that filter system looks pretty versatile, I loved the original magnetic vnd from freewell!
It is one of my favorite filters so far!

This is a super well done video. My compliments to the genius at work here. The edits are fantastic.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
Man, you really saved me from going nuts!
Since I own my Lumix S1H I have been using V-ND filters with different lenses, and I was always struggling with blue skies - especially when doing wide pans that change the angle between sun, sky, and the camera. Skies came washed out and often resulted in color bandings when color grading the footage. I was close to sell my camera and go for something else.
In Addition, I was wondering why skies came out so great from my other cameras (iPhone, DJI Osmo Pocket, Sony RX100VII) with less banding problems that with my S1H.
You video opened my eyes, and as an engineer I feel ashamed not having known earlier by myself: 2 polarizers in front of a lens can only lead to such problems.
Solution: Dipped my (expensive) V-NDs and give a shit on 180-degree shutter rule, allowing my camera to go as far down as 5 degrees shutter angle - adding motion blur in post is a breeze if needed.
Thanks so much for this eye opening tutorial!
Question,
Do you set the white balance while the ND Filters are on then shot a few seconds with a color checker? Is that the workflow?
Hey! For these tests I have the white balance set before the filters on so you can see the color shifts.
Setting white balance with the filter is a good way to fix some of those shifts.

Why are you posting videos only once a month? 20k subs is great but you've been doing this for eight years. I think it's time for you to change your strategy and tactics, don't you? your business model needs to change.
I agree!
