    Do more pause and decide which position to move into type things. It's like being tested on racecraft and I think that sort of thing is super helpful.
    Great vid as always.

    Man when I was young I always thought road bike racing was so weak and corny. But as an adult and knowing more about this kind of bike riding it is just so intense and very tough also bad ass!!!! Love these camera angles by the way! 🤘

  • @caquitows
    @caquitows 5 років тому +1

    I'd go left too on the "227m moment". The guy right in front of you (number 92) sprinted strong, that was unlucky that you couldn't get his draft.

    • @iammars142
      @iammars142 5 років тому

      The way he was talking about it, I was assuming he was going right. But maybe it was just hindsight speaking. Pretty much said it was a guaranteed good line to go right even though the guys on the left are faster.

    That up and down curb on turn 2 actually isn’t too bad you go up a driveway and then down. You don’t have to hop an actual curb. I took the line once when I got pinched.

  • @augustuskelley4170
    @augustuskelley4170 5 років тому

    for me, coming out of that last turn, the head of the peloton shifts wide to the left, and you were looking at a wide open center line down the middle of the street. Those are the opportunities that I always looked for. And yeah, that seems like a long sprint, so I understand why you decided to tuck in for a moment before launching, but I can't help but think that if you had stayed inside coming out of that turn, you would have overtaken Bloody Butt Cheek and been right on yellow frame guy's wheel when he slipped out to the right, which easily could have meant 4 or 5 places better than you finished.

    10:59 Your comment perfectly fits what the orange in front of you does. I saw a horrific crash at an UCI race this year because of such behavior. Which brings me to my question. Is there any rule to avoid that riders move laterally in the group?

    • @albr4

      in a sprint people that cause crashes by not keeping their line will get punished or disqualified

      @@jonathansnell876 I guess that amateur cyclists take more risks than the pros since they most likely won't get any penalty and haven't learnt from crashing previously what not to do.

    my first instinct was to go left because you were going faster the mr butt cheek and would have had to slow down to get on his wheel, but after you poused it i figered that thare is nowere to go on the left an any way you'd probably have to go right eventualy to get past.
