you should remember to clean the phone lenses before doing tests too, it's clearly that vivo's back camera had fingerprints on it from the white smudge in most pics/videos, I have the phone and it never looks like that, vivo was done dirty in this video

ofcourse this is all based on your Subjective Opinion but if we look at Blind (Hence most Objective) smartphone Camera Test that MKBHD Did, Vivo and Google Won top 2 while iphone couldn't even beat Samsung.

Do you really think that test is more objective? Wtf? It was only based on 3 pictures. And If you didn't know, he rewarded the iphone as the best camera of the year, cuz when taking all in consideration (video, macro, portrait, raw, pro res, etc) it's more consistent, reliable and pleasing than any other phone

It's quite close, but I personally don't like the blur and the noise - and appreciate Vivo smoothing out the image. 3x goes to Samsung, and 5x goes to Vivo. It could have also been a tie. Good catch!
I'm really impressed by the zoom of the Vivo X90 Pro Plus. How can it beat S22 ultra which has 10x optical zoom???
cause Vivo has 64mp omni sensor and samsung has 10mp small, dark x10 tele same as his 3x tele.
because samsung has been quantity over quality lately and haven't upgraded his zoom sensors since s21 and s23 ultra will have the same ones, they will just bump fake mp on the main sensor. Samsung's sensors are too small for 2023.
Because the Vivo Sensor is 4 Times larger resulting in 16MP 7times lessless zoom vs 10 Times Optical at now cropped and same sensor size. At daylight, the Vivo can take it's resolution advantage, and otherwise you Can do a 3.5 Times photo and already get as many details as Samsung would get at 10 times. Meaning all 3.5 to 9.9 times zoomshots are always going to be better on Vivo, and 10 times is about draw.

Ever notice that each channel gives different results? It all comes down to which phone appeals to us, because all of these phones are good! For 2023, I choose the S23 Ultra with its new 200mp sensor, and improved front facing camera! To each his own! Cheers! 💖

This is your worst and most bias video ever. The apple wasn't better in a lot of categories. Super unnecessary brightness, yet Google was docked for dark and Samsung for contrast.. Terrible video

We're guessing the main issue is that it doesn't look that dark on a mobile phone. We have the luxury of looking at the pictures on a 4K monitor. MKBHD also said that the iPhone 14 Pro is his overall camera phone winner of 2022, so we don't think that it's absurd that iPhone overall performs better over 12 categories. I should let you know that I also have a Pixel 7 Pro as my personal phone, so there definitely is no bias. I really like the quality of the camera, except for when some photos come out too dark so I have to play around with it. 😩

I am an owner of a rooted S22 Ultra 12Gb/512Gb Exynos version, with latest oneUi 5.0 firmware and i can say that it is amazing performer across all lens, ultra clear videos and photos, outstanding zoom noise free, amazing night and low light fotos without yellowish or greenish tints ! No lags, no thermal problems, great battery ! I do not know why it is so underrated ! My previous device was Xiaomi Mi10 Ultra so i was already on a very capable and amazing shooter !

It depends in different scenes. In some videos, we had Samsung perform better than Apple, but the iPhone is usually more consistent than the other devices in portrait photography.

Vivo X90 Pro is amazing!
Sorry but you gave points to some pictures taken where your face looked pale, yellow or the colors where completely off. You didnt crop to show and compare the details and you didnt mention if you used default or Zeiss natural color option on the Vivo.
We don't turn on external settings that alter the photos in some way when making these comparisons. You'd also have to give specific examples, as the colors are usually not completely off with these expensive phones.

What a super comparison of some really super phones! The zoom prowess on that vevo x90 Pro Plus is insane! That feature has always gravitated me to the Samsung phones since I can't have a Huawei phone.

Thanks for your kind words! We're guessing that Vivo is mostly used in China, and then Europe. Apple has a huge monopoly over in the US, so probably not too many users. We were also very impressed by the zoom feature!

Very good camera comparison! I'm wondering can there be a camera comparison that includes trying to capture a photo of objects that are in motion like a dog or kid moving? I'm just curious are any of these phones able to capture something in motion with little to no blur?
That's really hard to do, especially as we can't take the same photo in that situation. The speed of the object moving would also change if it was a dog or a cat. We could figure out a way to do this in the future, but not for now.

Generally speaking it seems like all these phones and even lower cost ones can take at least decent if not good photos in most situations where your subject isn't moving much, but how many phones are there that can take decent if not good photos of something or someone in motion and where you may only have a few seconds to catch the moment?
Also another thing I was curious about, when it comes to the super zooms on these phones where you're zooming 20, 30 or even 100x, do all these cameras have good stabilization when you're zooming so close to something far away? I know Samsung Ultras has some sort of super stabilization where if you're zooming to like 100x you can tap on the screen and it will make things even more steady so that you can maybe take a more in focus photo, but do the other phones also have something similar to this?
@@Versusdotcom How about taking photo of ROTATING FAN and maybe put picture or small object on it? That way you can have repeatable scene to take picture of in same conditions? Other suggestion is maybe BLENDER while blending some fruit? Maybe DROPPING BALL always from same height and then taking picture always right before landing? 🤷♂😅
i have Vivo X90 pro+, S22 Ultra and iPhone 14 pro. For photography 14 pro and S22 ultra is not on par with X90 pro+ on detail, especially at low light

ha ha. This comparison is a joke. Look at the AD board at 13.59 , iphone is the only phone blown out the board. He convinently skipped commenting on any photos and rewarded 3 points to iphone.
Nice comparison, thanks for that. I tried some different video modes on the galaxy s22 . Changing to HDR10+ in pro-video mode allows for much better video quality at night. You can try this out if you want. Better sharpness and noise reduction.

Without HDR, for better results, just shoot in 30 or 24 fps at night. You'll get better results than with 60fps, as it has more noise in low light.
Good video but it would be better if you highlight or zoom in on the problematic parts of the photo. I am watching this video on a laptop but when you saying that some Samsung pictures have blurry part, I couldn't see it. If you would zoom in those parts of the pictures, we would be also see what you see. For the things like blown out parts of the pictures maybe you can highlight those parts adding circles or something.
The Samsung blur issue around the parts not close to the subject is a constant problem with the Exynos version of the S22 Ultra, but you're right in saying that it would be better to zoom in there. I'll let the team know!

Thanks for the great video esp night mode. If possible, I would like to see live shooting of firework by all four as nobody has done live shooting of firework before. iphone usually do well for night mode but seems outperformed by Vivo this time. Keep up your nice work!

You should have separated night video from night time photos, just like daytime videos. Other than that, there were some instances where Pixel was quite better than iphone in skin tones. Good work nonetheless 👍🏻
Thanks! We agree that the Pixel is generally better at skin tones than the iPhone - and MKBHD made a nice video about it. The only reason the iPhone wins out is because it is more consistent over many images. That's why iPhones often lose out on blind tests.

The S22 Ultra with the Exynos chipset isn't the best performer, but even then it holds up against new generation flagships. We're sure the S23 Ultra will be one of the best phones in the world.

I own a Pixel 7 Pro, and I have to admit that the iPhone is more consistent overall. The Pixel takes great pictures, but when it messes up sometimes by making the photo too dark or focusing too much on HDR and not the subject, that's where it loses points. The Pixel got 2nd place in photos and won the ultrawide category, so we don't think it's that big of a deal to be honest.

The thing is....unless n until u compare the photos side by side.....no one gonna notice the difference....it all depends on the person who is taking the photos.....these edge detection....white balance....shadow control.....r just nothing coz no one uploads pic nowadays without filters/after effects.....n once u uploaded the photos in social network site.....no one gonna bother zooming in n look at the details, shadow control e.t.c......we jus decide at an instance if a pic is good or not jus by looking at it (Again depends on the person taking the pic....not d phone ). So these comparisons really don't matter to be honest (However Kudos to d effort taken for the video comparison. From comparison point of view it's very knowledgeable). If u like a phone.....jus go buy it !!!!!
the main cam test should have included night/low light photography - the Vivo deserved a higher ranking than 2nd. Also the natural bokeh was not really addressed - something the other don't have

Conclusion from the test is that the vivo main camera is far behind the iphone which I think isn't entirely correct if you include low light photography or some more challenging photo scenarios. Are you sure? There are maybe two photos in Portrait mode that you could say that, but they still handled edge detection better. Over half of them don't even have the sky as the background, and the dynamic range is very similar between the devices in those photos.

You should do a battery test with all of them, but like to show it performs after so much time not just using the phones for 8-10 hours straight without stopping because iPhone batteries degrade slower than androids

Very important information missing! Was Zeiss natural colour on the Vivo activated or not? Because being off in white balance, contrast and saturation on the main sensor is very strange! With Zeiss natural colour activated there is no phone which makes more natural photos consistently. Vivo gets it right in 9 out of 10 times. Also if take natural bokeh in consideration the other phones have no chance against the Vivo main sensor. Another thing is with the Vivo you can adjust nearly everything to your liking which you can't do like that on the other phones. If you know how to use the Vivo it will crush the others in nearly every category. Vivo not winning in HDR situations in general is also not believable, because Vivo since the X70 Pro+ was and is the HDR king there is no doubt. iPhone winning overall against the Vivo is a joke, the iphone is not even in the same category especially if you are looking for natural looking photos which look like they have been taken with a mirrorless or DSLR and I'm sure nearly every professional photographer will agree with me!
We only use automatic settings, so we don't turn on any external features that a phone may have (unless we have to choose one like on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra).
@@Versusdotcom I mean in general I understand that you are doing it that way on all the other phones it makes sense to not use any filters or something. But Vivo and Zeiss worked so hard to get the colours damn right in nearly every situation and it's one of the main features of that phone. Nobody usually uses that phone in the default mode. So the results are not very helpful to for making a decision on how good the phone is

Don't need to hype the Zeiss natural colour mode, which is by the way not a simple filter, it's by far better and more consistent than all the other phones. That's a simple fact. I use a X90 Pro+ myself since 2 weeks and the colours are spot on in at least 9 out of 10 times. Tried it myself

im late to reply to this but man.. i use X90 pro, not the Plus but the regular pro and i didnt encounter any blur when taking photos using main lens. how can a 1" sensor be blurry or has white haze? its absurd.
