correct me if i'm wrong, but bosses in DQM games (if not the whole franchise) have been historically immune to being thwacked, as instakilling a boss would be ridiculous, even if it is a random chance to work
i don't wanna spoil anything, since i've already beaten the game, but i'mma just say that this isn't really a prequel. It's more like an alternate version of events if that makes sense. You'll see anyways :P
