You`re a wealth of information and i appreciate you sharing it. My dream vehicle is a 55 or 56 3100 4x4. I`m getting up in the years and before i depart this world nothing would make me happier than to own one. Thought i had one bought a few years ago. Had the trailer hooked up and was ready to leave when they called and said we just sold it. Talk about disappointment.

As you know, ive been a big fan of CTR since way back in the chicken farm days. I started watching these videos because i myself thru the yrs have rescued about every old truck i could get my hands on. Sorry to say most have been scraped but i still enjoy the hunt and thrill i still get from landing some old car or truck. I think some people try thier damnedest to criticize or condem anyone for anything they dont agree with. So i would just like to say LETS ALL LIVE AND LET LIVE, TRY TO BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER. and HAVING LOVE FOR THE LORD IS A GOOD THING.

I'm going to have to watch this again. Lots of good information!!! Yes I totally enjoyed it!!! I have a 57 1 ton with the 9 foot bed. 6 cyl and 4 speed. I bought it in 1972 and used it to move mobile homes and made lots of money with it. In 77 I took off the 9ft bed and built a welding bed on it and used it to haul my 200 amp Lincoln welding machine and related tools. I love that old truck!!!!

When you presented the correct placements of the side emblems for the 1957 chevy, in which direction they should face, I got nervous. I said to myself let me check the pictures of my truck thats on my phone.
Because right now I am out of town! And sure enough my emblems are on backwards Lol
The shop that installed them did it over 5 years ago! I guess no one is the wiser. I have never been corrected until today Lol. Thankyou for the lesson. I'm not going to correct it, but if someone does correct me, I will admit fault, then thank him/ her, then tell them, I did it on purpose, because I like the look! Lol!! ; ) Nice channel!! and " Good Day To You Sir"

(Only joking but you get where I'm going) I love hearing about everything that's happening at the ctr from Lou (especially Lou) to the shop build the trucks/cars and your bike, not enough there in my opinion but I'm a biker. Very interesting! Thanks all the effort, knowledge and experience you share with us and for making and uploading this side-by-side comparison of the ‘55 to ‘59 Chevy trucks. From your comments at the beginning of the video, I assume you’ve received quite a lot of nasty comments. I for one appreciate your calm and benign bearing and your kind words regarding animals. I hope you get as much joy out 0f making your videos, as I and surely many other get from watching them. Keep ‘em coming. By the way, I’m watching and subscribed from Germany.

Rick, just one other difference to note for the 1957 Chevrolet trucks was the front fenders. The front grille, being one-year only, used different mounting holes in the front fenders for the grille. I don't know where the different mounting holes were located, but every time I've seen it noted, the 1957 grille won't fit the 1955-1956 front fenders. As to bed lengths, the short bed was 72", the next bigger bed was 89". The long bed was 97" and you could carry full sheets of plywood with the tailgate closed. Of course, the big daddy was the Longhorn 9' bed. I've got a 1957 3200 without the spare tire option, small window cab, that I built into my own modernized version of the Napco, using a 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 4wd chassis. Of course, the fender emblems throw folks off too, since they came from a 1959 Apache 3100, but they came with the truck, and I honestly like the look. Thanks for all the info Rick. I learned a few new things too.

I know they're not the most desired years but the 58 and 59 just look like they mean business, love em

They have actually become very popular. I didn't care much for the 4-headlight trucks when I was Younger, but I really like them now.

A VERY informative video. Now I know the differences between, say, a 55 and a 56 just by the fender emblems. By The Way, NAPCO was located in Indianapolis, IN where I live. Keep up the great videos, Rick.

Another tidbit about 55-57s: in addition to the location difference (above/below the fender line) between the 55 and 56 front fender emblems is the background color behind the 'Chevrolet' name. In 55 the background was white, vs black for 56. Also the 57 front fender is one-year-only as there is unique flat spot and hole at the front where the grill mounts to the fenders so it can accept the 57-only grille.

I have agree with you on those two points Tom. These are the kind of things I was hoping people would mention in the comments. I had a LOT of ground to cover in this video, but I appreciate accurate, additional input such as this. Thank you, -Rick

The dog was mistaken for a BigFoot until I put

of influence on the mind. Greetings from AZ.

Maybe you should take a closer look at "Big-Bob". Bobby Hernandez is willing to sell it and he's not greedy.
