate, there are all dimensions listed below, and the way you made it without any nails or screws looks pretty impressive (not to mention all these clamps you used, I mean yes you had to, but it still looks like a lot :))
