I love this technique for drawstring bags. It is the easiest, fastest, I nicest looking drawstring bag. I'm a stickler for things looking as nice on the inside as on the outside and like a finished non-visible seam and this fits the bill to a T. It's great! Thank you Vanessa!
The more I look at your projects the more I get into sewing. Love the way you explain each step and how easy and simple it is to make them. I’m so happy with all the things I have learned from you. Thank you so much and God bless your hands. ❤️❤️❤️
I love you comment about it being ok if your sea allowance isn't accurate! Love patterns where that's assumed. Thanks for all of your tutorials
Thank you for your clear and concise instructions. You speak to those who are beginning their sewing journey. I have followed you for many years and have always enjoyed your teaching method. Thank you for the work you do. It is appreciated.
Thank you Vanessa-I have fabric for my daughters wedding I was making masks....done with that so I will now make some of these cute bags. Also love your peg board decorations in the background! The Granny Squares are the best part. (crocheter at heart!) Trying sewing for a change and your videos have been so helpful.
Thanks for this tutorial! I made a bag to hold my folded, fabric Christmas ball that I had made. It was the only gift at my Cut Throat Christmas party for Bunco, that was stolen three times!
I LOVE all your tutorials. You are a born teacher. So much fun. Thank-you very much.
Thank you, Vanessa. You are inspirational. I really appreciate you sharing your expertise.
Great tutorial as always! ABSOLUTELY love your teaching style!!!! Thank you for caring and sharing your love of sewing and creating with all of us. If it weren't for you, I would not have ever taken the first stitch let alone started up my in-home sewing business! I have been blessed by your beautiful mind!!!
+Pat Armbrister Aww. You're welcome, Pat! Thanks so much for your kind words.
Gift giving an item is now adorably wrapped...thanks to you. Thank you ❤️
Vanessa, love making these bags, made mine smaller using 4 strips, and a little shorter, 18 “, I’m using them for thanksgiving, a gift bag for the table scape, everyone gets a homemade phone pillow by ‘so very easy’, and it worked out perfect, used coral bells fabric, very earthy colored fabric that match the placemats by ‘Missouri quilt co’, I love your videos, keep them coming, thanks Mercy G.
So awesome to meet you at Quilt Market! love your new set!!
I love that this is lined! Thank you!
Excellent project and so cute. Thanks Vanessa.
Such a cute drawstring bag. with great fabrics. Thanks
Love it. I have been making bags of all sizes and kinds for decades. And this one will be added to my list of bags for all occasions... Thank you.
I love Vanessa videos. They are simple and fun to make.
So neat! I am totally going to make these for small knitting/crochet project bags. Or maybe even hand-sewing projects. Thanks Vanessa!
This is such a great idea, so much better than wrapping paper! Your instructions made it easy to see how to adapt this for a larger size, a version without strips, or one with a wider ruffle on top, you could add pockets to the outside or inside, you could even use iron on vinyl to make it water proof, these are so eco friendly, I’ve been wanting to make something like this for storage and organizing, laundry, dry cleaning trips etc., thank you so much! It would be super cute to sew these with ticking fabric (or toweling fabric with ticking stripes) and appliqué or embroider something along the bottom or in the center to personalize it.
This is fantastic! Thank you for sharing your crafty wisdom! Excited to give these a try. Thanks again.
Thanks for this tutorial. Best one! I stitched a small drawstring bag using your instructions. Came out well!. Thanks again. You are very clear, persistent and precise.
Regards
Shereen

I made your bag, and several things for a dear friend of mine. She loves fall, so along with this I sent microwave bowl cozies, table runner, pot holders...She misunderstood my explanations, and used this to reheat her mac and cheese. I use all natural thread and fabric, so no fear there!

+krystalrowe96 That would be a wonderful use! :)
This is the best tutorial for drawstring bags I have found
A cord or a ribbon would also make really nice drawstrings.
are the little slots or openings or casings left raw when finished, is there a chance it will start raveling after its opened and closed over time or after washing, since that opening in the seam isn't finished?
I love it,it's beautiful
Great idea!! Will use my strips and scraps!! 😃
