Didn't like it too much on first listen, but the more I listen to it, the better it gets each time. Really unexpected from them. But I'm happy they still find ways to do new music that doesn't just sound like the first album with different riffs. (which is sadly what many people expect from their new songs)
I agree but I also love the unique heavy sound of rb one, mainly the emotive vocals that have real choruses not just the simple hooks that the new single has. Tbh I’m just salty that one of my fav rock metal bands is sounding like disco pop with killer drums and bass

I remember watching this way before the single dropped, and I did not like it. It’s freaking great! Plus I feel they’ve also definitely gotten better at playing it live.
damnnnn this bass line is so QOTSA-gy in the best way. that robotic/sample feel that the Queens likes to portray is really present in this. you can definitely hear the inspiration they got as an opening act for the QOTSA’s Villains tour. awesome!! can’t wait to hear more from the new stuff. Also, i remember seeing that music critics didn’t rate ‘How Did We Get So Dark?’ as high as their debut album because it didn’t bring much new things to the table coming from the debut. according to them, it sounded like more of the same. can’t say that of this new song!! this sounds really fresh. not that i care about the opinion of the critics - loved both albums and don’t really care if it ‘sounds more of the same’ as long as it keeps sounding great and badass as they always do hehe.

I agree with you on that. Im glad they're expanding their sound and trying new things, as opposed to the sometimes simple material of the debut album.
