    Looks a lot better. I wonder if the reason the passenger door was faded more than the fender and the quarter panel, could've been due to there being a couple trees providing filtered sunlight. The spot below the trim on the driver's rear quarter panel, is that due to salt exposure?

    There is no clear coat on single stage. That is why is called single stage and your pad is getting red during the buffing process

      You’re correct. Made the mistake in the video saying clear coat. Sorry about that.

      @@driveanalog747 no worries. With that rear left fender I think you can try the cutting compound for a bit more and it should come back shiny as the rest. The car looks really good 👍

    Yes I would drive that, used to have a cherry 86 e30 that was as red as that, you remind me of BTTFII

      Ya they red from the late 80's to early 90's was really bad. Now they use 2 stage paint and it holds up much better.

    shame your subs are so low, you deserve so much more due to the quality and content..and you do not act like a juvie in presentation...

    Does it really have clearcoat? If its the same red as VW/Audi used back then, it is notoriously bad, next rainfall and some sun it will look as bad again. New paint is usually needed to fix it.

      Ya its that bad red....I treated it after off camera so it will not fade for a while.

    I don't understand how the pad turns red if there is clear coat on the car. I thought clear coat sat on top of the color and was an additional layer?

    • @papasmurf986
      @papasmurf986 2 роки тому

      it is single stage...no clear coat...not sure why he said that. They didn't start putting clear coat on guards red and some other colors till the 90's.

    • @driveanalog747
      @driveanalog747  2 роки тому +1

      It turns red because its picking up the color from the single stage paint. If you over buff it, it will take out the gloss. I say clear coat but it's just means you have gone too far! Thanks for the question and watching!

      @@driveanalog747 Thanks. I thought you meant a literal clear coat.
