Astigmatism a.k.a Natural mist filter for your eyes. It helps soften the skin tone, creates beautiful halation around the light sources. I don't wear glasses because I hate the sterile clean image projected onto my retina.
😂
You clearly have no clue what a Astigmatism is.
@@eccentricsmithy2746 does it really matter though the idea is what counts
Astigmatism doesn't create halation it creates harsh streaks of light lines
HALP AHHAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHA
Great video, footage was fire!
Cheers man. Thanks for watching!
Aiyooo my fav creator is here
I got to know abt Promist from yo insta live yesterday 😂 thanks for that man
Literally about to say the same thing! Footage is so nice! Smooth!
The Gap better hit you up after this
i'd even settle for Old Navy.
I’ve watched so many video’s regarding dream fx/pro-mist/cine bloom filters to figure out if it’s something for me as a fashion videographer. So many video’s here on youtube are so misleading I feel like. Your video really helped me out a lot. Thank you for showing the daylight (with shallow depth of field) and the night sequence. This is super well done and resembles the (correct) use of this filter 100% in my opinion. Fact: your video made me decide to buy this filter. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I was literally looking at pro mist filters earlier this week. So glad I didn't pull the trigger on buying one then!
The music of the daylight set was perfect for that montage and The night footage was so sick man! Well done as always my dude!
Thanks so much! Music is EVERYTHING sometimes.
I’m currently looking at Pro Mist filters and BOOM, I come across this one. You completely changed the course, GREAT VIDEO!
Clarence Newby Awesome!
Excellent showcase of the diffusion filters. Great footage!
Great video explaining this filter. I got my cinebloom 20% on back order, it is coming by the end of this month. 😊 can’t wait!!!!!!
Dude thanks for making this. Always wondered why my Sony looks so crisp and not cinematic. Never realized how many people are using filters like these.
I don't shoot video, but I've collected some mist filters for my photography.
I agree with you on different strength best suited to different light conditions. There is no "best" option.
It's also depends on aperture: the more you stop down, the heavier diffusion you can use.
A point that I think should be emphasized: these things do not make your picture "better", but rather allow you to have something unique if you able to do work in post.
My current night time fav is white, not black, pro-mist 1. The color of bloomed lights looks more coldish-ethereal than with black pro-mist. I'm on the hunt to add a 1/2 white pro-mist for daylight.
For the daylight I think I slightly prefer Kenko black pro-mist 1 to Tiffen black pro-mist 1. Again, it comes down to color: kenko color feels a touch more pleasant to me.
I have Tiffen black pro-mists ranging from 1/8 to 1 and I advise to skip 1/8. It's better to go big, than to go subtle. Even in strong daylight I'd go for 1/4.
I also have Tiffen white pro-mist 3... maybe someday I'll figure it out, but for now I prefer to pretend it just doesn't exist.
Most of my mist filter experiments is not online, but I have some published.
Some of the recent shots in this album were made by me with mist filters: www.flickr.com/photos/curry-hexagon/albums/72157712025509062
As for the Moment stuff, I would have been interested in checking them out if they came up with 52 and 49 mm options, which they didn't.
I know this is from 3 years ago ;) but thanks for sharing. I recently found that a stronger strength around 1 can look muddy with some of my zoom lenses but with my faster primes they look great 🤷♂️ guess the contrast and sharpness on some of these new primes are just nuts and “cuts through” / keeps a sharper image. Any similar findings on this? Any new filters you have tried out or like to use?
@@JasonLawrenceNoel I'm afraid I haven't picked up camera in awhile, let alone at night, where I had the most fun with mists.
Perhaps after the war ends.
Man that night footage was dope! Reminded me of Stranger Things. Nice work Patrick.
Couldn’t find any videos on the Cinebloom filter that was informative until I came across this! Thanks for helping me make a purchase decision! Subbed, liked and all that good stuff :)
thanks so much!
Moment is crushing it, and you crushed this video dude. Night stuff was 👌🏻 have to pick one of these up
thanks man! you won't regret it.
This is a superb review Patrick. Thank you.
Great video Patrick, and that footage was something else - love the night stuff 👏🏻
same! night stuff really surprised me. thanks for watching!
I JUST ordered a set! I can't wait to try them out. Thanks for making this video, Patrick!!
Thanks for watching it! You'll love em.
Patrick Tomasso I just got my set in today!! They’re so much fun so far. 😍
Petrichor Films amazing! glad to hear it.
It's the first video that I watched of you - I'm definitely subscribing! Great approach and content.
Cheers and welcome to the channel!
Loving the footage! Glad I grabbed both levels 🤘🏻
smart move!
Patrick T B-Roll + Makeup and Vanity Set is just *chef kiss*
thank you for this. amazing stills - making me want to get into it. So grateful you broke this up by day and night. Definitely a reason to buy both if you can.
🙏🙏🙏
This video just gives me all the vibes. Can't stop watching this.
thanks tim!
You’re a lifesaver! Awesome video man. I was trying to decide, but then I watched your video! 😃. Thanks man 🙏
cheers!!
@@impatrickt Just purchased it (20%)🎉
flawless video, m8! keep up the good work
Great video, compact and quality information. Thank you!
Well done Patrick! Beautiful videos and you've presented the matter very well. Thanks.
cheers Elbert!
I’ve been eyeing the BPM filters for a while but I’m glad I found this before I pulled the trigger!
Also that night footage dude!! It kinda gave me a nostalgic feeling and had so much character. Yep, I’m sold!
Great video. I love the way you chopped it up.
This has a nice retro look to it, love it.
my mood!
I just ordered a 20% cinebloom lens for my Tamron 28-75 and future Sony 85 1.8. Now that I’ve seen this video, I’m glad I made the right choice. I might buy a 67mm 10% and both filters when the 49mm size comes out so I can use the Zeiss 55 with this.
awesome!
dat grading and look of the footage is amazing! I use Pro Mist filters for over a year now, but I think I will test the Filters from Moment too!
GREAT VIDEO, literally just ordered one because of you haha.
Just bought this. You totally sold it. Looking forward to trying it out!
Top video and demo, great stuff
Great review! The price difference compared to Tiffen may be pretty small depending on what strength and filter size you’re buying. I own several strengths of the 77mm BPM, most of which I managed to pick up for around $70-85 each. But prices seem to fluctuate and you can’t always find them for that cheap. Glad there are other companies entering the ring with some good quality alternatives.
competition is always good!
I knew this video was coming as soon as i saw Moment's promo video of this
Dude your footage was fire 🔥 I had actually put off buying one of these filters but after watching your video went to the moment online store and picked up two of these filters both the 10% and 20%. I do like a really sharp image sometimes but I’m kinda in the middle about it because sometimes I really like that soft light dreamy effect that you get with the moment lens also your shots with the film stick cinestill 800T are really nice dude
enjoy it! thanks for watching 🤘
I’m clearly missing a jean jacket. 😭
LMAO actually wheeze laughed at this.
I got one. It’s got a less is more pin on it because I’m that swimple
This is amazing! I would love to see a sequence with the 10% just to see how they compliment each other... but i'm sold 😁
i dont even have the 10% ha
I’m sold!!! Brilliant video!!
OOOh, these example short films are so much of my taste :P I love them! :)
Bro you were like one of my favorite new UA-camrs and I really appreciate this video the way you talk the time and effort and returning my black protest which was $70 and buy these instead I’ll be using the link in your bio thanks again
thanks!
Great video, first time watching your content, and loved everything from the actual topic, to the style and loved the font/color combo!
Glad you enjoyed!
Patrick Tomasso not only enjoyed it! I slept on it and ended up ordering one for myself. Went with 20% since I do like a more extreme view it produced. ETA for delivery is Saturday!
@@TohirT BEAUTIFUL!
That night footage is gorgeous!
"Hands off the KY! It's for my lens."
Never again.
I agree, that 20% at night is hitting just right. Going to pick up both. 👊
good call my man!
how is it ? thinking about getting both.
such a good video! Great explanation -Thanks
Glad it was helpful!
this was super helpful. Stoked to get mine
sick!
You sir are becoming my fav gear reviewer🔥
woah! thanks so much
Both Day and Night were amazing 🤩
I just bought both. Got my hands on them two nights ago but haven't tested out the 10% yet. I've managed to take a few test night shots on the 20% last night but im gonna be doing a shoot tomorrow night using them both.
This is going to take my fashion photography to the next level!
100%!
OMG Amazingly put together video!! Which camera was used for these example shots? Was it 10-bit footage?
Subbed. I love the fact that you are searching for character instead of super sharpness. Same for me. Often get compliments with my Chinese lenses that produce a lot of lens flare: “wow does your camera edit your photo’s?”
Jor Cap right on Joe. Big reason I like my old Fuji X100. Lens is a hair soft.
I’m definitely planning to get these now. Love the look!
You should!
Sadly they've a back order on alot of the main MM diameters til december.... Yes..... December
@@JohnnyMcMillannot too bad that's a couple months
Digging the video style. Really nice!
thanks!
Beautiful photography dude!
Love all the lighting in this video! looks great man! so, what's that lens? are you using that 10 percent for the video of yourself? This is a great option from the pro mist, glad I clicked, great work man, well put together.
Raymond Ramos Hey Raymond! I used the SLR Magic 25mm f0.95 - and I didn’t use a filter on the talking portion. Just the 20% on the examples!
Swimple. Love it.
Edit: That footage looks totally like a high-budget music video
🙏🙏🙏
These filters are probably the biggest jump in being closer to how actual film renders. I know people say just shoot film but in reality not everyone can and also those who work in the pro market you need reliability and quickness and clients STILL want that filmy look sometimes.
Great work, great video. Well done
thanks!
amazing video and amazing shots WOW!
Very happy to learn about these!
Glad you like them!
Love the test footage!!!
cheers!
Wanted to order this filter for my desert trip next month but it's on back-order until Dec. Guess I'll DIY until then!
Amazing footage, nice work 🙌🏻 You film in b raw or prores for this? Looked great!
BRAW GEN 5 beta!
Damn Patrick, I never knew about these filters and the photos look gorgeous!
glad to have enlightened you!
Nice video man, I think you may have tipped me toward the Cinebloom!
sweet! holler if you have questions.
Great video, love the photos and footage! What lens were you using and did you use it on the Blackmagic camera as well as the Fujifilm?
video just the blackmagic photos are on the fuji! lens on the pocket is slr magic 25mm
Such a great vid and sick footage man. Used to add vr glow to my footage to get this look or Gaussian blur the highlights in photoshop defs gonna just pick one hp
awesome!
awesome night footage
cheers!
Need to get this now, the look in night shots 😍
yeah it’s fire!
What a great work man! Amazing stuff! Have you used nd filter + cinebloom at night? Or just a cb 20% filter?
Thanks. Never needed an ND night.
This is such a good review 🔥🔥🔥
thanks buddy!
Great video as always! I already own the 1/2 Tiffen promist filter is there enough of a difference from the cinebloom 20% and 1/2 tiffen or should I opt for the 10% cinebloom instead?
If you want something different from your 1/2 I'd go for the 10% - it's strong but definitely more subtle. Check out Matt Day's video he tested the 10%!
For some reason I hear "bloom" in the guitar of the song repeatedly haha nice video!
like it man, good info, good skills ....gotta sub ;)
Excellent video, now I will buy this.
Dude awesome footage. I just shot a music video with it as well and loved using the cinebloom!
Thanks for your great work !!
Love it Patrick. 💯
What FPS was all the slow-mo footage shot at? Great video and review.
Honestly amazing video! The night footage was incredible! Just loved the colours. What program do you use to colour grade the footage?
Thanks for watching Grisho! I use Resolve.
You are very talented. You have agood eye for good places and objects.
Cool video mate.
It does wonders in high contrast situations 😁
Nice vid! 20 is too strong for my taste but I am pretty stoked to get something like this!
I like you! :) great night footage, really wonderful!
cheers!
Tbh I can definitely see why the BPM is more expensive, they just look so much better. Moment really should have limited the halation to the highlights instead of just spreading it over the frame. I am considering buying a BPM 1/8 and the Moment 20% though.
truevilmeow here’s the problem with BPM though. They retain contrast but I would rather shoot the fade so I have that option rather than shoot crunchy and try to fade in post (which usually adds noise from lifting shadows) you can get your blacks wherever you want in post with the Moment because it’s lifting the entire waveform.
Finally have a use for that last remaining bit of the lube bottle (lube that i only use for photography, of course!). ❤
That does look awesome! thanks
i had recently bought an 1/8 pro mist but lost it at home within the same week. was thinking of getting another one but this might just be better.
Reminds me of 80's film footage such as the fog etc
Lmao, the way you snuck "vaseline, olive oil...lube" in there. 😅
I've been considering the Cinebloom, but this video definitely made it easier.
BROTHER! Love this video, wish I watched before I bought my BPM 1/2 lolol -- also, what Font are you using?
Canela - and thanks!
thanks for that very informative video!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video and review! I was wondering what your thoughts are on stacking with the 1/4 BPM i currently have. I don't know if i want to commit to the 20% but like the idea of potentially stacking for when I want a stronger effect.
it would be REALLY strong. but it's doable. im not sure if you'd like the look though, hard to say.
Patrick Tomasso Patrick Tomasso oops! I forgot to mention. “Stacking with the 10%” so I don’t have to commit to the 20%. Not stacking with the 20% which seems overkill haha. Anyway. Thanks for the reply!
Jesse 오제슬 Oh ohhhh. I can’t guarantee 2 10% filters will look exactly the same as one 20% - just due to the distance you’re adding from the lens which can impact flaring. It’d be an interesting experiment though!
Solid video my guy
✌️✌️✌️
Nice video man...what lens did you use in night?
Very insightful king
