Petition for Royal Blood to hire the guy that did the music video to become a official band member and do the walk whenever this song comes on!!!!!!!!!
A couple fun facts about that dude: His name is Liam Lynch and he directed Tenatious D: The Pick of Destiny. He also has a song you might know called United States of Whatever
@@themcnaughty736 in the boilermaker MV, he’s wearing the jacket of Josh Homme, lead singer of Queens of the Stone Age (who produced boilermaker). Liam has also done a MV for Queens as well! I thought that was super cool lol
Can we just appreciate how sick the multi instrumentalists at the back are, adding so much subtle polish to the sound, without making it sound too clinical so it still really feels live.
glad im not the only one who thought this! i was listening to the live version from the Reading Festival for ages and was a little surprised by the difference with the studio version :(
Yeah, on the album they made it very QOTSA like. I mean, it's cool too, but it's nothing against the classic raw and thick fuzzed out usual tones we get from Royal Blood like on the live versions.
@@danp2426 any idea of which pedal he uses in the bass (real bass, not the "guitar-like") part of the sound? I searched for some fuzzes, but nothing satisfied me so far.
Can't wait until I can see Royal Blood live again. Was supposed to see them live in May last year, but got cancelled due to covid. I'm still salty about that.
Saw them live in Santander opening for Muse. Just unreal how good they sound. Great singer, bass player and what a drummer...these guys are the real rock and roll deal
They played this song at Rock en Seine Festival in 2019 (France) i was not ready... 😂😂😂 heaviest tone i've ever heard really happy to see this track on their new album! Rock On!!!

I fucking love them. They bring a great refreshing heavy sound to the modern age (and it's definitely needed!). So glad I found them years ago. Thanks Mike and Ben! Hope to see you in concert someday!
I know we tend to focus on the bass when it comes to Royal Blood, but damn, Mike has one hell of a voice. His control over it gets tighter with every album, too. It sounds even better in the live versions. I could do without the full minute of incessantly flashing lights, though.
Yeah, he always had an interesting voice, but he's turning into a true vocalist. Mike keeps growing in vocals, which is amazing after this many albums under his belt, and Ben keeps making incredibly sick rhythms. These guys are unstoppable, because they haven't hit their apex yet. They are confusing to me, because they never release an album with any bad songs on it. That's crazy. Even Alice in Chains and Soundgarden have some duds in there. Every album can't be 'Dirt', but they easily smash out a new album with zero filler.

Never thought Tommy Vercetti can sing like this
Good one
You beat me to it!
Vice city vibes
Oh...my god. You are so right
Jeez can’t unsee now

This sounds wayy better than the studio version, love the grittiness of the live one.
agreed... after listening to the live version for so long before the studio version came out, I was kinda disappointed by it
the album mixing seems a bit off, unfortunately
glad im not the only one who thought this! i was listening to the live version from the Reading Festival for ages and was a little surprised by the difference with the studio version :(
totally agree!!
Used to love listening to the reading festival recording, it seems to just have more depth.
The new album slaps so hard, literally not a single bad sound
Nah, the last track, the slow one, is not very good. The rest is fine, but of their three albums, I'd say this new one is their weakest.
@@manuelper the new song is pretty meaningful
@@kingamer1234 I was talking musically not lyrically.
@@manuelper what is it that you dont like about the last track? Interestingly enough, it's one of my favs from the album
@@jonathanluders1564 mine too, it was a nice suprise, very bold move
The bass sounds so much deeper and grittier live than on the album. I think I actually prefer it.
Yeah, on the album they made it very QOTSA like. I mean, it's cool too, but it's nothing against the classic raw and thick fuzzed out usual tones we get from Royal Blood like on the live versions.
Honestly the tone from the bass in the live versions of boilermaker are always better that what was on typhoons
agree completely. I love the album verison & tone but this grittier sound makes version is a better song all the way around.
Any idea of which pedal Mike uses to get this bass tone? Im obssessed in getting this sound with my bass.
@@felipebentodealmeida1095 Fuzz pedals, guitar amps not bass amps, POG pedals (polyphonic octave gen) and a good bit of overdrive

@@felipebentodealmeida1095 he uses a tech 21 red ripper fuzz for boilermaker, and a custom made “brighton fuzz” bass fuzz from cog effects.
No one makes music like this anymore, and I only 43. Great band
Dirty bass amazing performance
2:02 I headbang from here until the end of the song every time.
Easily my favorite tune off the new LP!!
This breakdown is dope af, best part of the song for sure !
If you listen to self titled, how/dark, and typhoons all in order you’ll hear everything tighten up little by little...RB is aging like wine
Royal Blood is one those bands that delivers on every record. Every song soungs like Royal Blood and every song is amazing. What a great band!
Damn this bass tone sounds dirtier and better than the studio version i love it
I think it's because in the studio version, Mike used an actual guitar for some parts as opposed to a bass.
Can't wait until I can see Royal Blood live again. Was supposed to see them live in May last year, but got cancelled due to covid. I'm still salty about that.
I was trying to see them in May also but yeah that didn’t work out 😂

Hail lobster!
This is one of my top favorite Royal Blood songs 🔥 that drum groove by Ben combined with that bass from Mike is just perfect 😂😂😂
The most badass rock song in the new decade
HOW DOES IT SOUND BETTER LIVE 🤯
That tone is absolutely LETHAL. Wow
Nice to see that they upcycled the stage from the Muse - Time is running out video! Sustainability FTW
[Insert typical comment wondering how the heck a bass can sound like that]
So much goes into that I don’t know where to start
😂😂😂
thanks to the pedal
@@javiersc12 I know, but it is just too strange for me to hear a lead bass with that distortioned sound.
@@unacuentadeyoutube13 how is it strange it sounds EPIC 😂😂🤘
The drum groove of this song makes me feel soooo happy.
I have played blues for nearly 40 years and Royal Blood is the only modern band I would even consider playing guitar for. But they don’t need one.

Omg that tone
All their live recordings sound way better. I feel like the studio one sounds too perfect
The bass tone is incredible on this one
Posting all of these live performances is a perfect way to hype people up and get them to come to their concerts.
Just bought my tickets 🤪🤪🤪
This is why I always say the rhythm drives the tune. Come get some Catspit~!

Lyrics (may be usefull :3) :
I was looking for some kind of saviour
Someone still counting on
My worst behaviour
Knew there would be trouble
With devil eyes and magic hands
I'm all mixed up
Head like a cocktail shaker
Living in a house like an old bodega
Got the odds looking in my favour
Staring at the bottom of a boilermaker
So keep your feet on the ground
And listen to the sound of a real money maker
Something's twisted up
Right inside me
I'll let you use it up
So when you do leave
Take me to the edge and let me show you what was on my mind
Don't put all your money on me 'cause you and me are two of a kind
I'm all mixed up
Head like a cocktail shaker
Living in a house like an old bodega
Got the odds looking in my favour
Staring at the bottom of a boilermaker
I'm all mixed up
Like a boilermaker
I'm all mixed up
Head like a cocktail shaker
Staring at the bottom of a boilermaker
I'm all mixed up
Head like a cocktail shaker
Living in a house like an old bodega
Got the odds looking in my favour
Staring at the bottom of a boilermaker

Ben’s drums sound so crisp. Plus the depth of Mike’s bass. Sweet goodness. Saw them recently on their latest tour. Solid gold. Thanks lads.

Best band around at the moment
Royal bloods sound checks must take about a week.
Can hear the Queens of the Stone Age influence that's for sure. After all, it was produced by Josh Homme.
