Very impressive build. I'd love to be able to recreate something like this myself, however I currently lack the space and tools to do it. I'd love to see something larger done in a similar style, as my gaming group are considering starting a Mordheim campaign, so ideas and tutorials on building more terrain in this fashion would be great.
Thank you! You might be interested in my tavern video. It's a larger interior built specifically with indoor playability in mind. That sort of idea can be scaled larger or smaller depending on the building you had in mind.
Great video! I just found your channel (it’s new I gather?), and find the videos of very good production quality, especially considering it is a new channel! It takes other channels longer to get this nice. Subscribed and hit the bell button looking forward to more vids!
This is a great build and a great video. I appreciate how clear and clean you produce everything. What program did you use for your original blueprint?
Hey there. Sand wouldn't have the weight needed to weather the foam-you're better off finding other heavy objects if rocks are not an option. Good luck!
Hi, I must say that your builds are a great inspiration for me as a new foam builder. However, in the UK, I am struggling to obtain a variable temperature controlled, hot wire wand, the sort you make your wood-grain with. Can you tell me what make of wand you use please? Thank you so much in advance, and carry on with your stunning builds.
Thanks Graham! Glad to hear. 😀 I found mine on Amazon (amzn.to/3HTRqx9). They don't tend to be branded, mine included, and seem to all come from oversea.
aaaah you work with self-made templates! have you saved the templates somewhere and can you send them to me? preferably from all of your houses that you showed here on youtube: D love greetings fraenky i'm happy to pay you for the work that goes into creating the stencils!
Not at the moment, but I'd love to this build again without the tech seeing as it's one of my most popular videos and there's people that don't have access to everything.
what browns do you use im getting a chalky look as well, and its annoying me, im very new to painting terrain so dont know what browns look good, i started with burnt umber and then tried to mix my own highlight and now it looks shite lol
Thank you! And it's a hot wire foam cutter with a wand attachment. There's a bunch on Amazon and the prices always fluctuate. Just make sure to get one with adjustable heat!
@@OkayHobbyTime First of all, thank you for an amazing video! I’m currently building 3 of these and have a question for you. I had these doors and windows printed and I feel like they are too small. Do you remember the sizing for when you printed them? Thank you for your time and amazing videos!
Terrain templates are now available 🙂 okayhobbytime.itch.io/
I have enjoyed to watch the sequence of laying the timbers. Sometimes it is quite difficult to figure out what goes on top of what logically.
It's amazing.... Thanks for this useful channel for helping beginner's like me..
Definitely going to try this but with the original wood roof I liked it when it was clean looking
Awesome-good luck with the build!
Can you provide the dimensions for the build? It looks amazing and I would love to do something similar. Thanks!
Thank you! A link to the full plans are now pinned in the comment section.
🙂👍
Great job. Looks really cool. I especially liked the moss on the roof
Thank you! 🙌
Huzzah,, nicely done.
Amazing work. Your guide is very clear and easy to follow
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.

Very nice. A lot of ideas for other purposes. Thanks.
Thank you!
Great work. Very nice results.
Thank you!
very nice/20, this is so great!
Thank you very much!
This is really beautiful but how would you tackle a larger playable building with different rooms and floors?
Thank you! You might be interested in my tavern video. It's a larger interior built specifically with indoor playability in mind. That sort of idea can be scaled larger or smaller depending on the building you had in mind.
3D Printing certainly took this build to the next level. Would you ever consider selling the finished products?

Will u provide ur blue prints I’d be willing to pay for them love ur work extremely detailed it looks amazing
Thank you! And yes these are available: okayhobbytime.itch.io/
Hi, At first because of the miniature I thought it was 3D printed. really good job congratulations
Thank you very much!
You've done a great job with this :)
Thank you! 😄
This is a great build and a great video. I appreciate how clear and clean you produce everything. What program did you use for your original blueprint?
Thank you! The program I used for the blueprint was Adobe Illustrator.
What is that wood burner called can’t find one with that wire tip
Search for "hot wire cutter". They're all similar, but make sure you get one with controllable temperature.
I realize this is a bit of a necropost, but I have a question on stone texturing. Would sand work for weathering the stone bricks, rather than rocks?
Hey there. Sand wouldn't have the weight needed to weather the foam-you're better off finding other heavy objects if rocks are not an option. Good luck!
@@OkayHobbyTime thank you
OMG THE TRICK ABOUT TEXTURING THE BRICKS SHAKING THEM WITH ROCKS SAY WHAAAAAAAAT

do you have a less technology dependent tutorial for this?
Not at the moment, but I'd love to this build again without the tech seeing as it's one of my most popular videos and there's people that don't have access to everything.
How did you make the proxxon foam cutting jig? I'd like to see that.
Hey, it's a kit purchased from a company called Shifting Lands. It comes in a few pieces and requires minor assembly.
what browns do you use im getting a chalky look as well, and its annoying me, im very new to painting terrain so dont know what browns look good, i started with burnt umber and then tried to mix my own highlight and now it looks shite lol
The issue is when there's a big jump in colour from brown to very light brown. Better to build up the colours in layers from dark to light.
What tool are you using for the vertical foam cut?
Hi there, I used a hot wire table by Proxxon for those cuts
@@OkayHobbyTime Thanks for the answer!
The foam pen you used to add the grain to the wood planks. What model/product is that? Great video BTW!
Thank you! And it's a hot wire foam cutter with a wand attachment. There's a bunch on Amazon and the prices always fluctuate. Just make sure to get one with adjustable heat!
That's so good. Would you commission build 2 of these?
Thank you! And I'm currently not taking on any commissions at this time.
and what did you do with the oozing wood glue before you painted it? can you just cut it off?
I find that it's a non-issue once it dries clear and is painted. If there's too much, I recommend using a damp cloth to clean it up.
@@OkayHobbyTime okay I see! I just take care that nothing becomes too much :)

Yep killed it with the 3d printer. Next
Thank you! 😀
You should 3D print chicken legs for the house
A hags hut might be in the works down the road... stay tuned!
bit to cartoonish for my taste. I think its the proportions of the pieces that makes it that way.
Haha, that's fair! I borrow a lot of inspiration from Blizzard and their chunkier, cartoonish art direction.
