Thank you for making this video!!!!! It made installing and setting up my device possible. The instructions that came with the device were not very good. Seeing it on video made it so much better
The explanation about removing the panel is the key. It's very delicate yet nuanced, listen and follow the interactions exactly to avoid risking broken panel locks
Nice job on the video. I just bought one and hope to have it fully installed by next week on my GT. I was wondering though, HDA2/ACC disconnects when hitting the GT mode button. What does sunnypilot do in this case? Disengage? Keep going? Are there any issues when switching among the other drive modes eco/normal/sport? (I do it often) I also drive in single pedal mode always. How does it handle this?
Thanks for posting the video!! I have concerns with extreme hot temperatures, I live in Arizona where the temperature can get 100 degrees easily, do I need to take it off every time I park my car outside to prevent it being melt or overheating? Does it still functional under super hot weather? Thanks!
@@hankzhu1828 I never take mine down. When its really hot, I get a thermal warning when I start the car, but then the internal fans cool it down pretty quickly. I’m in Tampa.
Can you do a video of you, or should I say the car, driving for an extended amount of time? I swear I’m happy with my car until you upload a new video! Bringing up an old topic, have you done any 0-60 runs with the new wheel and tire setup? Changes in range? I’m wanting to pick up some 19s but wanting feedback before I decide on what I’m going with. Thanks!
@@EVERYTHINGcpo Thanks. The ADAS in my truck (Rivian) does a good job of keeping the truck centered in the lane. However, when I pass 18 wheel trucks, sometimes they tend to drift too close to the centerline and I disengage the ADAS to move further to the left. Does the comma3 unit move left of center for you when a car on your right gets too close, or does it just stay in the center of the lane?
Thanks for the vid. Just got mine today. Does yours use long control? I have a Honda Civic and am hoping to get the stop sign and red light features on it but I'm guessing I would need OP long control for that
@@elephantmoney Yes… you’d need to enable experimental mode and openpilot long control for that stuff. So far I am liking how FrogPilot handles stop signs and red lights. I just put out a video of driving with FrogPilot if you haven’t seen that.
Thanks for sharing! sunnylink is still on alpha stages but I think it's worth mentioning that one feature I've used a lot is the backup settings :D specially when I am testing new stuff or needing to validate against stock OP. That feature is free to use for everyone btw. (I am a developer at sunnypilot)
Great video but I've been wondering for so long, I have an Ioniq 6 SEL. How much better is the Comma device than our built in adaptive cruise and lane centering with lane change assistance using HDA II ?
@@markshellard way better and improving daily. But even if you just had the same level of capability, the ability to be completely hands off the steering wheel is worth it! I drove the my Golf R the other day and while it does fairly well with lane following, it felt really odd to have to make sure I wiggle the steering wheel periodically.
@@markshellard oh and another thing that you’ll notice. HDA is only available in our cars on designated highways (uses the built in maps I assume). With the C3X auto lane changes can happen on any road and at any speed.
I got the comma 3x to work on the Tucson phev 2022, had to run it using the 2024 model car, but it’s a hit or miss on the stopping for lights and stop signs, sometimes it stops on lights but then tries to continue, other times it comes to a full stop lol
Hello fellow GT/C3X owner! Have you experienced the FCW light come on consistently when sunnypilot boots up? Also somewhat related I have noticed when in auto regen mode with sunnypilot (not engaged though) it'll randomly go to max regen when I take my foot off the accelerator
@@ridgeracr19 interesting questions. I have seen the FCW light come on periodically, but it goes away when the system is online. I don’t recall it always doing this, but I have noticed it lately. Not sure if there was a change in an update, or if I just wasn’t noticing it before. I have actually not done much experimenting with auto regen and C3X. I typically leave it on regen level 2. With or without C3X I just preferred the behavior of the car in level 2 regen (and of course longitudinal controls give the auto-stopping behavior that auto-regen would normally provide).
What's the purpose of drawing the RJ45 all the way from the top to the fusebox and leaving it out on the OBD adapter? I am not able understand it's use? What's the OBD adapter originally plugged into?
@@NarayanBabu the rj45 is plugged into the OBD adapter. That’s what the adapter is for. I thought I showed that in the very beginning. Sorry I didn’t make it clear.
