- I setup the Harbor Freight Industrial Blast Cabinet with Dual Doors.
From opening the box to operation. This is an awesome blast cabinet and if you need a super unit for a good price you should check this unit out.
I am not affilated with Harbor Freight in anyway. This review is my opinion.

Wow!!! I didn't even know that Harbor Freight had an industrial model. That thing is big and looks like it already has a few upgrades that are very needed anyway. Super cool video my friend.
Great cabinet.
I have two blast cabinets and will be adding a third. Glass beads, aluminum oxide and silicon carbide. The glass beads gets used the most and I have this cabinet also set up to use baking soda. This works as you don’t reuse the soda and it is softer than the glass beads so they don’t interfere with each other. The silicon carbide is used by my wife to do glass etching and carving. I can’t believe how few UA-camrs have these cabinets as I use them on every project I do. I switched my cabinets to use a pressure pot which gives a much more uniform feed of abrasive but adds a significant expense to upgrade. I have it hooked into my dust collection system which eliminates a piece of equipment. Every serious metalworker should consider one. Buy a second glass window as you will eventually need it as the glass does get etched by the beads.
Thanks Bruce for all the suggestions, we will be doing some of that.
Nice unit, like the access options, nice review along with getting a “seagull award”….lol
Thanks Chuck, it is awesome.
Well Randy I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that has to take things back apart and put them together again ;-)
Not it often but there are those times. Thanks Bill, be safe..
Looks like a nice blast cabinet and well built, I really like the larger capacity! Well done Randy!
Really impressed with it Ray. Thanks.
Great deal a a nice blaster. The HF cabinets are a great value, tweaking em here and there, they do the job.
This is an awesome cabinet, no tweaks necessary with this one. Out of the box it works awesome. Thanks for stopping in.
@@RRINTHESHOP Yep it seems HF got all the lil bothers out of the newer models indeed.
Thanks for this great video!
Thank you Matt. Nice blast cabinet.
Looks like a great addition to the shop! Now you just need to dig out of all of that snow... Hope you are well - TZ
Thanks Tom. Doing ok, more snow coming right now, oh joy. Kind of tried of winter. Take care.
Looks real nice Randy. HF has really up'd their game I think they have over 1000 stores now. I used to get things from them back in the 70's when they were strictly mail order. I think they were Harbor Freight Salvage back then and quality was in the toilet. Now they have some good value tools, good warranties, and good customer service. I wish you and your son nothing but the best with that new blaster.
Harbor Freight Salvage, that brings back memories. I remember getting a metal cutting band saw from them in those days. And after all these years it is still running and getting used probably more than most other tools. Only thing I can remember is changing the bushing or bearing on the idler wheel. You brought back good memories, thanks I don't think I would have ever thought of that again.
Very nice. I remember when that was there name. Thanks Jim.
Those cabinets are not bad for the price. Nice addition. You and your son should get your money's worth in short order. Cheers
Yep for sure, great value.
Looks great Randy! That will get a lot of use for sure. I could use a cabinet like that on a weekly basis. Nice job. Thanks for all the sizes and specs.
Works great sure nice to have available. Needs some space. Thanks Jon.
If you get tired of listening to the dust collector, do what I did and mounted an exhaust blower off a furnace and piped the exhaust outside. It hardly makes any noise now and it is much more pleasant to use, also mine is wired so when I turn the light on the blower also comes on with the same switch. I have had a glass bead cabinet for years now and I sure would hate to be without it, the time it saves cleaning up parts is almost immeasurable.
Thank you Imystery for the suggestions. We will be looking into these options.
Nice one Randy. Cool tool for sure.🔧⚒🔩
Very nice Randy, you need one. Thanks for the comment.
Very interesting to see that this has the good upgrades that cheaper unit dose not have that every one has trying to upgrade too maybe HF will make a mid grade that fixes short comings of cheaper version . Thanks for showing the better version still priced better than the high dollar professional units with the options.
Thanks, this is a very nice unit we love it.
One more thing, I had a bit larger unit I made in the shop at work, we had a dust collector there and I replaced the filter in the dust collector with the used air filters from the diesel trucks. They are quite large and since there is not near the air volume going through them they worked just fine maybe better.
Good deal on the filters. Thanks.
For being a HF, that is one nice cabinet. Nice footage randy, your 3 hrs would be a full day for this ole Bear,,hehe! My Neuropathy has increased over the past year to a point that assembling things with small hardware fasteners has become a real pain in my butt, but life goes on 🙂Not a bad price, and a steal at 700 (@@)! Boy you guys are getting hammered on snow fall. Have a great rest of winter 😎
Thank you Bear. Tough winter here, it be nice to get power back.
Been watching your channel 10 up there, I once went up to Buffalo NY and we got caught in one of there blazzers, but this one out west is the Real Macoy for sure. Love the green house!
You sure did get a good deal on it. Good to see you again Randy. Thanks for the video, I went and bought a reclaimer for my older red stand-up cabinet. I think it will make a good upgrade.
Have a good weekend and thanks again.
Thanks Glenn, yep great deal.
Yea, I'd say you got a deal. Enjoyed the assembly.
For sure Lee. Thanks for stopping by.
Hey Randy, Nice add to the shop. My blasted media tends to "cake up" a bit and doesn't always like to flow towards the pick-up... and after a while the pick-up uncovers and isn't doing any blasting, just blowing air at the part. especially if i haven't used it in a while. I add an electric viberator to the lower section on the outside. An inexpensive eBay job... like $30. it was a great addition. keeps the media flowing and I just have to switch it on for a few seconds hear and there.
Thank for the idea. Thanks Chuck.
You got a good deal there Randy. I wish I had room for that sort of thing. Thanks for the video keep on keeping on.
Yep kid of big unit, boy sure is nice to use. Thanks Harold.
Good one Randy ! That's really nice ! Only option for me is an outdoor install...maybe at some point. Thanks for the review 👍
ATB....
Real nice Dean, find room.
I like that dust collector. I have HF's smaller stand up red cabinet and currently using a bucket with a cyclone and vacuum. That dust collector would be a nice upgrade.
Works great Tom. I hope you are able to get thing back together. Call if I can help.
@@RRINTHESHOP Thanks.
Nice review Randy. Thanks.
Thank you for stopping by. Great cabinet.
very good blast cabinet,,good video randy
Real nice thanks Tr
I would get the Harbor Freight cyclonic dust separator and place it between the cabinet and the dust collector HF provided. For $40.00 it is an excellent investment. It will save on filter replacement and the vacuum motor. Another great upgrade are the boron carbon nozzles. They are sold on Ebay and other places. These will outlive any ceramic nozzle and another great investment. I don't know what blast guy is supplied but the Clemco or Asian made Clemco style clone are great. I sealed my smaller cabinet with Phenoseal caulk so the mung stays in the cabinet and the dust separator bucket and converted the suction feed to a gravity feed from the bottom (I don't know how this cabinet is set up to blast). I can actually see what I am doing and what I am blasting. Hope this is helpful.
Yep I was thinking about would really help. Thanks for the other suggestion.
Looks like it works great.
If you don't have enough room for it in your shop Randy you could build an addition to the shop and make a video series out of it..
Sorry, had to say it😉
Have a Jesus filled day everyone
Greg in Michigan
I will get right on that. Thank you Greg for the idea. Would you be will to pay extra taxes?
@@RRINTHESHOP
Check in the mail😉
Good afternoon Randy! Nice cabinets
Hi Craig. Very nice. Thanks
I think that pusher on the vac should also hit the filter to knock dust off to increase the suction.... much like a wood working collector to knock the flour off.
Thanks for the insight on the pusher, I will have to check about that.
Sweet. Great score. I need to get on facebook...
Thank, yeah sometimes there are some great deals, but you have to be fast.
Nice shop addition and good assembly tips Randy. Interesting timing, I'm looking at purchasing a similar sized blast cabinet for my shop.
Would have been nice to see some in process blasting over your shoulder.
This is a real nice cabinet works great. I tried to film the blasting, to much glare from the glass you could not really see anything. Thanks for the comment.
@Randy Richard In The Shop Cool. As thorough as you are, I figured you at least tried.
Great video, I am curious on the side door dimensions and the front door measurements. Sorry if I missed it in the video. Thanks.
I don't have the cabinet here so i will estimate. Top 40" X 18", Ends 24" X24". Thanks for watching.
Thanks

Great blast cab. MC
One issue people run into with a large unit like this is they require a lot of air. I think this unit uses about 600 litres a minute. You need a decent air compressor to run it.
The size of the unit has no relationship to how much air is used, that is all about the nozzle size and the mixture Venturi. Those features can be change to lower air flow setups. Thank you for you comment.
@@RRINTHESHOP OK.I just looked up the required air supply for the unit and it said 600 litres minute. The other units were half that or less. Makes sense what you say.
Remembered it. 21:43
👍👍
I think cabinet looks great but I would move my switches all to the light panel so I didn’t need to go to both sides of back. To turn on. Right side blaster, left vacuumed, than center top light ? What were they thinking😮
Thanks Konrad for the great idea. I think we will be all over that one.
That’s a nice looking unit Randy. Always wanted one them. Unfortunately we don’t have a Harbour Freight or similar company down here in Oz. Cheers 🍻
I'll pick you up one if you pay for shipping. 😉
@@hilltopmachineworks2131 Thanks Tom you’re too kind 😝. I’m watching my spending now, the Aussie economy has gone down the sewer over here. Recession is coming mate 🤦♂️
@@AaronEngineering Understand that. It is rough here too.
Thanks Aaron, real nice blaster. Shipping would kill you.
They are a handy addition to the shop!
Curious on the outcome of the Dro you bought for the lathe?? Wanting to purchase one but waiting on your assessment.
Video is all shot just need some time to edit. thanks for asking.
I have the same cabinet, Randy. I highly recommend contacting the folks at Tacoma Company. That guy can make the cabinet perform even better by hot-rodding the gun. After doing his mods, my cabinet performs better than the $5K commercial unit we have at my work. Isn’t there a switched outlet on the light box that can power up the dust collection system with the light?
Thanks Charlie, we will look into that.
When the front /top opens will it go past 90deg so it stays open on its own so you can load it without it trying to fall shut?
Yes Brian it will.
Hi there. I can’t find that cabinet. All I see is the red cabinet that they have been selling for years.
Maybe they stopped selling this.
Man, I was holding out for one of these till I got my bigger shop but it looks like they just stopped selling it.
Great Blast cabinet. We love it. Thanks.
Randy! How are you?! Thank you for doing the video. I bought the little red HF cabinet at Mike's urging...pretty sure I need the big white one. What do you think of HF's 'upgrades' as compared to the little red HF cabinet upgrades (Tacoma's 'Cadillac' kit)? Don't need buyer's remorse... Thanks, Randy -Michael
So far this cabinet is great, I like the space for larger projects. Thanks Mike.
Link to cabinet doesn't work for me. It looks like maybe this cabinet is no longer available.
I see that. They are still selling the dust collector. Probably just not in stock right now. Thanks, HNY
where did you order the dust colector. I found nothing on HF website.
You usually have to call a store direct to see if they have one. Thanks.

Yours will be much easier to put together now that you have had some practice.
Jere
Oh yeah that is it. Thanks Jere.
What do you set PSI at?
about 80 psi. we run it. Thanks.
You missed a bolt. 20:43
Oh yeah it happens.
Stole the 'Seagull' title from ole Outside Screwball 👍
This was sons find, he was all over it. Thanks Skip.
Cabinet dont make the Cabinet better its the gun n compressor and media guns are trash if it doesn't remove heavy rust lets say off the size of a quarter in 10 sec or last its junk you cant stand there for ten minutes with all the energy it takes to remove it,compressor running all electrical usage
