I wish they had played this song back in the late 2000's and early 2010's when Joe's voice was still the GOAT. Kickass performance though.

@@Alex26108 what are you talking about? His vocals on the Link days were not fully developed yet, he was still trying to find his signature sound, that doesn't mean he didn't have it though. Just listen to The Link Alive, he growls the whole way through and doesn't even hesitate to give his all.
@@Alex26108 Um... what? The link alive is absolutely amazing, and his voice is great, like it has been even on their first album, where thanks to the better production it sounds even better imo. He was just really young, but it still sounded unarguably fantastic. Have you heard the album version of space time, or the link alive version? No fucking idea what you're hearing...
He has been growling a lot on the link. Mts and terra inc. But he started screaming more on twoaf. Besides do u remember the evil devil like vocals he did in terra inc

So glad they did this live together finally but I think Joe needs to get some vocal coaching or he'll end up blowing his voice out for good. If that happens then I can't really see a future for the band.
What's really surprising is just how close randy sounds to the studio from ten years ago. Joe could do with someone showing him how to scream, his singing sounds safe enough. I'm thinking if anyone were to do it, it's probably the guy from sylosis, since they have a pretty similar sounding scream.

@@NJP609 since about 2016, he even said he’s just extremely lazy unfortunately. When he tries and gets passionate, you can hear that good 2013/14 growl come through.
@@marcjuarez5467 he stated in an interview that the theme of heavier vocals is becoming boring and repetitive, I can definitely attest to a power that comes forth when you actually WANT to sing in the style needed.

I think he must be experimenting with techniques or something, because I saw them last night in St. Louis and he sounded WAY better than I've ever heard him before (dude was even busting out gutturals and shit). I saw them on Knotfest 2019 and his voice was shot to hell and he could barely get through their opening set.
This is a great moment.

Randy is either mic'd up louder than Joe for this song, or it actually sounds like Joe is struggling with his vocals which I've never heard before, even towards the end of their sets. Either way, this is sick

for someone who has been doing it as long as he has with the amount of intensity he puts into it every show, i think he sounds just fine. i understand where ur coming from though. its hard to meet the standard that gojira has layed down over the years, not even they can out do themselves

@Stefan Born in winter is pretty much ruled out. If I recall correctly the vocal parts are too low for Joe to sing correctly live.
@@RojuOfficial The dynamics require a too soft setting for the low parts to come through properly. He doesn't think that can be achieved live on a Gojira concert.

Love this band, but when compared to somebody else's vocals that's used a better technique for years, Joe sounds like shit. He needs to whip his voice back into shape
Joe may need some vocal lessons and a new technique because honestly it looks like he is trying too much to scream and growl. That could cost him his voice soon
