    What a great video! We are renovating a 20-foot, vintage 1976 camper that my husband's grandmother owned, and we can't wait to begin visiting some state parks. So glad I found your review of Lake Hartwell with all the info you provided. I'll definitely be checking out your other reviews! Thank you so much!!!

    I realize this is over a year old but I still like to welcome you and Joan to South Carolina and to our State Parks. I live within 45 minute drive to this park. I have an uncle who lives within 2 miles of this park. I took my grandchildren here while they were growing up. I stayed at site 62 just so that they could walk to the water to bank fish. 2 granddaughters and a grandson always loved coming here with me. Im a Air Force retiree, and as a aircrew member I was gone from a lot . I missed a lit of my 2 children's growing up and my wife passed away and took a lot of those memories with her. But now I have the chance of a life time to watch and grow with my grandchildren . And what better way at the lake camping.
    I was a lot of your videos , ive had health issues and now trying to catch up on my subscriptions. And what a pleasant surprise to see you there(here). Im so glad you enjoyed your stay. Until next time, stay safe and hopefully uf I know youre there and you don't mind I'd love to come say hello the next time you're here.

      Thanks a so much Dr. Don. We've had great stays in SC with Lake Hartwell and returned this year to Tugaloo just across the state line. Also had great stays at Huntington Beach (now one of our top beach stops) and the municipal park at James Island. Love on those grandkids a bunch! Jerry...

    Another excellent review! We've stayed at Lake Hartwell SP several times, as we live just up the road in Walhalla, SC which is about 20 miles. It appears they have repaved/repaired some of the roads and perhaps trimmed a few trees. Glad to see that, we'll have to drive down and check it out soon. We are camping next weekend at Springfield COE which is also not far off I-85 in SC.

    Welcome back to SC Jerry. I live less that 20 miles from LHSP, but we've yet to stay there. There are so many campgrounds on Hartwell it will take us a while to stay at all of them. Our favorite on Hartwell is Twin Lakes in Pendleton.

    We have been to LHSP a couple times. We had GREAT interaction with the rangers in May when we were there. The sites in the water in the 40's are close, but the water access may be worth it if you have littles or spend lots of time in the water.

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  5 років тому

      Agree. Everyone was super nice. The water lots were nice. Bit noisy with the 4th weekend approaching. That’s what I liked about the campground. You could be in the thick of things or hide out. Really pretty place.

    Hi! Just subscribed to your channel and love your videos. Hubs and I are contemplating a 5th Wheel; going shopping this weekend. My question is sort of a strange one: we are from the northeast and I was wondering if there are any gators in that lake? I know SC has gators but not sure if there are closer to the coast or in all the lakes? I love to swim but I'm deathly afraid of gators and would not want my grandbabies in that water if there was any chance of gators. Like I said, kind of a strange question, I know. Thank you.

    • @iLoveRVlife
      @iLoveRVlife  5 років тому

      Hi Annette. Can’t say, but saw many skiing, floating in tubes, plus near then end of the video, there were dozens of little ones and mommas swimming in the lake. Maybe a call to the main office to be sure. Thanks for the sub and great to hear you’re enjoying the channel.

    Just wanted to share another campground or two with you if you travel up to North Carolina way. A place called Hollypoint campground on Falls lake. It’s about like Heartwell. Roomy, quiet nestled in the woods. Very nice and relaxing place to go. It’s actually about 8 miles from my house. I go there for quick getaways and stay for a week or two at a time. Then a little more North is JC Cooper campground on Kerr lake around the NC and Virginia line. It’s about an hourish north of me off of 85. It’s kinda roomy also and secluded. Nice threw the week pretty happening on the weekends but an overall good little getaway place. Thanks fore sharing your travels. Peace ✌️.
