Have them all. Master needs to be set at 7 minimum to hear the Marshall roar guys… then it is a game changer, sort of completely different amp meaning more bass, more gain and saturation.The sound becomes a Marshall sound that way!
Can't resist the classic roar of the 800, that's just THE Marshall tone of the 80s for me 🤟 Beautiful cleans as well! 900 second IMO. The Jubilee albeit a great and versatile amp is not exactly my cup of tea among these three. Thanks for the settings used and killer tones and chops as usual 👍
to me, they all sound almost equal. Though for clean, I lean more towards the 900, and dirt tones either jcm 800 or 900. (when they working properly). I believe that's the jcm 900 with el34s. mine came with 5881 tubes, but I modded it to take the el34s, though tbh I didn't really notice a difference. there was probably a slight difference, but because I didn't record it before and after, I didn't have some ab test to do. I thought I would have been able to tell. Did change it back when the el34s went a few years later.
Gotta give you guys praise. You still make some of the best amps out there. I've had my JCM2000 for 12 years now, and it's been a beast. DSL50 from the mid 2000s, I think.

I have used 800's and DSL Marshalls for years and they have always been the best imho and after using many different rigs I always come back to Marshall, period. I had the amazing pleasure of meeting Jim around 1987 when he was promoting the jubilee series amplifiers and it was amazing to talk with him and he was a sweet man as well.
You can really hear the top end shine in the 800 and the extra low end and smoother sustain in the jubilee!! The 900 has a big mid push (at least at these settings). Great video! I know other videos exist for these on this channel, but maybe a comparison of all three of the 20 watt/5 watt heads for the 800, Jubilee, and Plexi "against" their 100 watt counterpart might be fun :)
JCM 800: Rauncy & Juicy with good articulation Jubilee: More Raw, Raunchy & Juicy with smoother tones JCM 900: Raunchy, More Smooth & Darker. All had that iconic Marshall growl, just different in the Eq 🤘🏻
Bass right up and treble and presence right down on every every amp. It's like you realised they were all way too bright, but it does also explain why all your cabs sound like mud 😆 The comparison is pretty meaningless when they all have different settings.
I'm lucky enough to have the SV20 and Jubilee, the SV is an awesome vintage voiced amp but I find the Jube is a way more versatile rock beast. Absolutely love this studio series.
I have the 800 2204 & 2205, as well as the 900 4500 & 2500 SL-X.....love them all! I like the 900 SL-X the best of those four, but I also have a '79 JMP 2204 that is my favorite.
The attack and clear/punchy overdrive in the 800 is pure magic! All 3 are surely great if adjusted to preferred taste 🤟🏼 I have a TSL100 and the versatility in it is just awesome, off course with the magic sound of Marshall 👊🏼😁
30th Anniversary was the best amp you ever made. The red channel us a bit thin (SL-X was better). It had the best clean you've ever made. But, the Amber channel is what made this amp one that I'd never sell. Give me a Marshall with 2 of these Amber channels and I'd be set for life.
I have a 6L6 loaded 900 Dual Reverb 50w, I don't shred I play simple pop and skate punk so 3 chords, raking, and a lot of palm muting and it works really well for that and then I throw a Wampler Triumph or Mosky Silver Horse on top and it kicks it up a notch more 👍. I also play a Tele and an SG and the settings don't really have to be moved around
I had one of those Silver jubilee 50 watt heads and the matching 4x12. I was just a teenager and regrettable didn’t understand the greatness and rarity of them. I got rid of it and regretted it years later. Anyways. Great amps

I have 2 of the JCM800’s. That I use for my Les Paul’s. 1 from 1984 & the reissue with effects loop. My go to rig. Also a Peavey 6505+ that I use strictly for my Jackson’s.
I only have an ‘83 JCM800 4010. I was surprised how warm the low gain channel is running 6550’s. Amazing amp. The high channel ain’t to shabby either. I can always goose the front end. I know about the EL-34 sound…have played plenty. Still like the different flavor the 6550’s have in this particular amp is pretty cool. I like running a couple amps sometimes…my Orange plays into the mix easily. My all time favorite Marshall tones are the 1987 and 1959 4 prongers. There’s just something about those amps. I sure miss my ‘69 JMP50 Plexi. Sadly, I don’t have it anymore.

I've had seven different Marshalls I love them all I currently have a 78 JMP 100 w and a 89 2210 100 w my tone is perfect I've been told that for years the only amp I miss I was a poor musician I had a 82 white Marshal 100 watt jcm 800 the serial number was all zeros and then a four I had to pawn it cuz I was starving I still miss that amp I will play Nothing Else but a marshall great amp

Like the JCM 800 the best. But in the segment for clean tone the graphic has preamp on 10. Pretty sure it isn’t on 10 especially with MV higher than the dirty segment. 😅
The Jubilee has that extra sizzle on the top end that gets me every time. I used to use one live but the band i’m in now runs direct. Fortunately managed a pretty good approximation on my Headrush pedal board, but i still miss the real deal

What guitar 🎸 do you play in here dude? It sounds sick with all three amos - I love the sound all of them. The key though are the speakers - after playing myself many different cabs with 2555X, 2466, 2000 I understood that for Marshall to sound like a Marshall you need Celstions G12T-75 Speakers.
Surprised at how close the 900 gets to the 800 here. Don't care for the darkness of the Jubilee at all, if I want something dark, I'll just EQ high mids.
I think the 800 was just perfect. Not sure what people are on about needing more gain? Maybe people don't like clarity? The Jube had the least clarity. The 800 would stand out in a mix better than the Jube and 900. Guess I am not a fan of clipping diodes either. No pedals and straight into an 800 works for me.
Jens Kruse has a killer Jube mod. I have one of those and a Friedman "kitchen sinked" 2203 and while the 2203 is "better," it's more "different" than better for most applications. We run them stereo for double tracked rhythm guitars and it's about perfect.
I had about three JCM 2000 dsl over the years. Got rid of all them. Now I know why it isn’t ever featured in any of these real classic Marshall videos. Just doesn’t make the cut, however there’s are some die hards that swear the 2000 dsl deserves more appreciation.

4100 JCM 900 on this one. I was surprised how good it sounded.
It gets hate for no reason, People can’t get passed the fact that it has a clipping diode. They hate with their eyes not their ears

The 900 is the least mid heavy and also the darkest of them all.. I sold my 900 as it was more modern sounding- bottom heavy for my taste

The guitar is connected to the low sensitivity channel, is has a dramatic volume drop vs high sensitivity. So it’s not surprise it is dimed.

I had about three JCM 2000 dsl over the years. Got rid of all them. Now I know why it isn’t ever featured in any of these real classic Marshall videos. Just doesn’t make the cut, however there’s are some die hards that swear the 2000 dsl deserves more appreciation.

The Silver Jubilee was quite good. The Jcm900 not so much.

all they sound GREAT!!! Maybe the jcm800 lead is more "dirty", "wild" than the other two.
900 every time!!! you can make a 900 sound like a 800 and a jubilee. You cant make either one sound like a 900👍👍👍
