Good enthusiast you found in Dave. Boy Scouts! Not just boys anymore... logic no longer prevailing in society... but one can find satisfaction saving old trucks. My dream remains to restore historic vehicles. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for taking us along with you Rick and Jamie. Jamie's a snazzy dresser, That GMC rare find is like money in the bank. Some of the parts alone are worth having. Nice body styling on the completed truck. Ok, nice work Guys. Cheers !!!****.
Classic Truck Rescue Very Welcome. I love following, you on Rare Finds 😊 Especially Chevy,Gmc Older the Better For me. Txs Again Rick,For Making this Tomboys Day !!
I live in Eugene, in the early '80's I owned a 1956 GMC long narrow box that I had new oak rails put in, but it had the V8 Hydramatic things on both fenders, all the interior details this one has including the plates on the firewall the GMC motormount bracket, the tinted front and rear windows and large back window. It also had a larger fuel tank than the usual 17 gallon one, 25 or 26 if memory serves. I had to replace the crappy 307 with a 283 from a corvette with a 400 Turbo behind it she was a pretty strong runner. She's still around, I saw her going the other way a couple years ago, a good old horse.....
Way K😎😎L ! my first vehicle was 55 Chevy shortbed was my high school graduation present lol with no drivetrain ! had to quickly learn how to work on cars, sure miss it 😊
FYI Rick, GMC did designate some of the carryall style trucks as Suburbans. Our family owned two of them when I was a kid. A 58 and then a later 60s model. Both had tailgate and upper lid rather than doors on back.
Oh yeah... I'm pretty much the equivlant to you but anything that's rare or super rare and fugly not wanted i buy... LOL but I hope you save the 36? and the GMC Carry-All :)
I used to have a 1964 ss chevelle with a-396 in it when I got it!!!!!!But you couldn't bolt up the power steering unit and I traded it for a 350 and put it in!!!!Wouldn't run like the big block but with the low geard rear end and four speed manual transmission it was no shloce!!!!!!
Hey Rick, I don't know about you, but I think the 55 GMC trucks had the best looking grills. They were far better looking than the Chevy of the same era.
Two weeks without a single puff on Sunday Ken. Getting much easier. Got my voice back and feeling better than I have in a long time. Thanks Fer Askin'. -Rick
That '36 Chevrolet coupe is neat, and I'm with you on it making for a cool gasser....but with the advanced state of rot, not sure there's enough left to salvage even for that. Frustrating to see someone strip down a very rare GMC in favor of a not-as-rare Chevy, but ownership grants the right to do as they wish, right? LOL...good to know you've put an end to the carcass-picking of it and that it stands a chance of being rebuilt.
I found one of these trucks around my area for $8000 needing some work, I thought it was a little much but now that I watched this video I know it’s not
A Lot Of Work, but only 300 of them & a good bit of the original parts are there...the coupe is even more work...if the money's right, l say go for it - l just don't see either 1 of these 2 showing up again... can't be that many left
Hey that bed is from a 1957 58 Chevy cameo not a gmc if you look at the front of the bed you can see where the bed badges go on it gmc beds didn’t come with these holes up front it’s just a gmc truck with a cameo bed off a 57 are 58 truck.
Awesome video Rick I always enjoy your Channel did you end up getting the 5 window cab?? The 36 Chevy was cool to see but it broke my heart seeing her sit in the weeds perfect candidate for a ratrod thanks for sharing my buddy
Just wondering if you will be helping Jeff sell that hoard. Elderly Iron stuff. Gosh ,I would like to be out there.I am particularly interested in the retrctables.
It's a shame that truck is so parted out. I think that might be one to stabilise and sit on as you never know what might turn up in a spares stash or with another truck in the future. It's super rare (1 of 300, so probably less than 100 left now) and it doesn't look like being too testing a restoration once all the parts are in one place. You'll probably never own another one, and if a better or more complete one turns up you can always pass it on to another enthusiast...
I agree 100%. The scattering of this particular Truck's Bones stops right now. I will keep what is there together and start adding parts instead of subtracting. The Old Guy deserves some Love. Thanks for watching again my Friend. -Rick
Is this resent " Mc Fly " footage? Nice clear camera, I like AT&T tablets for better performance. Most pawn shops around here you can pick them up for around $35.00 .
@@johnnyhawkins43 Thanks for the 50+ year old "false fear mongering news flash"... pretty sure at least 2x more poeple have died in corvettes than Corvairs possibly in the same decade...
Well...you can reach me at rick@classictruckrescue.com if you are serious. I get a lot of people saying I should save a truck...but a 1958 D-100 Sweptside would be a good excuse for a road trip and vacation....and "Rough-Shape... doesn't mean a cool old truck shouldn't be saved.... Thanks, -Rick
Vin tag on a 1955 GMC will not designate it as a Suburban Carrier. Just as the vin tag on a Chevy Cameo will not designate it as such.....ask the old guys that know....they will agree with me on this....the only way you can be sure is to trace the truck's history.

I had a 56 GMC truck back in the seventies with a 396 and a four speed manual transmission out of a Chevelle! AS SHARP AS ANY YOU EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!
That’s a gorgeous Red Truck! 😮
Sure is....don't know who owns it...but its sweet.

Yes, one of my Carryalls has the "Clamshell" rear doors and one has the "Barn" doors. Thanks, -Rick
I always wanted a '56 GMC just like the one in "The Misfits".
Great find Rick!!

Looks like somebody got a drone for Christmas. LOL
Somebody got HIMSELF a drone...lol.
They can be fun.
when ever I see a bunch of old wrecks and the owner says. "I was meaning to fix it" I think of Pa Kettle, he always said that.
Have to give some props to the old guys that realize they need to let some stuff go though.
I don't find fault its just an observation. the rusting wrecks now fetch big money. could be seen as a wise investment.
too bad she got parted up! good bones there though!!! great vid!!
I can tell it hurts being able to see the rare bed and not able to get it. That's part of business though.
That's one mean ass dog on the end credit.
I agree with the girls joining the Boyscouts. WTH is the world coming too???
I like older trucks i think they last longer then newer vehicles
Hope I can come see what you have for trucks one of these days
Just another day shopping , LoL....

What a shame the box is gone, would be nice to get it back somehow.
I found a box for it. Jamie and I will be going to get it in June.
Now that would be rad

Oregon is awesome just too many darn tourist’s
Nice find Too bad the original owner did not know what he had.
Like you said it is what it is peace out
Had all the parts to build up a 56 suburban......but never found the time to do it.....sold it

Wish I'd have kept the engine and hydraulic, for that body style. Been worth something now
That GMC hydramatic is probably the same as the 4spd hydros in Oldsmobile and Cadillac cars.
Correct, just a different bell housing.
That color green looked to be 1968 Camaro Ralleye Sport Green, that he had a sample of.
I found one of these trucks around my area for $8000 needing some work, I thought it was a little much but now that I watched this video I know it’s not
that short bed chevy that you looked at is a 65 model. Save it! if they will let you buy it

78 GMC Diesel.

It might be a rare one but your going to be an old man by the time you get that one done !
Part. 1. ????
Thanks guys
Hi miss anna-bella👍👍
Please save the moonshine running car . I'm a shiner ...
pretty sad to see all those cars and trucks going back into the earth.
I can only save the ones I can save my friend. -Rick

sure would be nice if you could swap out a different bed for the original maybe throw in a few extra parts he may need ?
I wish could meet you and see the truck you have . My name is Bobby
Just wondering if you will be helping Jeff sell that hoard. Elderly Iron stuff. Gosh ,I would like to be out there.I am particularly interested in the retrctables.
Wasn't invited and I am actually very happy that Jeff has this opportunity. Not going to rain on his parade. If that makes sense. -Rick
Hello yellow one that suburb next to that GMC is the Bain door
Same answer as to your last coment
vary intresting
Why do people let their cars get like this and then try and sell them this rough. I live in Canada and I see this all the time. Such a shame.
George used the pickup for a hunting and fishing, wood cutting ride

That's good to hear. With it being a rare spec of truck it's possible some of the rare parts may turn up cheap as people don't know what they have...
Why would anyone be so ignorant as to remove all the paint off the cab and then let it set outside.
Is this resent " Mc Fly " footage? Nice clear camera, I like AT&T tablets for better performance. Most pawn shops around here you can pick them up for around $35.00 .

You should have picked up that Corvair wagon Rick, It was one of the rare Lakewood Cooled ones.
Hahahaha
Dangerous vehicle warning, they will get you killed!!!!!!!

We have a 1958 Dodge D-100 SweptSide in rough shape. I personally would like to sell it to a serious restorer.

In the uk "bird" is slang for woman, girl of dating age. So, yes Jamie is a bird.
I agree.
what's happening with the 1955 Seagrave Fire Truck?
Paid for...just need to get it shipped back to the Classic Truck Ranch my Friend. Rick ain't rich.
I've watch several of these CTR videos. Do we ever see a completed restoration? All that I've seen is Classic Truck Transported.

My dad had a 55 gmc flat bed it was great after a fire do to a bunch of idoits blew it up for no reason
Hey Rick, still a very good contact to have which can lead you to other trails, has Jeff hooked you up with any sweet trucks in his new assignment ?
Hey Rick do you think that Corsair station wagon could be worth some bucks? I haven’t seen many of those around. 😉
Yes I do....its one of those things I'm guessing a guy could get....hang onto and store in some dryness....and will be unobtanium in 5-years.
OK,did you're garage building did you video start, and finished. If so where's the video.
Digging your channel. do you have that '36 chevy sedan? looking for parts for mine
The vin tag will tell you
Vin tag on a 1955 GMC will not designate it as a Suburban Carrier. Just as the vin tag on a Chevy Cameo will not designate it as such.....ask the old guys that know....they will agree with me on this....the only way you can be sure is to trace the truck's history.
Anyone have some advice for old trucks I'm planning to buy one but I don't know which to choose
1955-1959 Chevy and GMC trucks are very popular...but I'm kind of biased.
Did you ever go back for the bus where you got that ford station wagon
you should make an offer on a bundle deal rick
Working on it.....see anything you want to pull the trigger on?
Rick please I want that yellow and white square body
rick@classictruckrescue.com......its available.
Does it hurt negotiations rolling up in a Benz? 😎
Classic Truck Rescue seriously?
Only if the seller is totally superficial and thinks I should pay more because of the hood ornament on my 16-year old car.......
How much is the square body Chevy suburban other ones
rick@classictruckrescue.com if you are serious about wanting a truck....I don't really like to discuss truck deals in my comments section...
I know where there is a gmc suburban frame and bed but he wants stupid money for it
can you email me at rick@classictruckrescue.com? Thanks. -Rick
Wats up rick hows the trucks n family did u get your wige sll the chocalte in tje store
