Not from Chicago, but I do agree that ketchup and hot dogs should not mix. However, in the case of these hot dogs of which I’ve had a few, with the mayo and mustard the ketchup definitely works. Some vendors put sour cream in place if the mayo and that is delicious as well.
I love it, Greg. Those were the best hotdogs I've seen. The comment "How ya doin chicago" was absolutely fantastic. This was a fantastic video, brother. 👍👍
The very first time I ever ate a bacon wrapped hotdog was off a street vendor when I was fresh out of boot camp for the US Navy in Tijuana January, 1987. I think I ate 6 of them that was how delicious they were 😋
Rochester, New York has some unique hot dogs. First the dog itself Red Hots & White Hots by Zweigles. Rochester Char-pits serve them with a delicious hot sauce, that is not hot but a sauce for hot dogs. My favorite is Bill Gray's but there are several Char-pits in the area. Then there is the Garbage Plate originally made ar Nick Tahou's consisting of hot dog or hamburger meat, hot meat sauce, and other condiments, piled atop a variety of side dishes, typically including macaroni salad and home fries. It is usually served with a side of buttered bread. A bunch of ideas 💡 for the channel. Great 👍 and keep making them.
Believe me, it is very frustrating. I can remember helping out Guga with questions he had emailed me. UA-cam isn't a fan of Ballistic BBQ I guess. Sometimes I feel like hanging it up.
@BallisticBBQ The thing about his channel is the production. Not the average person can afford that stuff. Your channel has provided many years of delisous burgers to myself and my family. Simple useful and you are a great guy. I really hope you get more attention because you deserve it.

I love how you recreate other restaurants, other types of ways to make food in order to show people how to make very flavorful different types of meals to make. That's what it's all about right? Love your channel and thank you , from one creator to another, for what you do 🙂
This is very interesting and looks delicious. My Dad, in the 1960s when I was a kid, would grill a bacon dog for us. The hotdog was partially split and finely chopped onions were packed into the split. It was then wrapped in bacon and grilled. On the bun, just mustard was added. I still make these about twice a year and it is a great childhood memory.
Great dog! I really enjoy the history you provide about each food. Your videos are so well produced as is your cooking technique. These street dogs look delicious!

Hey Greg! Nice cook bro! I live up north in CA and frequent Giants games. Before and after the game there are at least 25-30 of these hotdog carts lining the streets of the main exits from Oracle park. Each cart has a business license and a health department certificate displayed on the front of them. Still have never ate off one of the carts because they sell the exact same thing inside the park but maybe I will the next game I go to! Lol I’ll take a bullet, they always smell incredible!!
Are you going to Aftershock this year? I'll have to look for those dogs. What sucks about the Sacramento area, is there are zero hot dog carts. Growing up in San Jose they were everywhere! Nothing like a hot link from a cart. Another great video.
TJ's hot dogs are renowned for their diverse toppings, with staples like cheese Ruffles, pickled jalapenos, nacho cheese, and chipotle mayo. However, each cart adds its own unique flair, often featuring secret sauces and additional toppings like pickled Serrano peppers (hotter than jalapenos), bacon-wrapped yellow peppers, or grilled jalapenos called Chiles Toreados - seasoned with Maggie sauce and or soy sauce, lime, and salt for an umami kick.
Lots of places around So Cal are popping up and both allowed and inspected by cities. Especially at night time. Fantastic and unique condiments at realistic price. Dog like this would be 4. 50 in my area
