I lived in Gadsen,AL from 1979 to about 1980/81. I visited Noccalulu Falls many times then. It truly is a magnificent and beautiful place to visit and experience. The views are just spectacular. The camera doesn't do this place justice. One of my favorite childhood memories. I'm 51 years old now, living in my home state of Wisconsin, and I STILL remember the beautiful scenery, the falls, and the statue. She wasn't green from the bronze getting oxidized from the elements then.
This video does it no Justice. It’s hard to capture just how massive it is and the cave overhang. It is HUGE yall! Great video! We’re making it a family tradition to go there and get milkshakes at jacks afterwards 😂
My five year old son and I just watched (and enjoyed) your video about one of our favorite places. Three things I wanted to let you know: 1. Next time you come, go through the grist mill to the deck out back. You missed the scenic overlook. 😊 2. Had you ridden the train you'd have gotten the full history of the buildings, plus you'd have seen some you missed on the other side of the park, like the one Jesse James stayed in 😏 3. You HAVE to visit at Christmas. It is stunning, and the climate is pretty mild in December. 🌲 Thanks for the video!!
@@iLoveRVlife In the recent past we have had some daredevils to come to the falls to kayak an jump of the falls they made alot great footage .Check out Nick Coulter "Cliff jumping the south " part one on UA-cam
I went to elementary school across the street from Noccalula Falls at R.A. Mitchell. None of those cabins or train were there when I was growing up. They were relocated there a few years ago. The covered bridge is “new” too. Played on those rocks down by the creek below the falls when I was a kid. I just turned 68. The falls are about 50-60 feet tall if my memory is correct. The name of the town is spelled Gadsden. There is a typo on your title.
I'm 76 now and remember that school. LOL I lived down the hiil from you on what was Alabama Avenue. Now its an extention of Meighan Blvd. I remember camping, hunting fishing cooking, and just playing all up and down Black creek, above and below the Falls. What a playground. Left there after high school in 1965, but took my children and many of my grandchildren back there to see it. It sure has changed. We live in Oklahoma . Thanks for your post Frank.
Loved the video. We haven’t camped in Alabama but this is going on our list. Wife and I love going to waterfalls. Not sure which of the two campgrounds we’ll stay in though. This will be a long weekend trip. Seems to be about 5 hours away. Thanks for the tour!
Thanks so much Captain. Nice area. Fun place to chill. The Falls has a campground if you want that “state park” feel. We really enjoyed River Country ua-cam.com/video/bNchKCuufXA/v-deo.html. Easy in and out, very level and the river views were some kinda pretty. Also, if you go in the warmer months, that have 3 big pools next to the river.
We live in Guntersville, about 30-40 minutes from there....the last time we were there was about 20 years ago.....after looking at this video, I have to go back...nice job. 👍🙌
There’s a campground next to the Park that’s nice. We stayed closer to town at River Country Campground. Here’s a video ua-cam.com/video/bNchKCuufXA/v-deo.html
So thankful I found your page! We’re from Birmingham AL, and just got a pop up camper. You have visited almost all the campgrounds we are interested in visiting soon! Hoping to see Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park and Gulf State Park videos from you in the future. I am subscribed and notification bell is on! ❤️
Wow Jerry that was an amazing video! Your patience and upbeat attitude always makes your videos fun to watch, whether you are hiking a beautiful long trail or you’re just doing toilet paper comparison tests in your RV😄. Thank you so much. Looking forward to visiting the southeast in early 2020. By the way, you inspired me to do a cat door into my storage in my fifth wheel, and my kitty absolutely loves it!
Hi Kali. Thank you so much for the very kind comment. We so enjoy joy sharing our RV travels and tips. The “kitty on-suite” has made a big difference in our travels. Easier clean up, less littler tracking, plus I thing Mink and Molly like their privacy 😏. Great to hear your kitty is enjoying her spot. As we say in the south, y’all come on down. Lots to see and do, great culture, and Joan and I hope our paths cross in our travels.
We went here recently and it was great! The trail took us 2 hours to get through but was totally worth it, we were able to get so close to the waterfall, Maybe around 30 - 50 feet away! Took a few pictures of it and left to go see the animals. Overall this place is amazing, especially the trails.
Sorry about that. There is this HAAWK group that is giving me a bit of a go. They can play their games to take our earnings. Won’t work. We’ll just change to new music we purchased and keep on creating videos.
Love your videos. This one really impressed me at how stable the video was when you were walking to and back from the falls. May I ask you which camera you used for it, and if you use a gimble or not? Thank you again for all your videos.
Thanks Bob. I use a Hero 7 Black for the walking shots with a mini gorilla pod. The Hero 7 Black has nice built in stabilization. Also use a Canon T6i for longer shots and places where I stand and pan. I try to maintain a low profile when I record. Makes it easier to walk around and folks stay comfortable around the guy with the camera.

The falls are a treasure. Agree, impossible to capture the views. Spring is around the corner. It’s going to be some kinda pretty.
Wanted to say thanks. We did Noccalula falls after rainbow plantation. Had a great trip.
How fun. Good to hear you all had a great trip.

Thanks. Agree, it’s bigger than any wide screen can reproduce. Have fun exploring and enjoy those yummy milkshakes.
They now stock rainbow trout at noccolulla falls for fly fishing
How fun
My hometown. Love the falls.
Hi Steve. We enjoyed your home town. Pretty sites and everyone was so friendly.
We live in Gadsden and camp here often. You should come at Christmas to see all of the lights and decorations
We’ll have to visit then. We’ve heard the town really lights up.
It looks like a Hallmark movie set during Christmas season
Thank you so much for your beautiful video ! Looking forward to visiting tomorrow!
Glad to share. Have fun.

I really enjoyed this video, thank you very much for taking us on this hike...
Glad we could share Kristinia.

Great place. Would’ve been a treat to see the others cabins.

What great memories Frank. Yep, let that typo slip by. Thanks, I’ll fix it.
It’s 90 feet tall.
Is their a cave at that waterfall?

You go to some cool places very beautiful!
Thanks Susan. Sometimes it’s a little planning and some good luck 😏
Nice place Jerry! Is there an RV park there?

I use to live not to far from there in Jacksonville Alabama been there plenty of times
I can see why. Great place to spend the day.
I used to visit this place as a kid during summer vacation to see the folks in Alabama. Brought back many great memories!👍
Thanks Grady. This is a special place.

That it is. Would love to go back in the fall for the leaves.
I believe thats the other end were the Confederate soldiers came out when they went into lookout mnt cave.legend has it
Interesting. From some information at the Park, one of the past owners blasted to make the cave deeper. Not sure how big it was prior.
There is no silly legends about caves just mine shafts from 1900's mining industry that was used for the Steal plant
I thought I was having some serious Deja Vu until I read the description. LOL

Late Spring John.
Looks nicer then Tannehill

I've been there back in the early 90's , it it a very beautiful place, they hold pow wows there, check it out when they do, cheers and God bless you
Thanks Brian. One of those rare finds in our travels. Pretty place.
lol i live like five miles away
Great place.
I hope you and Joan get to ride the train
We didn’t. Buy the time I finished the hike, they stopped running for the day. Something to forward to when we return.
Went see the falls a few years ago. I didn’t know they had all the other stuff . 🤷🏻♂️
Time to go back Ricky. Neat place and the town folks were so friendly. We really liked Gadsden.
Is that a cave
It is. I could walk behind the falls for the shoot. Maybe 100 feet or so.
Is that close to rock city or lookout mountain?
About an hour and a half south of Lookout Mt. down I-59 in Gadsden, AL.
“couple hundred feel tall” - it’s not even 100 feet tall lol
Ok... I'll admit. I'm distance challenged ;)
90 feet tall
