I love how well informed you guys are with every city you visit. I grew up on the Gold Coast and moved to Melbourne this year (though I’m currently back on the gc) and watched your videos on both. You did your research, explored a variety of places and appreciated the food and culture 👏👏 major props for that. Count me impressed.
Yes you did miss a few spots on the gc but after all it’s your first time here 😊 however may I suggest heading to mount tamborine, exploring the Coolangatta and Currumbin area as well as the spit on the northern end.
Betty's burgers is an Aussie fast food chain from Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Queensland. I hope you love Queensland anyway. But if you are already in gold coast, you should consider driving down to Byron Bay. It's known for its stunning beaches, relaxed atmosphere, lighthouse and vibrant arts scene!

Surfers Paradise is a tourist area. Locals are more likely to be at Broadbeach, Burleigh or Coolangatta
Yes, we can definitely see that. Burleigh was our personal fave!
Ozone is a bit thinner but the southern hemisphere is actually closer (~10%) to the sun in its summer because of the elliptical orbit. Also Australia has low humidity through the air column - minimal haze and bright skies are attractive but offer less protection
Come back to sydney in winter for the annual Vivid Festival, the whole city will be transformed into amazing array of lights, drone shows and music!

I just read that cyclone Megan is heading for the top of Queensland so it will probably rain a lot. Do not swim in the water after heavy rain. There are even signs on the beaches telling you to wait around 3 days after rain. Most people ignore the signs but the rain washes all the dirt and pollution from the cities into the water on the beaches. If it is really heavy there is also sewerage overflow.

Tasmania is also INCREDIBLE it's such a historical state with incredible forests, coastlines & almost jurassic-type vegetation.

Slip, Slop, Slap is now with Seek, Slide for seek shelter and slide on sunnies (sunglasses)! Our higher UV rate is due to us being closer to the equator so the sun hits it at a more direct angle. The ozone hole is actually over Antartica.

Nice one guys. I spent my teenage years living here. It was a good time!
I saw on the news there was an algae bloom recently on the gold coast making the water look a bit filthy. But the water is also that colour because you are closer to the buildings. My favourite part of the Gold Coast is Coolangatta. Less tourist go there and it is where surf competitions are held. From photos it looks like it is too far away from the impressive tall skyscrapers but actually when you are there the skyscrapers pop out of the ocean similar to the way the moon looks much bigger and more brilliant with your eyes compared to on camera. The water is also a clear emerald green and when you look at the buildings hovering over the water it reminds me of the pictures of Emerald City in the Wizard Of Oz. The sunset there is also better because the land curves around making the sun set in the water similar to the west coast but you will see that even better from Wategos Beach in Byron Bay. You also missed the lookout from the tallest building in Surfers Paradise. You can go up and have lunch there and get a 360 view of the ocean and the rivers on the opposite side and from that point it kinda looks like Dubai but with endless surfing waves that extend as far north as the eye can see.

Hi Juan and Rhylan. I am very happy to see you love the Gold Coat. I live in the Gold Coast but in the foothill semi acreage suburbs. If you both get a chance to visit the Gold Coast, check out the national parks in the Gold Coast hinterland, and also being in the mountains are cooler than the Coast.. Great views and waterfalls and walks. Ive only been in 2 countries Japan (Sapporo snow festival ) and Seoul in S Korea, my brothers and I were very cold leave the airport -18c ! Used to the climate here winters are mostly sunny here 18 - 24c days.
The Gold Coast's beaches are heavenly heaven …

Love watching you guys enjoy yourselves in my country of birth, we are very blessed to have beautiful cities all over this big country, Remember with the sunscreen you should apply it 20 minutes prior to direct sun exposure to give it time to absorb properly, the sun is so strong here if your not used to it you can easily burn in those 20 minutes, enjoy your time in QLD, try to get to Glasshouse Mountains and Moreton Island they are both spectacular.

I'm happy you two are enjoying yourselves in. our great country - please continue - as the the ozone layers being depleted - this is false- the ozone layer was depleted from escaped CFC gases (used in Air conditioning and refrigerators) banning of CFC refrigerated gases over thirty years ago have helped the ozone layer repair itself -Then why are Australian summer so strong - the earth orbit is elliptic not a perfect circle so when our summer comes around the earth is slightly closer to the sun compared to the norther hemisphere - so the sun seems oscillate brighter and penetrating more - plus the northern hemisphere contains most of the worlds population so the pollution they generate causes a lot of dust and other air contaminates which disperse the suns rays diminishing them

Now I'm 60 l always take a sunshade to the beach..when l was younger no sunshade no sunscreen. Sunburnt a few times every summer and it does hert putting your clothes on...slapping your freinds sunburn was common just to see if they felt the sunburn..oucheee
Also try Grilld burgers if you haven't already. Different taste to Betty's but also fresh.

If you go back to Burleigh Heads, I love the restaurant called "Labart", apparently also rated as the best regional restaurant of QLD, by a Sydney chef and his wife from the Gold Coast. It's very intimate and almost has a European flair because of that, and you can watch Alex and his team prep your food! Or if you're going past Mermaid Beach, another gem is Little Truffle! Those burgers and fries look amaze BUT I would probably compare that more to Culver’s then In and Out. Have you guys had a butter burger from Culver’s?! SOooo good. And especially the cheese sauce you can get in the side. It’s a must! I would say my fav fast food burger next to five guys and in and out 👌🏻 Love your videos!!! ❤

I hope you guys are planning a trip south to Melbourne!!?? Constantly ranked the most liveable city in the world and for good reason!! Some say it’s our most European feeling city and shouldn’t be left off your travel plans! Also far North Queensland - cairns, port Douglas, the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree rainforest are also not to be missed!

That's just a average burger. Go get a burger with the lot at a fish and chip shop anywhere or just a local place that does burgers. Not a fast food franchise but just a local shop. You shouldn't be disappointed.

I have never understood the popularity of the Gold Coast. It's a tourist hot spot with beaches (just about everywhere along the Australian coast has stunning beaches), tall condos (why would that be allowed next to the beach?), and tacky, overcrowded theme parks. Yes, locals, I'm sure that there is more? But you get the drift. It is over commercialised and far from my ideal holiday location. But I suppose that's fine with a lot of folk. Each to his own.
Okay so my take. As a local there is alot about this take I agree with. I think part of the reason people move here, was the gained popularity during the lockdown. People decided to get out of the city and come to a coastal town with no cases. But it many ways, it's not equipped to be able to handle that. It's true that's it's a tourist city. Or a destination one. That people come here during the holidays than head back to their own state. Growing up that balance worked out well because there wasn't a huge load of permanent residents here, so there was space for the local population. After covid it's gone to shit. It's hard to say from an outside perspective why people love it here so much. It's does feel family conducive and orientation. Good for retiring, which for a long time was how this place functioned and performed best. In terms of being good as a capital city, no. We just don't have the infrastructure to support that. So many people moved here so quickly that we have missed out on alot of the diverse cultural scenes that especially Melbourne has to offer. Things are kind of picking up but yeah it's not the same. It's meant for a nice holiday place, then in the low seasons, to be a quiet place the relax. Now's it's busy but we don't have much to show for it sometimes 😅 the landscapes here are good. Perhaps that's what people are after that they don't get in the city. Melbourne and Sydney offer culture. Here it's more about location and landscapes. But who knows maybe someone else will off up a better explanation than that.
I like theme parks and hot weather + great beaches so it is a place I enjoy going to from NSW especially in winter going up north is something to do that I enjoy
