Negative vibes (words) do not benefit anyone. Not all those that believe in the purest form of love (for some it is Jesus-other forms of religious institutes, Buddha so on and so forth) are crazed fundamentalists. Whoever threw the stone first, should not have thrown it in the first place. One is no better than other. Christianity is not the cause of severe depression written in dark metal lyrics. They are simply pointing out the cause for hate, depression, murder, stealing ect. Does that make them "psycho"? I must add that the hard core fundamentalists have given Christians a bad rap but the message conveyed will always be the same: hate, depression, killings, war come from a sinister force be it the "the devil" "animal instinct" ect it must be addressed so we can prevent it from doing further damage to society. Most of the time it has to do with childhood upbringing, mental disorders, and or the demands of the music industry. To blame Christianity in this case moves into the territory called sweeping generalization. ✌

Yeah, my formative years was when Ozzy Osborne, Dungeons & Dragons and even "He-Man: Master of the Universe" were deemed "of the devil". What struck me as baffling is all of the theatrical horror/Halloween trappings on the album art like skulls, alters, daggers, goat heads, etc...of albums they felt the need to play backwards. "Let's see if they're hiding satanic messages". I'd be more concerned that Anne Murray, Neil Diamond and Barry Manilow were HIDING satanic messages; the Metal acts seem pretty in-your-face about it, BWAHAHAHAHA!

@@newguyatparty3836 There's danger in skateboarding, and it's fun for me, BMX Freestyle, Moto X Freestyle, Snowboarding, Football which is also dangerous- people have fun playing it, hockey as well, etc. Just because something is dangerous and fun doesn't mean it's evil, or bad. Accidents happen in those sports but also accidents happen when just driving which can be dangerous and fun, you don't want to quit driving, riding in a motor vehicle.

Be in mind that I was listening to Girls Girls Girls by Motley Crue, so I turned to her and literally said, "oh you mean listen to the guy who sings about underage girls shaking it for him?". I will never forget watching a street preacher get doused in catsup/ketchup for protesting outside of a Slipknot concert. He said something along the lines of "Repent from this devil music or burn forever in Hell," and the whole crowd started chanting "Highway to Hell!"

Everybody interprets the Bible in a different way. Hence why there’s so many different denominations of Christianity. Also, the fact is that I know of other preachers who think that rock and metal is awesome. They listen to it themselves. So yes, I’m perfectly capable of disagreeing with one of my fellow Christians

I was actually extremely emotionally abused by one of the pastor's friend in the video; which is the reason why metal is my outlet for self-expression. The church sees emotions as sin. And throw the 5th and 6th commandment on my face, that's it!

My father is a huge Christian, and he is the one that got me into rock music in the first place. I took his love of rock and engraved it into my life forever. I’m not religious anymore, but our love of rock will never change. I love my dad will all my heart.

He was unique- a model train enthusiast, a collector of rare LPs and old horror stuff, a licensed Christian counselor and holding doctorates in psychology and theology, and a darn good singer and guitarist himself. He was down to earth, easy to talk to, and shook his head at TV "preachers" whose sole aim was money.
I play piano for my church and death metal guitar in my free time. If only the congregation knew lol.

Exactly. If you're bothered by the lyrical content, that's one thing, but you can get those same subjects in any form of music. It just depends on who is making it. Metal is not "inherently" satanic or evil just because it exists.

I myself am a Christian, and I love Highway to Hell and Hell’s Bells by AC/DC. Those songs are not Satanic. Highway is about living dangerously. Hell’s Bells is about being a rebel. Neither of them are about hell.

christianity is a death cult, its entire focus is on where you go when you die, jesus dying for sins, everything about it is worshipping death, one of my fav death metal bands songs is about the love of his child as she sleeps in his arms (Novembers doom twilight innocence, its beautiful!). But they praise their god for drowning millions of humans, animals, including babies, its pretty disgusting.

First thing that stood out for me... 'worldly'... like, I live in the world (the real one too, not a life wasted waiting around for an unknown and dubious prospect for after I die) and tbh I'm enjoying the experience for all it's flaws and cons, even being chronically ill. Last time someone called me out for listening to "Satan's Music", I was listening to Hail The Apocalypse by Avatar in a Warlmart. I said nothing but instead, I paused my music, turned my Bluetooth speaker up to full volume, and pressed "Play". I knew a Reverend down at the church in town. Great dude, used to run the meets in a rugby shirt with 'The Rev' printed on the back. One Sunday I saw him in a Black Sabbath shirt and mentioned it, 'cool shirt'. Well, he's a big fan, doesn't believe the satanic panic ideas a bit. He told me, sure it's dark but that doesn't mean a thing as long as it's real and honest, most of the past of Christianity and God's chosen was dark... if you're not willing to or fear to be your true self how will you fare when your identity or faith are truly challenged? He's since moved on, I wasn't really one of his congregation, but I miss him and his chill wisdom.

First off, most rock and metal musicians wouldn't try to "hide" a message glorifying Satan. There are plenty of bands who come right out and say it. I don't understand those bands since they aren't really helping...but the point is that metal and rock artist's have always pushed boundaries and have never been afraid to say what's on their mind!
That's really easy to do though. A few record players actually have a backwards button.
The humorous thing is that burning metal records was at one time encouraged, but A) you have to buy the record in order to burn it, so you're still patronizing the artists who made the music, and B) burning vinyl produces toxic fumes. So yeah, maybe that should be a lesson not to just try to destroy things that you don't agree with and that pose no threat to you at all.

The caustic, burnt vinyl record that you just paid retail price for, in support of the artist(s) you are hellbent on destroying, isn't removing the music away from anyone anyway, that was merely a copy, just one of potentially millions of copies sold & listened to around the world.😂😂😂

A girlfriend of mine back in University was a hardcore Christian and a singer / musician. One of her favorite bands was Metallica. Why? She said that they had actual musical talent. And her reasoning was if listening to that kind of music was enough to weaken her faith, her faith wasn't strong to begin with.

Handel's "Messiah" was written in the style of then-contemporary secular Classical/chamber music. The piano-and-organ hymns of more conservative churches are Christian worship lyrics set to bawdy tavern songs contemporary of the Colonial era.
