    The Silver Jubilee Series was created in 1987 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the founding of Marshall Amplification and the 50th year of Jim Marshall being in the music business, hence the Silver Jubilee's original '25/50" designation. The limited edition all-valve Silver Jubilee amplifiers looked stunning in silver vinyl covering with chrome-plated control panel.
    Based on JCM800 2203 and 2204 Master Volume models, the Jubilee amplifiers were the first Marshall products with Pentode/Triode switching, which halves power output.The Jubilee Series featured an innovative, if somewhat unusual, preamp circuit which had three gain 'modes': 'Clean', Rhythm Clip, and footswitchable Lead Channel.
    The Bass, Middle, Treble & Presence controls, although shared between channels, were re-designed and offered more tonal variation than any other Marshall product had before.The 100 Watt 2555 Jubilee head caused a sensation when it was launched in January 1987 and, because it was produced only during the anniversary year, it has since become a collector's piece. But perhaps the real reason the 2555 acquired legendary status is because of the playing public, who took it to their hearts.

    I have an original Marshall Jubilee 2550 half stack. Bought it new from King Music Center, Albuquerque NM. in 1987. Still sounds great 👍🏼.

    It's my fav amp and i really wish one day i'll get one like this, 2555X !
    Saddly it's expensive so i hope for a miracle :')
    Once i'll start playing shows i'll run one of these and a Blackheart to get a more classic tone for some of my songs !
    Great video like always and you played some killer tones there !

    The new amp has quite a few improvements, new tech including bias points accessible without removing the chassis. A few other differences but the EQ works in the same way as the original and different than any other Marshall. It is a thing to behold. Have had many Marshall amps and still have a 410H. The Jubilee would stay if had to sell one.

    They rereleased it way before 2015, in 1996 they released the limited edition Slash model, it was a Silver Jubilee, he needed them to because he was struggling to find used ones as they wore out/got stolen .

    soo i have had one of these (2555x) for a couple of years now and mine doesn't seem to have anywhere as much gain as this video anyone have any idea what could be causing this? i.e low bias in need of a retube (power or preamp) etc

    • @ChrisHariis
      @ChrisHariis 2 місяці тому

      dime the output 1 Master and use the Lead master as your volume. Hit it with and SD1 or a Tube screamer. It has the best effects loop ever so put a delay in the loop and hang on! It is a tone monster

    they used to play "simple" stuff like Whole Lotta Love and Smoke On The Water because these riffs make all frequencies shine through a big cabinet on full volume... next generations simply did not understand this.... late 60s, early 70s hard rock was all about the sound, rather than harmony..... 80s and 90s music is just a bad copy... you had to experience the real thing live, there's still no way to record this... strat or les paul through a loud marshall stack,,,...., but these days its PRS straight into a laptop.... :-)
