Lego Christmas Truce of 1914 - WW1 stop motion
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 гру 2021
- At the end of 1914, and particularly on the days surrounding Christmas, numerous truces were arranged in many areas along the Western Front, between the British, French, and Germans.
These truces, in many cases, were just simple agreements allowing the other side to retrieve their dead from No Man's Land, however, in some cases, soldiers from both sides put down their weapons, climbed out of their trenches, and met each other in the middle of No Man's Land.
These men, who had previously fought one another, socialized, exchanged gifts, and by some accounts even played football together.
Although similar truces would occur throughout the remainder of World War One, an event this widespread was entirely unique to the latter months of 1914, and reflected the respect the opposing sides still had for each other at this point in the war. - Розваги

Never thought Legos could bring a tear to my eyes love it
Have you trodden on one that brings tears
you clearly never stepped on a lego
It can bring multiple tears if they fall far enough
You could bring a tear if you stepped on it

Hear carols from the trenches, we sing O Holy Night,

Our Christmas in the trenches, our Christmas on the front,
Far from home!!!

As they put down their weapons they played some soccer they said let's play and some talked about violence have a bloddy good Xmas they said have a good war and don't give us blindness so all you have to do is talk about kindness
once that day was done everyone went home
the end of the war
everyone was satisfied
but little did they know
another war will arise
but as they sit in their houses and left their trenches
they will soon come again and meet new Germans

A Christmas on the front far from home
Well this may be how it played out in some places along the front, but the story that I love most was when an English soldier stood up and began singing Silent Night loudly enough for both sides to hear, after which a German stood and sang a German Christmas hymn, and then the two sides slowly emerged to salute and play together.
I was playing Foxhole last year and we recreated the Christmas truce. We we're fighting for control of this bridge so we were dug in on both sides. It started with me an 2 others yelling at the Enemy guys to ceasefire and then yelling that we brought gifts. It didn't take long before some guys approached us in a truck asking what we had. It was still a little tense but we ended up talking about life, gameplay and exchanging weapons and vehicles. Other folks started showing up and we took pictures and showed off exclusive faction weapons and gear and traded amongst ourselves.
a fellow foxhole fan :) thats awesome man. i love the social nature of the game. how it lets you connect with other people. didnt expect to see foxhole here but it warms my heart. hope you have a good one thanks for sharing
This was really good! Well done for the whole thing and a merry Christmas to you!
Belated merry christmas to you as well!

The Christmas truce (German: Weihnachtsfrieden; French: Trêve de Noël; Dutch: Kerstbestand) was a series of widespread unofficial ceasefires along the Western Front of the First World War around Christmas 1914.
The truce occurred five months after hostilities had begun. Lulls occurred in the fighting as armies ran out of men and munitions and commanders reconsidered their strategies following the stalemate of the Race to the Sea and the indecisive result of the First Battle of Ypres. In the week leading up to 25 December, French, German and British soldiers crossed trenches to exchange seasonal greetings and talk. In some areas, men from both sides ventured into no man's land on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to mingle and exchange food and souvenirs. There were joint burial ceremonies and prisoner swaps, while several meetings ended in carol-singing. Men played games of football with one another, creating one of the most memorable images of the truce.[1] Hostilities continued in some sectors, while in others the sides settled on little more than arrangements to recover bodies.
The following year, a few units arranged ceasefires but the truces were not nearly as widespread as in 1914; this was, in part, due to strongly worded orders from commanders, prohibiting truces. Soldiers were no longer amenable to truce by 1916. The war had become increasingly bitter after the human losses suffered during the battles of 1915.
The truces were not unique to the Christmas period and reflected a mood of "live and let live", where infantry close together would stop overtly aggressive behaviour and often engage in small-scale fraternisation, engaging in conversation or bartering for cigarettes. In some sectors, there were occasional ceasefires to allow soldiers to go between the lines and recover wounded or dead comrades; in others, there was a tacit agreement not to shoot while men rested, exercised or worked in view of the enemy. The Christmas truces were particularly significant due to the number of men involved and the level of their participation-even in quiet sectors, dozens of men openly congregating in daylight was remarkable-and are often seen as a symbolic moment of peace and humanity amidst one of the most violent conflicts of human history.
I like how JD Brick Productions portrays different wars throughout history. Your animations successfully show how brutal wars have been, both visual and audio effects help to make the watching experience more realistic.
Also you provide real backstory of the real events and thus teaching viewers the history.
Hey look! Its Raimo!
i also like how he can make his videos better than some high budget movies
just look at the trailer for his new vid, look at the battle of El Alamein vid, battle of verdun, the christmas truce, battle of the bulge, battle of the somme, and literally all of his videos except for his first videos. in my opinion they are all very well done
A wise person once said
"Today We are friends, Tomorrow we are enemies."
I'm pretty sure they all deep down knew that. But they didn't care at the time, all they wanted was some peace and joy for one time before they returned to the murder and fighting... may they all rest peacefully...
In some accounts, the man who approached the enemy line to offer their region's Christmas Truce was waving a tiny Christmas Tree to convey his intentions across the language barrier.
Truly an inspirational moment and a true Christmas miracle.
The Christmas Truce really was a beautiful thing, sadly, it didn't last long.
Great animation and great job! Lets all remember, that Christmas is a time on sharing and caring.
Merry Christmas JD Brick Productions and to all who watch him, the perfect youtuber!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

I had no idea how beautiful and emotional a Lego film could be... Well done, JD, and Merry Christmas.
So happy to see there is a peace in Christmas.
So sad because it is over too soon and this is only happen once in world war (WW1 and WW2).
Happened twice in ww1...
I remember hearing about a truce between the Germans and French in 1915 a very interesting story...
But I never heard of a Christmas truce in ww2...
@@lalangner2253 Ok that's a new information for me. and yeah in WW2 we never heard about it.
The Germans attacked the US during Christmas, or in the chrsitmonth, that was the iconic Battle of the Bulge, I think it happened on christmas, or a few days before.
Dope job, well done
Good to see a xmas truce stop motion with a more realistic amount of snow
I have no emotions for the film Titanic but this brings a tear.
Amazing work on recreating one of the most wholesome events during war, this was truly an event to remember through history, merry christmas soldiers
That was AWESOME! love how you select a beautiful story about the ww1! You also have been able to animate it perfectly!
One of the most peaceful and amazing things that happened in history. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas to anyone reading this!
Wow, simplemente hermoso, los soldados pelean porque aman lo que está detrás de ellos, no porque odien a los que están enfrente de ellos pero si todos se unieran y se respetarán como hermanos todo sería mejor
Y por cierto, gran animación!
This made me cry thinking of how people, even though are in war, they still give the best present of all, friendship
A truly Christmas gift for me! Merry Christmas JD!
It's just pleasing to see how there's still humanity in such a cruel war
Beautiful, just absolutely beautiful. You have captured one of the most beautiful moments in history. Well done, merry Christmas.
One of the best events in the history of the war. Thank you for creating this. To JD and everyone Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
A beautiful moment in history, Merry Christmas.
Inspiring. When human beings decide to be human to each other, especially on a battlefield, the end result can be no less than miraculous.
Love how you capture these historical moments with such an impressive medium.
Thank you so much for making this. This is a moment in history that really demonstrates how the Light of Christmas always shines through, Even through the darkness of war. Merry Christmas to you and everyone who reads this comment!
Nice work man! The music really added to the atmosphere! Well done
The best LEGO stop motion of the year!
Silence,

One of the most beautiful moments in history!
Just stunning this is so so good and greatly animated
A gesture of kindness and good will amidst war that has never been seen before or since. The only moment in history that truly makes me believe that mankind can be good.
It's amazing how people can be at war one moment and at peace the next. This was one of the saddest stop motions i've ever seen. It's epic.
Short but sweet, amazing story and video. Happy holidays everyone.
Très sympa, et bonne idée de vidéo en cette période 😊
Joyeux Noël
I swear your animations are amazing, but not only that it’s always about something real that happen. Not everyone is heartless and cruel in wars there can be good in which is surprising. Thanks to these moments hope can be revived in the hearts of soldiers.
Even in Lego form, the Christmas Truce of 1914 is still beautiful :)
I absolutely love this. It shows the respect people had for each other back then. Some how this has slowly left our world. It seemed like everyone has so much hatred for one another.
This looks so life like, this is really amazing!! 🤩
This is one of the nicest/wholesome moments of humanity.
Its so good, it really shows which meaning this truth had for the soldiers.
Appriciate your work!
Short and made of Legos, but still gave me chills. Moments like this remind me of the good that can still be found in the human race, no matter how ugly and terrible we can be to each other.
“Tommorow, you no shoot… we no shoot.”
Wow! That is amazing. Great job! HAPPY HOLIDAYS 🎄!
Merry Christmas And This Is So Realistic And Really Looks Like The Own Legos Are Moving
Cinematic editing lighting soundtrack and execution, bravo my friend…superb.🎄🎄
What would have really sold it was some making snowmen, some sharing gifts, and a few playing football(i.e. soccer). Even still, great little video!!!
WOW,the moment should have been so epic.
Another amazing video! It makes you feel the adrenaline dump in real life those men felt when seeing a enemy approach and the discipline of the war. :)
Probably my favorite moment in history. Great animation as always! :)
This is so cool, and very well done! Keep up the great work and have a Merry Christmas!
Thanks for uploading it makes my day
