  • Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the Cuisinart CJE-1000 juicer. LINK to Cuisinart CJE-1000 Juicer: amzn.to/2cJjqZk
The unit measures about 16.5 inches tall by 14.5 inches wide so it’s large and will take up a lot of counter space.
The housing is stainless steel and the plastic parts that touch food are BPA free. There are five speeds 1 to 5 on the dial control and this is the on/off button.
Let’s put the juicer together. Place the foam separator into the pitcher. This pitcher holds one litre or about 4 cups.
Put the cover on. Put the filter bowl on top of the base, spout goes to the right. The filter disk goes in the bowl. The mesh filter basket sits inside. Place the cover on top, insert the hinge into the slot. The handle lock should be in the open position. Press the handle in and up to close. The food pusher goes in the food tube - align the groove with this indent. The pulp container goes under the cover and the juicer pitcher on the other side with the handle in front. The feed tube opening is 3 inches so it should fit some whole fruits and vegetables. A nylon brush is included for cleaning the filter basket. The instruction manual has recipes and a juicing chart with speeds listed for different fruits and vegetables as well as the yield.
We’ll juice oranges, apples, carrots and greens to test out this Cuisinart. Before juicing, the spout should be in the open position. You can adjust the spout opening to be smaller or larger depending on how much foam you want in the juice. If you want more foam, don’t use the filter disk and make the spout opening larger. As for the speed, low speed for soft produce and high speed for hard produce.
We’ll start with one pound of apples, mine are larger than 3 inches so I have cut them up. Plug in the juicer, set the dial to speed 5. The blue led light will blink. Press the button to start the juicer, the light stays on. Put the apples in and push with the food pusher. Press the button to stop the juicer, turn the speed to O. Turn the spout to close so there’s no dripping when you pull out the pitcher. Should get 10 ounces according to the manual. We got 8 ounces
Next, we’ll juice one pound of oranges using speed 2, I’ve taken the rind off and left the white pith on. Should get 12 ounces according to the manual. We got 8 ounces.
Now I’ll juice kale, carrots and cucumber using speed 5. We got about 16 ounces of juice.
The pulp can be used in recipes for cakes, muffins and soups or compost the pulp.
To take the juicer apart, unplug the unit. Take out the food pusher, press the release on top to unlock the cover. Take the cover off. The filter basket comes right up, disk and the filter bowl.
All the parts are dishwasher safe or you can hand wash in hot, soapy water. The motor housing - wipe it down with a damp cloth. It is always best to clean the juicer right after juicing. Dry all the parts before juicing. This juicer is definitely not for tiny kitchens since it is so large.
This Cuisinart Juicer did a decent job on the vegetable juice as well as the apple juice. It didn’t do as well on the orange juice.
As always, I hope you found this review useful. Don’t forget to subscribe and I’ll see you next time. Thanks for watching :)
