'New Cannon' lol Dude, By Jedi, the Rebel Alliance was as big as the CIS and had a BIGGER (though not as well equipped) fleet than the Empire. Once Sidious bought it, what was left of Imperial High Command descended into infighting while worlds that had previously remained under Imperial control (including Coruscant itself) rose up in open revolt. A year on and The Empire was basically just Jakku and a few scattered bases in the Outer Rim.
robertofulton in the Star Wars universe there's sound in space, ships that have absolutely no aerodynamics but can still fly in atmosphere, swords made out of lasers and you're complaining about the new canon because it's unrealistic that the Galactic Empire fell in a year?
TOBLERONE TUBE yep. The laser swords and sound in space I don’t really care too much about. Sound in space is unrealistic but it’s also pretty common in sci-fi. As for laser swords, it is what it is. But the point is the empire was a huge threat that got emasculated in a year. In the legends series it took twenty five years to bring it to its knees, and it fought back on a couple of occasions. It’s just felt too easy and simple, a vast fanatically loyal fleet fell apart in a year. Just doesn’t make much sense to me.
I can take The Last Jedi as canon as big as a punch to the gut as it is. But I however, do NOT, I do NOT, except that the Alliance’s greatest admiral died offscreen from a random TIE fighter that I’m pretty sure get’s blown up while retreating.
Played through this and it was amazing as well as the DLC. I feel like bringing the Battle of Jakku to screen would somehow save the prequels just a bit. Imagine a Starhawk in action.
This is how you know all these UA-camrs are playing this campaign on easy. When you play on medium or hard all the Stormtroopers immediately rush you and flood you.
I see a lot of hate in the comments. Me, I'm just glad we get to finally see part of the battle that sealed the empire's fate. Hopefully we'll be able to actually see more of this fight instead of having to read it from the books
It would be nice if the battle seen here even correlated to the books besides that one Starhawk, or if they spent a couple dollars and threw in a couple other models. The Empire literally only has ISDs not even the Arquintens made it in here :(
Battlefront 2015 jakku: sky is literally covered in ships with capital ships constantly crashing while a planet wide ground battle erupts. Entire planet is basically the battlefield. Battlefront 2017 jakku: handful of ships fight in area of the sky
BF2 was much more detailed. If you actually paid attention and looked beyond your Doritos, you’d see hundreds of dogfights throughout the skybox. BF1 was literally just a bunch of birds with red and green glowsticks. Not to mention here we even had cruisers and capital ships pass by us as we were flying, and had awesome cinematics and dialogue/easter eggs. Constant criticism from Star Wars “fans” like you is why we don’t get any nice things.
@@bruh-fw7op I heard so many cool things just flying around! I heard some people mention Wedge and Snap... so was a 7-year old flying a starfighter in the Battle of Jakku?
@@christianmilam3295 Are you referring to the 7 year old as Snap? Because Wedge is well within his adult years at this point. He was in his late teens/early 20s in Rebels, this takes place many years after that.
TheBigExclusive Some were taken by They're Captains and Admirals to be pirate ships, some were surrenders to the NR, some were just abandoned, many were destroyed, the other few thousands we have no idea. Which is why it doesnt make sense that the Empire collapsed in only a year
This is also late in the Battle, after (Spoilers for the last book of the Aftermath Trilogy, Empire's End) the Ravager was taken down, and the Imperial space defense fell apart. Not to mention, this is only one small part of a giant battle that spans the entire planet, and the airspace around it.
Brandon Huggins the walkers we see in rouge one and the walkers we see here are two completely different things. The AT-CTs which we see in rouge one have far less armour than the standard AT-AT which we see here mainly because the AT-CT were used more for cargo transportation while the AT-AT is meant for combat
This level should've been a 2 part level. The first part being an intense space battle where you're engaging enemy star fighters and escorting bombers like the naboo level. Then part 2 would be fighting on the ground through ship wreckage and chaotic remains and survivors
"Whole Imperial fleet," riiiight. One of many things I'm looking forward to with the upcoming New Republic-era shows is seeing a Star Destroyer show up and the subsequent look on the faces of any NR personnel nearby. Bonus points if it has a chimera painted on the underside...
Turbolaser cannons need fuel to fire. Fuel...isn’t an infinite resource. They need to strategise their shots so that they use as little fuel as possible while inflicting the most damage as possible.
@@jemert96 Graphics? Fuck outta here this game has literally the best graphics of this generation. Cinematics were amazing and so was gameplay. Don’t be such a buzzkill and appreciate things.

"Imperial walkers are closing on our position!" "Ok, let us get out of our X-Wings and fight them with blaster pistols!" Shriv: "Can I submit my resignation letter now?"
No, large amounts of them were destroyed in the year between Endor and Jakku through infighting, by the new republic and though being funnelled away to the unknown regions since the empire was being intentionally destroyed which was what palpatine wanted were he to die
If you want a better sense of how big the battle of jakku was, just play the multiplayer map in 2015 battlefront for the ground and just look in the sky to get the true scale of the space battle
A x-wing can't destroy a AT-AT. The airspeeder had cannons triple the size of the x-wing and couldn't penetrate the AT-AT armor. One is a space superiority fighter and the other a ground attack aircraft. Like a F-15 vs a A-10. If the speeder can't do it then the x-wing can't either.
turkey2003 AT-ATs have a weak spot at their neck. In Star Wars Rebels, the clones fire a ion blast at an AT-ATs neck with an AT-TE front cannon. This destroyed the walker completely. Also, ion shots are less powerful than regular shots like on X-Wings. None the less, a proton torpedo at the neck of that walker would take it down almost immediately.
@@EmperorPalpatine0108 In rebels they use a mass driver cannon to destroy the AT-AT. The mass driver is made to destroy armor and ray shields while the ion cannon is to disable electronics. Also it is shot by a Jedi using the force, the clones cannot reproduce this shot later. Similar to Luke in the death star, which shows us that x-wings targeting systems can't hit small areas. So the x-wing can't make the shot either. Also in rebels we see the ghost fire 4 proton torpedos at a AT-AT and fail to destroy it.

0:10, R.I.P admiral ackbar
You heard of elf on the shelf now get ready for ackbar on a snack bar
I can take The Last Jedi as canon as big as a punch to the gut as it is. But I however, do NOT, I do NOT, except that the Alliance’s greatest admiral died offscreen from a random TIE fighter that I’m pretty sure get’s blown up while retreating.
@@superbattleship3873 He should take Holdo place and make ITS TRAP for First Order there.

0:01 as if changing the engine color made the ship good
Well that... ended abruptly
Yeah a weird way to start leading into the dlc
Tobito The main campaign wasn't even over yet.
A movie of this battle would be epic!
Played through this and it was amazing as well as the DLC. I feel like bringing the Battle of Jakku to screen would somehow save the prequels just a bit. Imagine a Starhawk in action.
You mean the sequels
3:22 That's an interesting progress of an old Star Wars tradition.
This is how you know all these UA-camrs are playing this campaign on easy. When you play on medium or hard all the Stormtroopers immediately rush you and flood you.
I would so love for a Star Wars movie just about the Battle of Jakku honestly.
yeah one that would take place before the force awakens the star destroyer that rey was scavenging at the beginning.
@@willhuey4462 yeah, the Battle of Jakku happened in 5 ABY, which was 1 year after ROTJ.
A better fight than all the recent sequels.
I miss the skybox literally being a swarm of X wings and Ties
I see a lot of hate in the comments. Me, I'm just glad we get to finally see part of the battle that sealed the empire's fate. Hopefully we'll be able to actually see more of this fight instead of having to read it from the books
lucas lucas - the battle doesn't even make sense
It would be nice if the battle seen here even correlated to the books besides that one Starhawk, or if they spent a couple dollars and threw in a couple other models. The Empire literally only has ISDs not even the Arquintens made it in here :(
I'd say the reason for that is probably because we haven't gotten the entire story yet, but idk
lucas lucas I think they're pretty much done telling the story about Jakku, I doubt we'll see anything else.
tubegut66 I don't think it's supposed to
Battlefront 2015 jakku: sky is literally covered in ships with capital ships constantly crashing while a planet wide ground battle erupts.
@@bruh-fw7op Yeah
0:50 Oh look, Star Wars: Rebels' favorite alternative to swearing made it into a game.
Sarah Tilgner That’s just a word Star Wars uses, idiot. Rouge one, this game, rebels, etc.
I actually liked that, idk if it's a reference to rebels but
*Two x wings park outside the hangar which tie bombers are constantly taking off and landing from* "They don't know we're here"
R.i.p. Gonk droid ;-;
Good ol Graveyard of Giants! BF II needed that version of Jakku from the first game in its playlists
Wait...doesn't the Empire have like 30,000 Star Destroyers? Why is there only a handful here? Where are the rest?
TheBigExclusive Some were taken by They're Captains and Admirals to be pirate ships, some were surrenders to the NR, some were just abandoned, many were destroyed, the other few thousands we have no idea. Which is why it doesnt make sense that the Empire collapsed in only a year
This is also late in the Battle, after (Spoilers for the last book of the Aftermath Trilogy, Empire's End) the Ravager was taken down, and the Imperial space defense fell apart. Not to mention, this is only one small part of a giant battle that spans the entire planet, and the airspace around it.
a lot of them is in space
this feels more star wars than the sequels.
I disagree.
Behold...”THE IMPERIAL FLEET” ...
It's nice that they acknowledge the new republic now like they did in the force awakens
Was that the Gonk Droid from the jakku map online?
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE hearing the alarm with the music!!!!!!
So the part with the AT-AT walkers, they can be killed with the X-Wing. Like sure land in front of those and take them on foot.
Can't use an orbital strike while flying
1:51 that poor gonk droid screaming for help the only way it knows how
I thought we would see more imperial Perspective but I was wrong
While it was short, I did absolutely love the first few missions, especially on Fondor and the MC80. You really felt like Special Forces.
This level should've been a 2 part level. The first part being an intense space battle where you're engaging enemy star fighters and escorting bombers like the naboo level. Then part 2 would be fighting on the ground through ship wreckage and chaotic remains and survivors
Gonk
is it just me Or That The Lightspeed Jump Is a Kickass
3:10 my question is Where does that ladder come from ??? same thing in empirestrikesback it just appears
That, my friend... Is the power of the force
"Whole Imperial fleet," riiiight. One of many things I'm looking forward to with the upcoming New Republic-era shows is seeing a Star Destroyer show up and the subsequent look on the faces of any NR personnel nearby. Bonus points if it has a chimera painted on the underside...
i wish the last jedi is like this. it woudve get a good rate
Remember this is the perspective of inferno squad during the battle of Jakku, there’s also the aftermath trilogy and lost star novel/manga
How the hell do the Mon cal and ISD IIs fire only a couple of Turbolaser shots every second
Turbolaser cannons need fuel to fire. Fuel...isn’t an infinite resource. They need to strategise their shots so that they use as little fuel as possible while inflicting the most damage as possible.
0:31 0:34 - Who *didn't* love that hyperspace scene?
this looks horrible. how were the originals on xbox so much better?
BURNING CHROME What i liked about the singleplayer of the originals was that it made you feel like an ordinary solider
Yeah it has the same graphics as a fucking Harry Potter game
Being made in 2005 will do that for a game, holds up pretty well though.
@@jemert96 Graphics? Fuck outta here this game has literally the best graphics of this generation. Cinematics were amazing and so was gameplay. Don’t be such a buzzkill and appreciate things.

2:28 the Eviscerator is just drop dead gorgeous 🥺🥰
The WHOLE Imperial fleet is there? Considering the Empire had thousands of Imperial Class Star Destroyers spread through the galaxy, that's a bold statement.
Palpating had a plan to destroy most of the empire in the case of his death
Oh man, to have this as a set piece for Star Wars: Squadrons
"That's beautiful! Is this what happiness feels like"?
At the moment of impact, nothing should've been left: the blast covered a whole mountain range. A real hunk of geography.
"Imperial walkers are closing on our position!"
"Ok, let us get out of our X-Wings and fight them with blaster pistols!"
Shriv: "Can I submit my resignation letter now?"
i mainlyn play war thunder, and after watching this, every time they go strait up i expect a stall message
1:18 i can totally relate to this guy :(
The imperial fleet has 25,000 Star Destroyers right? So all 25,000 were at Jakku??
No, large amounts of them were destroyed in the year between Endor and Jakku through infighting, by the new republic and though being funnelled away to the unknown regions since the empire was being intentionally destroyed which was what palpatine wanted were he to die
I wish they made another star wars film like rogue one, where it shows how the galactic civil war ended and shows this battle
There needs to be a movie set between episode 6 & 7 that could be about the battle of jakku, I think that would be super cool
If you want a better sense of how big the battle of jakku was, just play the multiplayer map in 2015 battlefront for the ground and just look in the sky to get the true scale of the space battle
The saddest death was that falling gonk droid.
Also in rebels we see the ghost fire 4 proton torpedos at a AT-AT and fail to destroy it.
nice of the Empire to send someone out to put those ladders on their X-Wings. be difficult to do it from the cockpit 🐷
Why on earth didn't they have this as a starfighter assault map 10.30 its incredible.
Sorry but who the fuck leaves their ship to fight an imperial walker on foot
