@@thehamburgler3570 true I remember I think it was 2011 or 2012 when the Blackhawks had their Winter Classic and it was snowing so badly that the puck couldnt even slide anymore and the goalie couldnt see the puck anymore and the players were pasding it to the wrong places because in the snow they couldnt tell teammates from opponents

Every great Christmas season needs some snow games and since they are uaually a couple or a few only. They should then by default always get local tv program priority over the local team!

Football doesn't get cancelled when there is a thunderstorm. If there are nearby lightning strikes, there is an automatic 30 minute delay. That clock is reset every time there is another nearby lightning strike.
Last year, I had 4 consecutive weeks of lightning delays at college games which I was working. The longest was at MTSU, and lasted nearly 2 hours.

Watched that game in the comfort of my home; thankfully, the stadium's a block from the Broad Street subway, although I'm sure the walk there was fun!
I'm really glad the refs realized in this game that being in the snow, rules like being ineligible if you going out of bound (barely because of all the snow) and some sideline late hits were unavoidable in these conditions and they just let them play for the most part.
I also think that they let them play because they couldnt see shit either. Everyone was snowblind

As a teenager, everytime we got a snow day from school it was understood by all the kids of the neighborhood that we meet at our "home field" (the kid with the big corner lot yard) and play football. Some of the funnest yardball games we had. Playing hard 4 in the snow was really hard though! Many sprained ankles, and minor injuries, but we still all loved it as kids.

There is a reason why... In the beginning of the game, the snow was fresh and it was blizzard conditions. So the snow was still light and really slippery. as the game went on, the snow stopped, and the snow on the field condensed and made it easier to run on.

I live in Texas so we dont get much here. Although when I was younger playing little league football our coach would let us practice in the mud when it rained really hard. Flurries are when small amounts of snow are falling to basically no measurable amount. Flurries are the complete opposite of a snowstorm. A snow squall is what you described.

@@edwardgaines6561 well, the oxygenation of blood should happen more easily in theory. Opposite to this, it is hard to get needed oxygen from the air to your body's cells on Everest due to the much lower air pressure. The air is literally thin up on the mountain top.
I say in theory, because the actual human lung in a snowstorm will have to deal with a high moisture content in the air, plus if it's very cold and dry it can be hard on the lungs they might clam up but it didnt seem like it was brutally cold so yes it was probably more better to breathe when its denser even if it's cold (unless it's like -25 or lower then it just stings ) from my experience

I remember watching this game and Shady McCoy taking the game over. There’s nothing better than an NFL game where the weather and elements play a huge part and to watch how game plan goes out the window when they have to adapt to the elements.

The game looked timeless. Like it could've been 1936 in the polo grounds. It was like art. And the enthusiasm of the players, and plays , despite the conditions. I love this game. Could've been Carthage in 146 BCE ... just a timeless game of battle, camaraderie and spirit.

Slippery Seal I agree, but me personally, when I played high school football, I despised the heat so much. Maybe it’s because I live in an area where it snows during the winter, but feels like Florida in the summer with high humidity and temperatures ranging from the 80s to the low 100s. I know it’s not as bad as Florida, but it’s similar humidity wise. Much more comfortable being in dry 100 degree heat, like California or Arizona.

Weather doesn’t change much from day to day. They can simply predict tomorrow will be more of the same and they’ll be right most of the time. Big anomalies coming will be easy to spot, so they can predict those.
I went to this game when I was like 10. I didn’t understand football as well as I do now, but at one point my dad wanted to leave. He always tells the story of him asking me to leave, and I said no. I made him stay the entire game and I am so glad I did. There is really nothing like it.

@@JonCollinsMedia I think almost every other team would have found a way to build around him. Look at Larry Fitzgerald. The cardinals tried to get him a ring and almost won a Super Bowl. They have been terrible for years, but they tried when the had him.
He still broke records, any other records he would have wanted to break wouldn’t have been possible at the age he retired at. He had an elite QB and got the best he could of gotten in terms of personal stats.. Super Bowl wins on the other hand, that’s another story.
i remember watching this game. it was one of the most fun football games i ever watched on tv. Shady ran wild, and the game wasnt really as close as the score. if the Birds special teams had showed up, it would have been a major blowout
